Just checking. Finishing 7th usually means pick 11.
With both Adelaide and Essendon losing their picks, does that mean we have now got pick 9?
Thanks.
-
Valid question, where are the experts?
-
Just had a look, think we have pick 10, and then pick 26 for second round without taking into consideration any compo picks etc.
-
Pick 9 which is really pick 8 with the Kangas committing to F/S.
-
We have pick 11. GWS have a compo pick which they activated at pick 9, this has pushed is back up one spot. Our picks as they stand at the moment are
11,28,46,64 and 82

Mr OE has set up a topic on this & stickied at the top off Richmond Rant Board :thumbsup

It won't happen.......and if it does the RFC should be putting a case forward as well.
It was only 2 years ago we were at the same point as Melbourne are now. If its good for them then why isn't it good for us?

A North Melbourne fans of many decades ran in Kevin Bartlett and said due to the Essendon saga and AFL wet lettuce leaf punishment (before the full charges were laid, even) he would not be supporting AFL any more. He was disillusioned with the state of affairs of the game. This was only one man but then other txt/rang the program to say the entire workplace they were in felt similar. I expect across Victoria and Australia this is a common view.
If Melbourne get pick #1 in the draft or something similar I expect Footscray and Saint Kilda flags to be outraged and call it a day...
Richmond has been "worse than Fitzory" "worse than Freo" - rubbish for 30 years. What did we get?

Agree with Loui, wont happen

Luke McDonald will be North's F/S at pick 8.
-
Last year I had a simple request that we draft someone with an easy name to pronounce, so please please don't pick Kade Kolodjashnij
-
Dont be surprised if that changes after the afl give the tankers an extra PP ::)
wont happen with 100% club prez opposing it :shh

I think he is just looking for an excuse to ditch Norf......totally understandable

Pick 11 (KEEP! DO NOT TRADE)
Essentially it is a Pick 10 with North Melbourne taking Luke McDonald.

Pick 11 (KEEP! DO NOT TRADE)

why wouldn't you trade it for adams?
-
Because GWS need mature bodies not draft picks - as they have clearly stated.
-
that, as i have mentioned previously, could be worked around with a third party.
besides that, you totally missed the point.
The question was why wouldnt you ( aimed at torch) trade our first pick for adams. I was not asking if GWS would do that trade.
Now, you could substitute the name of any third year early draft pick who has shown they have what it takes takes for adams, if that makes it easier to get your head around the gist of the question.
-
Ok, ok no need to get tetchy. It (that post) was open to interpretation.
BTW, if the q was aimed at Torch why not send him a private message?
-
because he made a statement on a public forum and I had a question as to his thinking. While it was aimed at torch, it was naturally open for anyone to answer who felt the same way. sorry if my previous post indicated otherwise.

when is the draft is it still late november?

Hutchy's show TAC Cup Future Stars is doing a phantom draft.
They've got Christian Salem from Sandringham Dragons going to us at pick 11.
-
I wouldn't sneeze at that.

Here's the TAC Cup Future Stars Phantom Draft....
1. GWS - Tom Boyd ............. Height: 199cm, Weight: 102kg, DOB: 22/08/1995, Eastern Ranges (Vic), KPF

BF write-up by regular Phanton Draft doer Knightmare:
Christian Salem
Style: Luke Hodge
Player comparison: Luke Tapscott (more athletic)
Range: 5-20
Profile: Midfielder with a real physical presence and physical style of playing. I also really enjoy Salem’s tackling game, he just hunts the man and you can see he really enjoys it, and he does big damage every time he lays a tackle and it’s a real feature of his game. When it’s his turn to go he goes, whether it be a marking contest where he knows he will get crushed or going for the hard ball he will put his head over it and just go for it. He also does some really impressive work at times with some good blocking or bumps on or off the footy where required and just has that hard edge you love to see. He plays a good two way game running both ways and also stopping his direct opponent or playing a shutdown role as required. His footskills are above average and he hits his targets and can at times do damage, particularly when within range from goal. Also has ok but only above average pace, but regardless of this will run and carry the footy and cover ground with ball in hand when the opportunity is there. He’s more outside than inside at this stage and the next step will be to develop that inside game. I’d class Salem as a guy who screams “component of a winning team” without projecting as a particularly elite individual talent.

12. Carl - Lewis Taylor ............ Height: 173cm, Weight: 73kg, DOB: 17/02/1995, Geelong Falcons (Vic), Mid/Fwd
13. Port - ?
14. Syd - ?
15. Geel - Darcy Gardiner ......... Height: 192cm, Weight: 84kg, DOB: 22/09/1995, Geelong Falcons (Vic), KPD
16. Freo - Cameron McCarthy .... Height: 195cm, Weight: 89kg, DOB: 01/04/1995, South Fremantle (WA), KPF

Would absolutely loooove loooove Lennon to slip through to Pick 11..
Absolute Jet.

Any good KPF's available with pick 11?

McCarthy but I'd wait personally. Should be a couple in the second round like Conlon and Hourigan.

Pffft comparing Salem to Tapscott, if you are going to stoop to a Demon would prefer a Nathan Jones type to replace Tuck. :lol

I have no idea why Gardiner isn't being more highly touted to go at GWS' pick 9. They're screaming out for a key defender.

I'm not a massive junior watcher, so how are his TAC / U18 form & stats ? Do they stack up ?

Pick 11 = T Adams
-
Pick 11 = T Adams
I can see this happening and GWS swapping 11 for a mature player. Need to find a willing third party. Just need Adams to nominate us.
-
wont happen but my pick in the entire draft is matt scharenburg geez if i had pick 1 id be tempted to use it on him. best kid in the draft imo.
he can play anywhere i can just see him starting at hb in his first few yrs and ending up a damaging mid/for.
if chasing a tall forward i reckon jonathon marsh is exactly the type we need. thing is hes not big a bash crash kpf.would make a fantastic hit up link up hf who is unstoppable on the lead and super quick getting up the ground and then even quicker getting back inside 50. i reckon he will go top 5 if he was there at 11 id seriously look at him.
imo if we got adams for pick 11 it would be a massive win for us.the kid can really play.
just my opinion but i would use pick 28 on darcy cameron fairly sure he will become a good afl ruckman.
would dearly love for us to get another pick around 15-20 but that would mean giving up a decent player and it seems nearly everyone is adverse to that notion..
theres a few state league players i really want us to look at and theres a couple from other clubs im sure will be upgrades even for the short term.
to do that we have to cut players but again it seems most are happy with the state of the list and think we will be top 4 or 5 next yr and dont need to do much to get there.
its like 95 and 01 all over again.
