Delisted again by Carlton.
Doubt he'll get re-listed by them a second time.
Would you guys pick him up again?
I liked him as a player. Very fond memory of the game against Sydney at the MCG when Collins was concussed then came back on in the last quarter to jag the two match winning goals. Thought he was brave/tough but not exactly hardened. Good skills too IMO, lots of poise.

carlton never gave him a chance. played old hacks instead because they wanted to play finals.
-
Would definitely be worth putting through his paces, in the environment , every chance we could realize those talents :shh
-
ever read the book Gone with the Wind ;D
7 years in the system & still expecting him to be a contributor :lol
-
In fairness he did contribute to our team while he was here. Even so, he was told that his position in the team could not be guaranteed when he left.
Maybe that was just spin so we could convince him to go and pick up Grigg but I suspect he was seen as a bit limited.
Dimma has never coached him either so he wont have any fond memories.
Collo wont be back.

Think he be a better player like many of them, If they had better coaches than Leatherskin, Royal, Rawlings, & god help me forget the others who damaged the club & the players including some of the medical staff.
think he has done very well to stay in the system for 7 years so he did have something to offer.
-
I thought Collins was a good contributor for us.
He didn't do well at Carlton. I think the trade upset him and he didn't look all that happy over there.
Definitely worth picking up as a rookie IMO. And he was certainly tougher/braver than Grigg.

As a former mod you should check your facts, pal. Hardwick has coached him

Did he? I thought he left at the beginning of Dimma's 1 season. Bad memory.
I never check facts. :P
-
He was our second leading goal kicker in Hardwicks first year.
-
Oh well, maybe there is some hope for him to get a rookie spot.
-
I wouldn't think so. :nope

Was Will Thursfield playing as well?
-
No, I don't think he ended up playing at all there.

No probs, ta. I know pre-season that he was reported as going up there with Collins but I hadn't been following it so wasn't sure.
-
Yeah he definitely was, not sure what happened.
-
Prefer this kid to Grigg. Had courage, skill and poise.
Grigg is weak and terrible by foot most of the time.
-
Harder than houli, too
-
Straight swap for Grigg
-
Who the hell would trade for grigg..Youd be better off placing some witches hats on the field, and get a far higher return

Geez a classic case of a legend growing after they leave if there ever was one.

Being preferred to Grigg would hardly bestow legend status...

Courage skill and poise were not words I associated with Collins. Ordinary footballer.
FWIW Grigg is a better player no doubt.

Yep problem is some people can't see past that one game against the Swans
If he was a decent player he would be playing AFL and the fact is he isnt

Collins was a better class of dud than Grigg. Both failed at Carlton. Collins broke his leg, Grigg had no such excuse. Would've been delisted eventually had the Hack's Santa Claus aka Richmond Football Club not decided to come down Carlton's chimney.

Wrong.

I listened to the local radio coverage of the grand final for a little while and even the commentators there were questioning his ball use. :lol
