Heard a rumour Jared Polek has had talks with Melbourne, given our relations with Brissy and Leppa we could eek something out despite talk he wants to go back to SA. That way we can use McGuane as trade bait and get him up to Brissy as part of a deal that benefits both parties. was a top 5 pick I believe. Could be something we can push for. Thoughts?

Unless he's offered $$$ (unlikely as he's done nothing yet at AFL level) and does a Mitch Clark (who said he wanted to go home to Perth but at the last minute chose Melbourne instead), it's hard seeing Polec going anywhere but back home to SA.

Port Adelaide are in the box seat to snare Jared Polec from the Brisbane Lions after the rising AFL star nominated the Power as his new club of choice.
Polec, who was taken by the Lions with at No.5 in the 2011 national draft, walked out on the club at the end of the 2013 season saying he wanted to return to his home state of South Australia.
