Nice town, Wang. Not sure you could call it the capital of bum stuff nowhere. Close to the snowfields, wineries and not far from Albury-Wodonga. Gets good crowds, surface is perfect.

thats the spirit. Though doubt we can lose if we try. Assberry shut down Hogan last year hahahaha

I would be playing all the newbies, trying Ellis in the centre, leaving Cotch, Jack, Lids, Martin and Maric out!
-
If we drop one of these games we may as well put the cue in the rack and roll out the tank for the rest of the season and go for draft picks

Not any more WP, I really used to think that they were important but over the years I have seen how little clubs actually focus on the win itself. We may as well see what the newbies have to offer and play our round one side in the last pre season game.

Ticket Info for those planning on heading to Wangaratta for the Tigers -v- Pies game
Tickets go on sale next week (Tues 28th)
Like last year there wont be any walks, you must pre-purchase tickets

AFL tickets on sale in 12 5 days
Pies, Tigers clash to be a sell out
Simone Kerwin
skerwin@nenews.com.au
January 17, 2014
COLLINGWOOD and Richmond fans have just over a week to wait until they can snap up tickets to their clubs’ pre-season clash at the Wangaratta Showgrounds.
General admission tickets for the NAB Challenge game, expected to be a sell out, will be available from 10am on Wednesday, January 29.
And AFL, Richmond and Collingwood members will be able to pre-purchase their tickets from Tuesday, January 28, only through the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre (WPAC) box office.
Rural City of Wangaratta chair of administrators Ailsa Fox said the match, kicking off at 4.40pm on Saturday, February 22, was an exciting opportunity for the municipality.
“Not only will it be a great game for the spectators attending, but it is again being telecast by Fox, giving us another fantastic opportunity to showcase our rural city to a national audience,” Ms Fox said.
More than 120,000 viewers watched last year’s game at the Showgrounds between Essendon and Richmond, which was Wangaratta’s second opportunity to stage a pre-season AFL match after the aborted Essendon-St Kilda clash in 2012.

Please take note that according to the article AND the website, MEMBER tickets can only be purchased at the box office in person NOT online.
"PRE-SALE - AFL Members & Collingwood & Richmond Club Members ONLY
Tuesday 28 January 10am-4pm WPAC BOX OFFICE ONLY"
Online purchases are general public on Wednesday.

It also says on the website under ticket prices that AFL members must present their member card at the box office for their one free ticket per member.
While it doesn't specifically say that you must present a Richmond members card, I would presume you would have to since you must buy at the box office for pre-sale.

Err.. nope as a number of folks have said on Twitter today there was no discount on tickets if you were a member. No place to enter any member details eg bar-codes, had to pay the full price of $18
Also, there no pre-sale for Club members yesterday (as advertised by Ticketmaster) only pre-sale for AFL members. RFC member bar-codes were not accepted on the Ticketmaster site
-
you have to pay?
sheesh, the arabs are going to pay people $60 to watch a-league and the AFL is charging for pre-season games :banghead
-
Dunno what the prices are on Ticketmaster but according to the WPAC site (and the tickets I bought on Tuesday) the members AND general admission price was/is $20 with a junior price of $6. AFL members were free but one ticket per member.

Ticketmaster charged $18 for adults & $6 for kids with $2.95 handling fee. You could either pick up your tickets at an outlet 24-48 hours before the game or for $5 you could get them posted to you

2014 NAB Challenge rules:
The nine-point 'supergoal', a feature of the pre-season competition in recent years, will again be in play.
The introduction of the interchange cap limit will provide an added point of interest during the NAB Challenge as clubs come to grips with restrictions on bench moves.
Rotations for the NAB Challenge will be set at 130, dropping to 120 for the home and away season. There will be no restriction on the number of interchanges per quarter during the pre-season.
Teams will be permitted to field squads of 26 players per game, with eight players on the interchange bench (two of them being substitutes).
Coaches will be allowed to 'reset' their substitutes at half-time.
The AFL announced rule changes relating to body contact at the end of last year, with these to be in place during the NAB Challenge.
For example, "a player electing to bump will be cited for rough conduct if contact comes via a head clash". Players will be instructed that a head clash should be reasonably foreseen when bumping.
Contact with the legs has also been addressed, with a free kick to be paid if a player makes forceful contact below the knees or acts in a manner likely to cause injury, even if contact
does not occur. Also, changes have been made to discourage players from seeking to draw forceful high contact.

I will be going if PRO is open to the public, IIRC the club said this game may be closed
Will then head off to watch the VFL game @ Scumwood Park at 430
-
Have they built any seat at Punt Road Oval?
No
Some works being done now but they ever said they would be building more seating, said they'd fix up the Dyer stand, existing seating and perhaps install temp seating - that's all
I will be going if PRO is open to the public, IIRC the club said this game may be closed
Will then head off to watch the VFL game @ Scumwood Park at 430
Club has said details of the praccy match at PRO -v- Bumblings will be released in the next couple of weeks, including ticket sales
They have also said only limited numbers will be able to get in, that is will be via ticket only like what is happening with the Wangaratta game

No obviously

The forecast for Friday is 28 degrees and humid :P.

Dawes and Clark not playing either.
MELBOURNE will be without key forward trio Jesse Hogan, Chris Dawes and Mitch Clark for the club's NAB Challenge opener against Richmond on Friday night.
With Clark, Hogan and Dawes all sidelined, the Demons will be forced to go with a makeshift forward line against the Tigers.
Roos said the onus would fall on high-flyer Jeremy Howe.
"Forward of centre is where we're going to really struggle, because we're not going to have too many talls down there," Roos said.
"Unfortunately, someone who suffers a bit from that, is Jeremy Howe. I'd love to free him up as a half-forward/wingman and get him more involved."
Roos also singled out Cameron Pedersen as potentially filling a forward post, after the former North Melbourne utility impressed in last Friday's intra-club clash.
"We'd probably set him as a defender. But about three or four weeks ago, we changed his mindset to a forward and he's been really good," he said.

Game over we've won. Melbourne have nothing but a fwd line and now that's gone. :lol

Didn't you hear? They have Roos and Cross, no longer a basket case because they have received enough handouts to renamed the AFL Demons and will win 3 flags this season.
-
Wonder what roos thinks of Griff/elton
-
At lest you know he wouldn't swap them between forward and back......

now now al you are taking things out of context

NAB Challenge Barometer
Herald-Sun
11th February 2014
RICHMOND
NEW FACES:
Shaun Hampson headed to Punt Road from the Blues in October in a bid to give Ivan Maric relief and provide a forward target. Top draft pick Ben Lennon should slot straight into a half-forward stuff and mature-age recruits Nathan Gordon and Sam Lloyd will get an opportunity in the pre-season comp while rookies Matt Thomas, Anthony Miles and Todd Banfield are fighting for a vacant senior list spot before Round 1.
ON THE CUSP:
See above. Also keep an eye out for 2012 draftees Matt McDonough, Liam McBean and Kamdyn McIntosh, who reportedly impressed on a wing in an intra-club hit-out last week.
AL PATON’S FORECAST:
The Tigers have made no secret of their desire to make a fast start in 2014 so expect them to be close to top nick for the pre-season comp. With just about a full list to pick from, they will make plenty of rotations. Grimes missed the Warrnambool community camp after experiencing hamstring tightness but could still play in the NAB Challenge while Reece Conca and Mat Arnot are on the comeback trail from long-term injuries and won’t be rushed. We will see a slightly re-jigged line-up this season with a slimmed-down Jack Riewoldt playing as a true centre half-forward ahead of talls Ty Vickery and Shaun Hampson. Ben Griffiths will also take his turn in the goalsquare. Damien Hardwick has also hinted Dustin Martin could spend time across half-back.

Tone Greenberg @TigerlandTone:- "Ivan, Thomas, Grimes, DJ probably not NAB1. You'd think Conca would be spared too."

Thank god. Keeping Jacko fresh for the big stuff. :thumbsup

Damien Hardwick has also hinted Dustin Martin could spend time across half-back.
What a complete waste but a looming possibility, all because Vickery,Hampson or Griff cant.
Interesting that none of them have proven poo up forward either.
