Watching on telly tonight as stuck at work - late in the second and we are getting creamed like the Tigers of old (well the one's from the last 20 years anyway).
Mid Season Break perfect timing maybe a week late by the look of it - I reckon they should go up to Laguna get on the pee together and just forget about the footy and any type of training for a week - just be boys let there hair down and try and refresh - Go to the beach use their AFL celebrity pick up a few stunners.
Point is no use dwelling on the last 4 weeks just come back rejuvenated and ready to start again - Dont stew on it for the whole 2 weeks. I will do that for them :shh

I've held out for Morrison but he is a dud.
:banghead
I know you have to 'stick to your man', how about getting involved in a contest,
HELPING OUT YOUR TEAM MATES
-
We will come to rue overachieving in the first ten games.
We'll be lucky to win another game for the year.
Our forwards are crap (bar Richo) and our midfield is crap (bar Cogs, Tuck and Johnson).
-
I like em John F but Cogs, Tuck and Johnson got belted in the midfield tonight.
Belted.
-
A bit harsh on Morrison, he had is own guy to worry about, and infact i saw him a few times peel off his guy to chase/smother/tackle someone else's guy!
He was far from our worst player!
Newman playing on Welsh! :help
-
I know there's a heap of K.Johnson fans out there, but he does too much recieving!!!!
He dug in early in the 3rd quarter, but the rest of the game he stood there and waited for it.
Someone's gotta get it!!!!!!
Like JohnF said last week, they took Tuck off last week for 5 minutes, NO ONE GOT IT. Alright you can't have 3 guys dive down on the ball, but you can't leave it to Tuck everytime either. Someone, ie Kane Johnson has got to bend over and get the thing yourself sometimes.

Fair enough but how many times did you see Morrison hit a pack?
I was watching him closely, the answer is: NONE!
-
Sorry JohnF...but Cogs is really peeing me off. He just turns it over way too much.
Someone get me some rope!

Belted.
They were, but a midfield should consist of 6-8 players.
If Coughlan, Tuck and Johnson got belted, what's to be said of Hyde, Chaffey, Tivendale and part timers like Jackson, Campbell and our two ruckmen?

He has his moments om21, but he'd be one of the last guys I'd look to bag. He has been great for us this year and would be in our 3 best players in the B&F count.
Yes he was pretty bad tonight. No question.

True.
Nothing can be said of those part timers.
I think something can be said of Kane Johnson, who decided to put himself back on the ball with 10 minutes to go, and didn't even tell Daniel Jackson he was doing so!
Poor captaincy by Kane Johnson. What was the use of denying an 18yo some time on the ball when we were 10 goals down, come on.

Johnson is still injured. He can't even bend down properly to pick up the ball. I'd cut him some slack on that angle.
He has been getting the cheap ones of late to an almost Bowden-esque level, but he does go in when fully fit.
Agree about the poor captaincy.
He should not have been playing in the centre and if he's there for the cheap ones Bowden should have been put in the centre or even on the wing or upforward.

Agreed, Morrsion did play a bit soft, HOWEVER there was never really a time when it costs us bad, as far as i could tell!

these losses just mean Wallace will get a better idea of the task ahead of him. Like the new Telstra boss said recently "catch the vision or catch the bus" ... looks like the bus leaving from punt road at the end of the year will have quite afew passengers again. I actually think we will see how good Wallace is as a coach at the end of the season- and what will show that is...Does he have the balls to trade a big name ... i mean a really big name...maybe someone like Gaspar! Now I know you guys wont like that but he is in the last 3 years of his career probably...its our last chance to get something for him. Ofcourse Tivendale,Hall, Bowden, Chaffey, Krakouer are others that should be traded...poo it looks like we're gonna have to clean out another 10-12 again this season...Now whose hiring the bus?
-
Cogs is really peeing me off. He just turns it over way too much.
I'm a big fan of Cogs but he was almost as bad as Tivs was last week. Running back into the path of Richo and stuffing up what should have been a simple mark for the big fella, missing targets by foot to his shocking attempts on goal. Even the one that went through in the second quarter was a floating up and under. No wonder he struggles to kick goals from around 40 metres and beyond.
He shouldn't be a protected species from criticism.
Likewise Bowden's game was on par with his pre-dropping to Coburg days. Not sure how Simmonds can mark a ball that bounces 1m in front on him :scream.

Not that i was counting or anything ;D but in the first quarter there were 4 errors by Cogs that either resulted in a turnover or created so much pressure on his teammate that his teammate turned it over. Granted my expectations of Cogs is probably higer than what I have of others but the running back into the road of Richo was unforgivable made all the worse after watching the replay and seeing the big fella yell MINE :banghead

So true ;)

But I will defend Bowden for trying to make something hanppen it was a pity that he had no support from one his teammates in the second when he was running through the centre (Hello Chris Hyde).
It's funny (not haha funny btw) how the kids do the right thing gameplan wise - Deledio always tries to bring it back into the centre corridor but our more seasoned players struggle with this concept
The players should be shown a tape of this game but not how we playted but how the Crows played - moving the ball back through the centre to get the easy pass to the leading forwards

Funny that ;D.
Hi to bg25 and Moi too :thumbsup

Exactly :thumbsup. And all simply as a result of working hard for each other to present options and create space.
-
IMO a lot of Tigers supporters would be cautious about criticizing Coughlan considering how much he is loved my Tigers supporters!

I have to disagree with that WP.
Coughlan bravely backed back into that situation- Richo should have seen that he was going to take the mark. My thoughts at the time were "Where's Richo's vision?"

Interesting take Dallas - one that never crossed my mind I must say.
Backing back to take a mark is courageous I agree the only problem to me at least was in this situation and this is the tack I took - there was no need to go backing back because Richo was leading out. I would agrue that Cogs wouldn't have taken the mark because the Crows defender was heading forward. Richo doesn't go for the ball and he is most likely (actually considering it's Richo we are talking about here it's a given ;D) pinged for an illegal sheppard.
The other thing was to me Richo's job is; as a forward to lead out in the forward 50. Cogs job is as a mid-fielder and run and carry the ball. Richo was doing what he was supposed to do. We all cry out for Richo to be given some space and to be in the situation for a one on one contest - in this case he didn't get that opportunity.
Just my take we can agree to disagree :thumbsup
-
Whoever's fault it was in that collision between Cogs and Richo there obviously wasn't any talking or awareness going on :scream.

WP, wouldn't you want to see the forward line less Richo concious and more encouraging for midfielders to drift in and take those sort of marks? We lack those midfielders that can find space around the 40m mark by drifting in, ala the Demons lately.
Coggers wont be drifting back inside 50 to take the mark if he keeps getting caned by Richo like that...
Just my take we can agree to disagree :thumbsup
I love reading people's different takes on the game. 8)

To add to that, Tuck can seem to get open a lot at that range, but not get used.

Yes when the need arises but I also like to see them honour Richo's first lead when he is one on one a little more often instead waiting for him to be tripled teamed ;) Also on Saturday night I would have liked to see Richo take the easy mark and then handball quickly onto the Cogs for him to kick a goal (as long as he kicks through the bloody ball of course ;D)
:thumbsup ;D :thumbsup
