Family Day is coming home in 2014... the ME Bank Centre will once against host the annual family day on Feb 16 http://tige.rs/familyday14
-
And RFCO has just tweeted that the Family Day this year will be held at Punt Rd.
Edit: Beat me to it RFCO :cheers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richmond’s Family Day is coming home to the ME Bank Centre in 2014.
The fans’ favourite event of the pre-season will be held at the Tigers’ iconic home base for the first time since the Club completed the major redevelopment of its facilities.
The event will take place on Sunday, February 16, from 10.30am until 2pm. Entry is via gold cold donation.
The usual attractions will be on offer for all the family, including player autograph marquees, kids’ rides and activities, face painters, Richmond mascots and the presentation of the players’ 2014 guernseys on stage.
Memberships will be on sale, and the Tigerland Superstore will be open for you to get your hands on the latest gear ahead of the 2014 season.
Fans are being encouraged to register their details via the form below.

Gee hope they're covering the ground with something. Wouldn't want all that top notch grass to get ruined by the Richmond ferals
-
Legend couch, if it can withstand an errant 7i I think the ferals scuffing it up will be just fine , :lol
-
Can someone explain to me the logic behind "Fans are being encouraged to register their details via the form below."
What's the point exactly, what's the benefit :-\
Some folks just decide on the day to turn up so why the need to or "encouragement" to register?
Lost on me I'm afraid

Hoping to get an idea on the numbers coming. The first year we held it back here we had more numbers than we expected.

I went to the fireworks that were outside the MCG on new years eve.
We got off at Jolimont and walked down to Punt rd oval to have a look, which was a long walk.
Is getting off at Jolimont station the easiest way to get to the family day or is it easier to go into flinders st and get onto another train there.
Can't remember the way, it's been thirty years since I went past the jolimont station to anywhere else.
We are coming from the south morang line.

Jolimont is a shorter walk than West Richmond station imo
-
yeah, but richmond station is closer than both

Jolimont to the Punt Road Oval is not a long walk.
But if there is a reason that walking is a problem (old age or with young kids etc) then stay on the train and get off at Flinders St Station and catch a train to Richmond which is across the road from the PRO.
:cheers

Not on the Doreen line though

you do know you can a train right into the city and change lines?
-
you do know you can a train right into the city and change lines?
That takes ages. Some people can't bear the extra 20 mins sitting down. Think about others for once instead of just yourself.
-
Yeah looks like a bit of hard work going into the city and swapping trains and then having to do the same to get back home.
I got three little Tiger cubs, well not too little, but I reckon the little buggers can hoof it from jolimont.
Cheers for the help guys :thumbsup :lol

two choices, walk the distance or take the time.
pretty simple really.
If they cant bear to sit down the extra twenty, nor bear the extra 10 minute walk, then what?
perhaps you could think of others and drive him in?

That sounds like a lot of fun.
I'm going to buy the kids a small Tigers footy from rebel sports, gonna take that to get a few signatures on it.
Thanks for the thought :thumbsup

Does anybody know what players are going to be there.
Last time I saw any kind of footy player appearances was up in QLD.
My daughter was doing auskick and they said a couple of brissy lions players were coming to pay a visit.
Trouble was, the two players that turned up, weren't anybody special, in fact I didn't even know who they were and they signed my daughters cap, knobs .

Yeah they'll be fine, only about 500 metres or so from Jolimont to the ground

Not because of rain but because of the pea hearted effort they made against Melbourne!

I went anyway hoping it was still on.
Been waiting for many many years to be able to go to a family day.
Absolutely awesome to walk on the most wondrous memories I had as a kid "Punt Road Oval" :bow
What a fantastic day we all had, my wife and three tiger cubs.
I even had a shot on goal from 50 out, it flew and flew through the air.
Then I had to run and kick it the rest of the way :lol
Still a thrill to kick it through the big ones.
It's good to be home after being away for so long :cheers :gotigers

If you want them to try in a practice match and risk injury for nothing then go tell the players ;)

Good day
Usual lines
Lloyd was good although not sure why they talked up the big announcement so much

Could see 1000 increase to the membership tally since the last update.

Great news EEA! Not that I thought there would be any disappointment unless the players didn't turn up!! :) Love the way the club goes about communicating and interacting with it's supporters nowadays - light years ahead of 10 years ago.

Few complaints on twitter about the cost of the food and the long queues for autographs
Like previous years people queued for over an hour to get to the front of the line and be told players are going now and they miss out.
Having said there was some praise on twitter that at least we don't charge people for photos in the autograph tents. Unlike the Dawks who were charging $25 a pop for a photo ;D
-
I didn't go because I don't have a family. Still waiting for the late 20s/early 30s unmarried couples day. Club still can't get it all right :banghead

You'll find that one at Croxton over 28's

i don't suppose anyone had any suggestions about how to reduce the length of the queues for autographs.
stuff me sideways.

Actually didn't go either
They wouldn't allow me to bring my kids ;D

Actually al, part of the problem was created by the fact that in a number of tents they had multiple popular players rather than spreading them around
-
which would probably mean that people had to que up multiple times to get the autographs they want, which they would have complained about
Some people will never be happy unless they get everything they want and get it now.
whiney biatches

$25 for a photo on a family where your trying to generate membership, now that's what I call disgusting.
Of the autographs I did get, the line was long but it was long because the players were genuinely happy to see you, say hi and have a mug shot taken with you.
Let's hope it doesn't get to a point where everybody is rushed through, no hi no talking at all and no photos.
That's when you start losing peoples interest and memberships.
People have got to use common sense, there's always going to be lines, 30,000 odd people trying to get the same signatures, no matter how you do it, spread them out, stop photos or allow just one signature per family, someones going to miss out. It's just life.
I was happy just to have met Steve Morris, said g'day shook his hand got a photo, AWESOME!
The kids loved it too.
I had a fantastic time.

Not terribly concerned, same for Hardwick too.
Although Harwick did say while presenting the guernsey's that one of our players (forget who it was) was a chink in our armor. Followed with a chuckle and an admission that some days he wasn't sure what he was talkin about.
Funny stuff Damo :thumbsup :lol :lol :lol

Was there ever any doubt when Nike were making the guernseys? They were jet black and there was never an issue. KOOGA/BLK are the worst. Navy/grey/cream sash guernseys, always lighter than the shorts too.
If RFC didn't go and resign with these amateurs for 4 years, we could've had puma or adidas for 4 years.
-
Lot's of pics of Jack...looks real peeed off with the club.
I'm surprised the captions for the pics didn't say "Former leader Jack Riewoldt forced to spend time with a kid"

Gotta say, the guernsey not matching the colour of the shorts does irk me. That can't be hard to match could it?

A great day yesterday, ques long but worth the wait for the boys to see their favourite players...
I think they could have tents 8 - 10 players each and let say 50 people in at a time, that might move it along quicker.

why were they all laughing. Their performance against Melbourne was pitiful. If Brendon Gale was a good CEO he would put a "return salary" clause in every player contract. Every time we lose a game each player should return 8% of their total yearly salary. These blokes should work for free anyway. They playing for the Tiges and its an honor to work for the Tiges.
