Yesssss donut!!!!

No Lloyd or Kingy. So are we relying on Titch to play the small forward role?
No Bennell is a big out for the Suns.
-
EM
Lloyd, Gordon - stiff
A. Edwards, - :clapping
-
Solid lineup and good to see Gordon and Lloyd were really close too. :gotigers
-
Good to see Hardwick finally work out what everyone who saw him play at Melbourne already knew years ago and start Petterd up forward where he belongs.

Agree. Glad Bennell isn't playing

Newy will play forward, + resting mids

Yep, if he's going to be in the team at least keep him fwd
-
Foley lucky imo. Is a long way from his best. Will be hard pressed once Jackson is ready. Looks like we're trying to run them off their feet as our midfield quality (subjective) spills to flanks where as theirs doesn't exceed the guts.

Imposing ff line

Firstly I want to say its great to have the footy back and now I can enjoy reading everyone's expert comments once again. ;D
Thanks to the administrators and mods for the opportunity to enjoy the best Richmond forum on the net. :thumbsup
Its great to be back and lets hope its a fantastic year for all of us. :gotigers

Would rather see Kingy in than Pettard

wish bennell was playing i want to play every side at full strength.no bock either. structurally they look a little short down back.
an interchange bench that contains omeara, swallow, and stanley is a damn decent interchange bench.
for us cant help but be pleased with the structure. of the regulars its only really missing grimes replaced by astbury, jackson replaced by thomas and maric replaced by hampson . there really are no excuses.
would like to see houli and newman moved positionally. replaced down back by vlastuin and conca. newman to the bench and houli nto a wing.
real shame miles gordon and knights are not playing/ not ready to play

not if you went off last official game they played you wouldn't, watch king's final ::)

Bloody lucky - would've preferred either Arnot to help Thomas bash them up or Gordon for the outside pace.
-
Foley was very good on Friday. Was bursting out of packs. Looks to have gained back some of his pace. I say looks because VFL is slower so it's harder to gauge. Looks primed to start the year as a sub for mine where he can be an impact player.
-
Heard Rory Thompson feigned injury because he thought Arnot might play.

Bock did not play last year. Their backline performed well against us last year. Dangerous to underestimate their backline. The reason I am glad that Bennell isn't playing is that he is a very good player. They have a talented midfield as it is without him. It means one less player we have to worry about.

Will be a tough game. I have my reservations about Petterd. Just doesn't have a same quality of disposal as I would like and hasn't many other skills to compensate for that. Dimma seems to love him so I must be missing something here. Perhaps it is his flexibility that Dimma values and ability to swing from attack to defense? Either way I would have liked to have seen Lloyd take his spot because I feel he offers more X-Factor in front of goal or even Gordan as he could have given us additional depth and run in the midfield.
In saying that, I'm pleased with the side overall. Very settled, experienced line up. How Hampson, Astbury and McDonough go will be the most interesting thing for me during the game. That and can anyone stop Gaz!!!?

structurally they look a little short down back.
I was surprised to see that May is only 190cm.
Warnock is there only tall back, unless they send Day back.
Hope it is a good night for marking, Riewoldt, Vickery and Griffiths/Hampson could cause the Suns a lot of headaches.

Gotta remember they have 3 massive forwards too that are bigger than all our defenders. :whistle

They do, but we at least have 3 options for them and can rotate around if one matchup isn't working.

Rather have an underdone player would you?
-
Pettard as the 4th forward and its a large forward line
-
if they all play there
seriously, team line-ups are so 2000s, they should just have team sheets
get wid da progs flogs
-
GOLD Coast midfielder Andrew Boston is out of the Suns' round one clash with Richmond, replaced by Timmy Sumner.

I'd prefer to play them at full strength. Is it possible to postpone the game for a week or two?

just papering over the cracks otherwise

I prefer cheap meaningless wins against understrength sides personally

Than Pettard, yeah probably Kingy puts in twice as much as Pettard
-
Dont dismiss the run & skill this Suns team has. They have some very strong ball winners & play makers
