Jak grig foley vickery conca houli Newman petard Edwards - just either soft or duds

Fwd line. Haha.
Nice one Damien
-
Fwd line is and has been a joke for a while. One bloke plays from behind and the other is too enamoured with cute knock ons rather than jut picking the stuffing ball up.
Really really disappointing performance from coaches right down.

I agree
Your right.
Jack I like.
I'd give Conca a bit more leniency than the rest but that said I still expect more from him than what he's delivering.
Newman was a good servant but he's past it.
The rest are spuds.
Vickery is a liability. I've lost all hope in him.
-
They looked like re tards running around and trying to CATCH the ball in the fwd line.

There's no forward structure. Or so it seems.
Jack definitely has footy smarts but a bad attitude. He needs to just play to his strengths.
We need a CHF that can create a contest and smash the packs just outside 50.
I think Vickery doesn't know what he's doing. He's not a smart footy player and he doesn't look like he knows what he's doing. He's the most frustrating player on our list no doubt about it.
-
Vickery has no awareness, no idea of positional play or how to read the play.
Not enough players who are consistently good in the air or can take a contested mark.
Not enough composed players who can think their way through traffic or skilled players who can get a handpass out, recieve a handpass cleanly or react to a spilt ball quickly & pick up cleanly.
Nobody prepared to pick up loose defenders and too many weak attempts at tackling when we do.
Too many one sided players.
Delivery is poor & indecisive.
No genuine crumbers.
Not enough pace.
Players don't work hard enough to create thw loose options.
Set shot kicking is unreliable.
Some of these things also translate into other areas of the field.
-
absolutely stuffing disgraceful performance from a bunch of overpaid amateurs

We wooda fixed em up, too bloody right he wooda :thumbsup

Actually I hate to say this but am sure tonight I saw some "token" tackles, apparent desperate mid air dives which put our player immediately out of play, more obviously a soft option to avoid having to chase, not a nice sight amd needs attention from our defensive coaches

Reckon if he gets through next weeks VFL Praccy game is a deadset certainty
At least he fights to keep the ball inside our F50, no one seemed to bother with trying to do it tonight
-
You blokes are embarrassing. We didn't play well. It happens. We won't be the only team to lose to GC at home this year. Must bounce back next game and who better to do it against than Carlton at the G

we shouldnt have to put up with half arsed efforts like saw today. only cotchin deledio griffiths and 1 or 2 others could ask for their wages the rest played like a pack of overpaid bludgers on the gravy train.
-
Nah not embarrassing just bitterly disappointed in some rather embarrassing efforts shown by our team this evening
-
Geez we looked slow.
And disinterested.
Were second efforts not allowed tonight?

We wouldn't have as many posters on here if we won every week too. There are some I just imagine that after a loss walk to the computer in the biggest huff and mash their chubby little fingers away :shh

Probably right.
Having said that, as long as they persist with spuds like conca and foley, it will continue :wallywink

Nope, as you would have been able to see from the game thread. I have meltdowns in the loungeroom and throw things around :thumbsup

Thing that annoys me is watching a team like GWS who have targeted the KPF's in drafting.
Cameron and Patton prolific for them.
Boyd and McCarthy, the top 2 KPF's from last draft, are waiting in the wings.
And yet we keep drafting all these blokes 180-185cm. Need a genuinely strong forward with wide hips and a fat ass that will bowl some people over...
-

That's just garbage. You really think players went half arsed ? We went hard but we just didn't execute and couldn't really get going all night. We had 11 inside 50s to 2 in the first 10 mins of the last. We scored nothing , they scored 2 goals from 2 entries. That's when momentum swung. And even then , if Dusty gets that free we're a goal down with a minute to play.
-
Banfumbles would've been handy tonight - quick, tackles & knows QLD conditions.

we were half arsed and thats the truth. most of our players were no where when the heat was on. they went to water hoping for Cotchin and Deledio to save the day. most of our players can get stuffed if they wanna play like that.

Didn't like Dusty down back either..... Too many chip over the top kicks to no one!!!!!

A master stroke from the master accounting.
-
As Ive said previously - playing Dustin Martin down back is a good idea.....
.....if you have at least three other Dustin Martins in your side.....
-

Houli is the best air diver we have, Olympic standard

him and every other bloke that took possession off half back, but yeah, the problem was obviously caused by playing martin there at times.

how could anyone be happy with that. it was plain a simple pox.
But every time we have a loss, its the same olds carrying on as if they expect us to win every single game the world is about end when we lose.

We reverted to Wallace football last night - take possession, immediately prop, stop, run back, handball further back to a stationary option, then give no support or back up to that option. Repeat until 30-40 mts further away from your goals and under growing pressure then cough the ball up and watch the opposition run hard into clear space and deliver with urgency and precision to a one-on-one contest in their forward line. Simple and effective - worked brilliantly for us for the 5 years it took Wallace to ingrain it into our psyche.
Our biggest deficiencies last night imho:
Absolute refusal to run forward with the ball in hand.
Absolute refusal to provide a running option upfield to the ball carrier.
Disgraceful delivery into the forward line by our mids.
Complete inability (or desire) to keep our feet.
Zero pressure on their ball carrier.
And the annoying, frustrating and disappointing part is that these are all old traits; a direct consequence of attitude that I thought we had largely eliminated from our game. It has nothing at all to do with ability, skill or conditions.

Over-possessing garbage as well, they drive me insane

Yep, I forgot that one Froars! :thumbsup

modern day footy truly is shocking
KB is right, if the game continues like this, i would rather watch grass grow.
im all for KB , 2 on the bench like the game was years ago, and limit rotations/interchanges. this will bring back positional play and long kicking and get rid of the 36 onball brigade chasing the ball like little league
