Jon Anderson looks at three clubs; Richmond, Collingwood and Carlton after Round 1

JON Anderson runs the rule over three clubs hurting after disappointing round one losses.
RICHMOND
FORWARD FUNCTION: They went inside 50m 58 times for 19 scores (10.9). Gold Coast was 12.15 from 48 entries. So expect major tweaking this week with Jack Riewoldt more of a target.
SELECTION: Aaron Edwards would have been a viable option in greasy conditions. Ivan Maric was an obvious loss. Daniel Jackson may have reduced the influence of the little master, while Chris Knights and Jake King will surely return
CRUMBERS: The good sides in Fremantle (Walters and Ballantyne), Hawthorn (Breust and Rioli) are super effective whereas the Tigers haven’t had an elite small forward since Kevin Bartlett retired.
OUTLOOK: Lacked aggression which will be boosted by Jackson, King and Maric. Might have even been slightly ahead of themselves so not a bad early reminder.
LONG-TERM
The addition of Nick Vlastuin, Brandon Ellis, Reece Conca, Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin and rookie selection Dylan Grimes has helped set the club up for long-term success. But there is a collection of mid-tier types who must step up if the Tigers are going to seriously challenge for the top-four. They are David Astbury, Ben Griffiths Matt Dea, Kamdyn McIntosh, Todd Elton, Bradley Helbig and Brett O’Hanlon. Expectations are high of classy forward Ben Lennon and key big man Liam McBean.

Absolutely spot on...
I've said this many times - we lack good quick small forwards that kick goals and defend. We need two urgently.

Don't say it was greasy Jon, people will accuse you of using it as an excuse :lol

Greasy like a pizza.
In a pizza shop just driven into by a blind man.

This was pretty good. stuff we underrate this role in this day and age. Walters would kick 10 a game with a bomb it to Jack game plan.
