Daniel Jackson will play another VFL practice match this weekend and is a chance to return from a hamstring injury next week against the Western Bulldogs.
Brett Deledio finished the game in the forward line with Hardwick admitting his vice-captain grew sore towards the end.

King out
Lloyd/Banfield in
Pending injury/MRP...
-
Got to wonder about Foley.
Will we try someone else for King? Lloyd?
-
Just have to move on from Foley. Nothing but a depth player now.
Give Gordon a go.
-
INS: Lloyd, Arnott or Jacko
OUTS: Foley, Morris
*** I'd drop Grigg too but what's the point suggesting it because it will never happen; he's a favourite
-
Agree Morris is at risk of being dropped after last night's game.
-
Is Martin in trouble with the report? Didn't see it at the game.
-
Out: Foley, Conca
In: Jackson, Lloyd, Knights or Arnott
-
Foley is gone
Conca struggling
There the 2 outs
-
I'm probably the last to write a player off but after last night I finally agree that Foley is cooked.
In: Jackson
Out: Foley
-

Didn't see it and haven't watched the replay
But he doens't have any carry over points so he might only get slugged with a reprimand
-
Barring injuries
Out King
In Lloyd
-

Conca struggling

I think we need another crumber/avenue to goal. Edwards was pretty good last night but we need to capitalise more on the fall of the ball.
In: Lloyd, Jackson
Out: Newman, Foley (both cooked)
-
Those calling for Newman and Conca's heads , forget it. Dimma heaped the praise on those two at his after match presser. FWIW I thought Conca was ordinary. Murphy towelled him up.
In Jackson , Knights
Out - Foley , Grimes
-

Grigg was one of the better players last night. i suppose once you make your mind up about someone..........
...and if you think either of those two will do a better job than morris on an opposition small.....
-
Conca has had a layoff with a bad injury, will cut him some slack.
-
I actually thought King was good..
Foley, Newman out for Lloyd and Jackson. Arnott for Dusty if he goes.

Agree.

+1

Crap.
He's just average.
Def stuff foley off.
Newman as sub. Ha. That was a joke

I reckon they keep him in just to wind you up for all the membership hassles you cause them.
;D

I may cause them hassles
they cause me grief ;) ;D
-
Kingy played well till he was subbed off
Out S Edwards, Foley,
Ins, whoever can give more of a effort than them 2 ;D
-
Actually I thought Edwards was very good, particularly in close with his hands and at critical stages of the game.

Agree apart from that absolute howler he played ok
-
Depending on Injuries and suspensions…
Out: Foley (needs a full game or two)
In: Jackson (if fit) or Gordon (if not)
-

fell away badly in the second half hardly touched it and to top that half off he nearly cost us the game with his ineptitude. very ordinary player and we should be tryinmg to find better options but we wont. we would rather try and win with nediocre mature players who are taking us nowhere than try an inexperienced player with some upside but may offer less.
-
Outs- Grigg, Pettard, Houli, Conca (make the last two get some form at VFL level rather an AFL level)
Ins- Gordon, A. Edwards, Lloyd, Jackson
How much stronger at the contest are in the 'ins' than the 'outs'. We are as soft as butter when the game is in the balance.
-
What about Miles, has he drifted out of favour?? Everyone was all over him during the pre season?

Can't use him at all. He is still a rookie. We need a lon term injury before we can elevate him.

:yep
Foley obviously on the out anyway and is the invisible man as a sub. Gordan would make a good sub due to his pace and endurance which we desperately need as the game progresses. Lloyd would give us run and X Factor too :-\

Wouldn't endurance be useful for someone playing a whole game, not a quarter - 2 quarters

Daniel Jackson has played two VFL matches since returning from a hamstring injury and the midfielder is ready for an AFL recall. The 2013 club champion won 15 possessions and was a strong presence for the VFL Tigers, meaning he will likely return to run with Western Bulldogs captain Ryan Griffen on Saturday. Rookie midfielder Anthony Miles produced his second consecutive standout performance in the VFL, finishing with 24 possessions, four clearances and a goal. Versatile midfielder Matt McDonough (18 possessions) remains on the cusp of selection if injuries hit.

Not if it means moving any of our other midfielders, other than Foley, out of the side or even into the sub position at this stage. Gordan isn't ahead of them yet. He is a similar player to White for mine at this stage, maybe not quite as quick but definitely an athlete

Herald-Sun's Barometer Round 3
April 3, 2014
RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Nathan Foley is on thin ice after starting as the sub for the second week in a row. Jake King was the player subbed off but his forward pressure is crucial. Dylan Grimes had just four disposals against the Blues but should hold his spot, at least until Alex Rance returns.
ON THE CUSP: Daniel Jackson is ready to rumble after playing a full game in the VFL on Saturday (for 15 disposals). Anthony Miles won a heap of the ball, Liam McBean kicked four goals and Matt McDonough and Brad Helbig were named in the best in a two-point win against Essendon. But the game was soured by a string of late injuries, with Aaron Edwards’ knee the worst of them.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Not sure the win last Thursday night broke the Blues hoodoo but Damien Hardwick will bank the four points and move on to the Bulldogs, a team his side has a much better recent record against. Jackson for Foley is the only likely change. Then it’s the Pies in Round 4.

Foley out
Conca sub next week
conca needed and more valuable than Grigg

Cant believe we elevated the Big O instead of Miles, that was pee poor player management and decision making.
-
Deledio out, apparently he confirmed this on MMM

Have a look at what has happened at Bumberland though, Ryder out and they can't elevate Thurlow.
lol Bumbers.

Surely this rumour is rubbish? Cotch was at training today going by the photos.

If Hampson goes down, who rucks? Ty or Griff?
I think the decision was forced upon them by Maric being out for so long and not knowing when he will return exactly.
-

I don't think Thurlow is a rookie. Think he's on their list ?

According to the Bombers website, Thurlow is a rookie and he can be elevated.
Kreuzer gone for 3 months btw so the Blues will need to rely on Warnock and his brilliant goalkicking :lol.

LOL - yep, I agree...sorry WAT, think you went a little early with this one. hehe
But I agree, Miles would not look out of place on the senior list IMHO.

They should have put Maric on the LTI as soon as he did the injury so that the clock had already started ticking before he could return, then when he came back they could drop the Big O back.

I will still stand by what I said, it's round 3, this decision could still haunt us. Griff and Ty could of got us by with this game. I hope the Big O goes well but gee we are going in slow, very slow! Let's see how we handle the dogs run... :-\
-
Did anyone actually watch the Dogs at last week??
They kicked 2 goals for the first half of footy then run out of legs Galway through the srcond half!!
If they butcher the ball this week as much as they did last we will win by 20 goals.
They have no Forward line and I'm struggling to work out where there getting there midfield pace from everyone is talking??
stuff me there are some chicken littles on this site, the game won't even be close to being close, we will smash them!!
