Dustin Martin caught driving unregistered vehicle

Richmond was attempting to clarify whether or not Dustin Martin’s driver’s licence had been suspended after the footballer was caught potentially illegally driving an unregistered car on Monday.
The 22-year-old was pulled over by police and told the Jeep he was driving had not been registered. Martin was also told his licence had been suspended, although the player said he was not aware of that.
Richmond officials have referred the matter to Martin’s manager Craig Notman, Ralph Carr’s sport representative, who told the club that the status of Martin’s demerit points level remained unclear.
Although Jeep is a Richmond major sponsor, Martin’s car has come courtesy of a third party arrangement.
Richmond football boss Daniel Richardson said on Tuesday that the club would follow up the issue with its star midfielder but accepted the player was unaware of any driving suspension and would be unlikely to take the matter further.

Tigers unlikely to punish Martin after car incident
Callum Twomey and Matt Thompson

RICHMOND is unlikely to take action against Dustin Martin after he was caught driving an unregistered vehicle while potentially unlicensed.
The star Tiger star was pulled over by police on Monday in Melbourne's Stonnington area driving the Jeep, which is believed to have come via a private arrangement.
Richmond is working with Martin's management to resolve the matter, although it is understood the 22-year-old will not face further sanction from the club.
It's understood Martin may have been unaware if he had reached his demerit point limit.
Jeep is Richmond's major sponsor.
It came just days after Martin kicked the match-winning goal for Richmond against Carlton on Thursday night at the MCG.
Martin had a turbulent end to last season with the club, having threatened to walk out on the Tigers following drawn-out contract negotiations.
He toured Greater Western Sydney's facilities but returned to Punt Road to sign a two-year deal.
It came after a strong season, which saw him finish second in Richmond's best and fairest. He also polled 16 Brownlow Medal votes.

-
Woah he threatened us. :lol
Best thing out of the article is it says he now has a sports manager even if it is still Ralph carr's business.

Cops to Dusty - " your car is unregistered son "
Dusty to cops - " but I bought a Jeep ? "
* pause... as Dusty does a runner *
Cop 1 to cop 2 - " It's ok , let him go , he bought a Jeep "
Cop 2 to cop 1 - " He bought a Jeep ? "
Cop 1 to cop 2 - " he bought a Jeep "
Disclaimer - In case they didn't make it clear enough Dusty did not in fact buy a Jeep. It was part of a 3rd party arrangement. Cue the next Dusty story !

Driving an unregistered model of our No.1 sponsor's product without a licence is not one of Dusty's finest moments. In fact this stuff up is Schulz-like in it's stupidity. I demand a 5 goal, 40 touch game against the Maggies in 2 weeks as penance and all will be forgiven my son.

RICHMOND has confirmed it will not punish Dustin Martin after he was caught driving an unregistered vehicle potentially unlicensed.
The Tigers told AFL.com.au they had spoken with Martin about his latest indiscretion, but have decided not to take further action against the star midfielder.
Martin was pulled over by police on Monday in Melbourne's Stonnington area, driving a Jeep which is believed to have come via a private arrangement.
Jeep is Richmond's major sponsor.
It is understood Martin may have been unaware if he had reached his demerit point limit.
The controversial midfielder trained strongly at Punt Road on Thursday in the lead up to Saturday's clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.
Martin was cleared by the Match Review Panel for an off-the-ball incident arising out of the Tigers' hard-fought 12-point win over Carlton last Friday night.
The 22-year-old collected a career-high 35 disposals against the Western Bulldogs in round three last season.
