What a ripper this game will be! A team that got thrashed by 20 goals taking the on the in form Coburg who got spanked by 12 goals
Great reason to get to Piranha Park (shouldn't that be Gummy Shark (aka Flake) Park) ;D
Terrific, just terrific TM

Not going either, hoping for a draw.....lol
As long as our kids do well it doesnt really matter.
-
Showdown. Personally I hope Coburg win by a point with a kick after the siren. Coburg didn't hold us back, they gave us a place to play our crappy reserves players for many years. And they got nothing but abuse from Richmond supporters. Good luck to Coburg
-
Stuff Coburg and Stuff Phil Cleary and so say I.

true, this.
I think Richmond deserve the title of Veruca Salts more than the bumblers
-
Yes demanding higher standards after only 32 years of crap......what petulance.

Not sure if Alroy played Rd1 but he certainly played in the last practice match @ Tullamarine, he was also @ the VFL launch

Relton Roberts?

An opportunity for some of the boys to put their hands up.
:cheers
-
An opportunity for some of the boys to put their hands up.
:cheers
Just hoping they don't lose tbh. Must win game. Even our ressies are getting bagged on TV. :lol
-
So they should
Losing by that amount is embarrassment
-
An opportunity for some of the boys to put their hands up.
:cheers
We're playing on Thursday night, '65. The only ones who will put their hands up today will be the ones that don't start. Even half a game might be asking too much.
-
Is there a video stream ?
-
Was on the headphones last few weeks doing something
Don't know what though
He didn't know either ::)
-
3-4 goal breeze today with Coburg having it in the first quarter.
VFL Radio on now.
-
First goal to Coburg in just 2 mins.
-
VFL side has the seniors disease. Kicking short to 50/50 contests.
Foley centres it from the boundary and Wall goals.
Rich 6
Cob 6
10 mins.
-
Big O's set shot misses everything and even doesn't make the distance. However the 23rd man Gleeson has a ping and goals.
Rich 13
Cob 6
-
Am at Coburg
Doubt whether it's a 3-4 goal breeze
Tiges look sharp
Yellow jumpers look crap
-
Just repeating what the commentators are saying Jack.
McBean set shot from 45m out. Gives off to McIntosh who gives off to Young. Goal.
Rich 20
Cob 6
-
Foley out of the centre but can't find anyone. Foley gets it back 65m out, takes his man on and measures the kick to the Big O 30m out. Better kick this time from the big man and goals :gotigers.
Rich 26
Cob 6
-
Commentators: "O'Hanlon prominent"
Lennon's kick-in apparently ended up in the centre :o. So Jack may be right about the breeze.
Loose checking by our defence allows a set shot 20m out to Coburg. Luckily it misses everything.
26 - 7
20 mins Q1
-
Coburg player down off the ball holding his face. No one saw what happened. Hopefully not another dumb report.
The ball has been in the Coburg's forward half for the past 5 mins.
We finally clear and King gets a free. Off to Miles who kicks towards goal. It falls short but Bathie gathers to snap a goal :gotigers.
Rich 32
Cob 8
-
Coburg turnover and Bathie has to McIntosh in space, who runs inside 50 and drills it :gotigers.
Rich 38
Cob 8
-
Haven't heard much of Mcdoghnuts
-
Quarter time
Richmond 6.2-38
Coburg 1.2-8
Goals: Stephenson, McIntosh, Young, Wall, Bathie, Gleeson.
-
That's Macintosh first ever straight kick
-
Haven't heard much of Mcdoghnuts
Yep. Only heard his name once in defence when his tackle spun the Coburg player 360 but it wasn't paid holding the ball.
Commentators saying Miles is carving Coburg up. A ball magnet. Foley, O'Hanlon, McIntosh, Darrou in defence, Big O of the other RFC guys have been mentioned the most on the commentary. A number of our VFL listed players are doing well - Bathie, Wall and Waite - apparently.
-
Miles is the best player in the VFL.
-
McDonough to O'Hanlon to Foley. Kick inside 50 is marked by Coburg though. They run it up the other end for a set shot goal after we give away a free for too high.
38 - 14
3 mins Q2
-
Was hoping McDonough would get the call up vs Brisbane but seems he's having a stinker
-
Miles should of been elevated before Big O...... :banghead :banghead
I am still dumbfounded at the decision... :-\
-
Was hoping McDonough would get the call up vs Brisbane but seems he's having a stinker
No chance on 4 day break.
-
Why are we all hinging our hopes on McDonough? How do we know he's going to make it, Miles has done more than him, it's just a pity we can't call him up.
-
Breeze has lifted and Coburg have it. Throw-in 25m out for Coburg. Batsanis' clearing kick is held up in the breeze and marked by Coburg 45m out. Thankfully the kick misses.
Commentators: "King hasn't done much yet. Stats will be pretty low"
Coburg on top with the ball mainly spending time in their forward half. They've kicked another goal and two points.
39 - 23
-
Was hoping McDonough would get the call up vs Brisbane but seems he's having a stinker
No chance on 4 day break.
Lol so we'll play our old spuds again :banghead
-
McIntosh to Batsanis to Foley who goes inside 50 to the leading McBean. To the line and Bathie marks on the goal line by the point post. Across the goal to Wall 15m out. Goal :gotigers
Rich 45
Cob 23
17 mins Q2
-
From the stoppage, Foley on a run down the wing over to Wall who finds Elton. However set shot is OOTF.
Commentators: "Foley doing a fantastic job - finding the footy and breaking the lines."
-
Sounds like Foley will be called up and to be totally honest I think we need him!
-
Commentators - "Tough day at the office for Banfield so far" after he was caught holding the ball.
Half-time
Richmond 6.2 7.3-45
Coburg 1.2 3.6-24
Goals: Wall 2, Stephenson, McIntosh, Young, Bathie, Gleeson
-
Mcdonugh with 1 touch to half time
-
McDonough had a few touches that quarter playing in defence.
Nothing much to report about that quarter apart from us containing Coburg on the scoreboard to just two goals with the breeze.
Miles and Foley would be the best so far of our AFL listed guys. Waite would be B.O.G. of our VFL listed blokes.
Sounds like Foley will be called up and to be totally honest I think we need him!
If he is it'll have to be as the sub given the 4 day break.
-
Stats to Half-time:
Young 15
Foley 13
Miles 13
O'Hanlon 13
Darrou 11 kicks
-
More stats to Half-time:
Darrou 12
McDonough 10
183 - 145 disposals.
124 - 88 kicks
59 - 57 hballs
107 - 69 Uncontested possies
61 - 67 contested possies
66 - 32 marks
33 - 9 hitouts (26 to Big O)
-
McDonough in the centre square to start the 3rd qtr.
We have the breeze this qtr.
-
McDonough to Darrou whose kick lands nicely for McGough who runs and nails it :gotigers
Rich 51
Cob 24
-
Coburg goal against the run of play.
51 - 30
12 mins Q3
Rain on its way according to the commentators.
-
Darrou switches play to Contin but he can't gather. Helbig does to Miles to HF but Elton slips over and it's a throw-in. Miles high kick but it's off hands right by the point post. Miles to O'Hanlon to Barlow to Young but it's knocked through for a point.
52 - 30
-
No one subbed out of the game at half-time, OE?
-
Sound like Darrou is going well.
-
We get it back and the kick inside 50 hits comes off the pack to Gleeson off to Foley but his hurried kick is OOTF.
We keep it in our forward half and it's another throw-in. Free to Batsanis just outside 50 but his kick can't be marked and it trickles out of bounds. Foley comes barging through but it's again OOTF.
We keep it in again for another throw-in. McIntosh this time has a ping but it's a point.
53 - 30
17 mins Q3
-
No one subbed out of the game at half-time, OE?
Not that I'm aware of Muscles. All our main blokes sound like they are still out there playing.
-
50m to Kingy smartly runs forward and plays on quickly and finds Barlow who goals :gotigers
Rich 9.5-59
Cob 4.6-30
20 mins Q3
-
Coburg with the easy quick reply ::).
Rich 59
Cob 36
-
A huge let off there. Coburg player was running into goal but wanted to pass it off and stuffed up.
We run it up the other end and O'Hanlon nicely finishes with the difficult set shot :gotigers
Rich 65
Cob 36
-
Helbig advantage but his kick inside 50 floats over the back for a point.
66 - 36
5 mins left with the breeze.
-
Wall inside 50 and good pressure leads to a throw-in deep. McBean's blind snap is OOTF.
Coburg run it up the other end but we hold up and counter coast to coast with Kingy's 65m kick landing with Banfield. Misses.
67 - 36
-
Coburg turnover but Kingy's around the body kick off one step from 48m falls short.
I must have added a point that missed everything. Score is according to the commentators:
3/4 time
Richmond 6.2 7.3 10.6-66
Coburg 1.2 3.6 5.6-36
Goals: Wall 2, Stephenson, O'Hanlon, McIntosh, Young, Bathie, Gleeson, Barlow, McGough
-
We had it forward enough especially in the last 10 mins but didn't make anywhere the most of it to finish Coburg off on the scoreboard. Coburg with the breeze in the last.
-
McIntosh in the centre at the start of the last.
McBean now playing behind the footy.
Point to Coburg.
66 - 37
-
Good mark against two opponents to the Big O from the kick-in. Commentators just said he's rucked all game and dominated.
Coburg off half-back run it down for a goal.
66 - 43
-
We get it forward but Elton just can't hold onto the pack mark.
McIntosh to O'Hanlon to McIntosh goes long. King gathers and gets a free for too high plus 50m. Goal from point blank range :gotigers.
Commentators saying "Kingy has worked hard this afternoon"
Rich 72
Cob 43
-
O'Hanlon moved to HF midway during the 3rd qtr. Played well at HB and now doing well at HF according to the commentators.
Miles to Helbig to O'Hanlon to Elton to McGough. Mcbean drops it but gathers and it eventually lands in the hands of Bathie 30m out. Goal :gotigers
Rich 12.7-79
Cob 6.7-43
12 mins Q4
-
Lennon deep to McDonough to Darrou to Batsanis who plays on and hands to Barlow towards Bathie. Throw-in 55m out. Foley's quick kick inside but McIntosh and Elton collide but McIntosh receives a free. Misses.
80 - 43
-
Flat game now. Both sides making mistakes.
Tiger defenders asleep gifts Coburg a goal.
80 - 49
17 mins Q4
-
Commentators - "Banfield has fought through his earlier troubles in the game. Worked hard"
Point to Coburg.

Commentators:
"Richmond should bring Lennon in this week for his debut. All class off half-back."

McGough cuts through traffic and it sails through for another goal :gotigers
Rich 92
Cob 50

Coburg turnover and Young finds Foley 35m out on a 45 degree angle. Misses.

Coburg 1.2 3.6 5.6 7.9-51
Goals: Bathie 3, Wall 2, McGough 2, Stephenson, O'Hanlon, McIntosh, King, Young, Gleeson, Barlow
-
Thanks for the real-time commentary, OE. Highly appreciated!
It read like there was much better endeavour than last week. Can't see too many playing ones on four days break though.
-
No probs Muscles :cheers.
Commentators' post-match thoughts:
Miles was best on ground for first 1.5 qtrs but didn't have as much as big an impact in the second half.
Lennon impressive.
Big O dominant in the ruck.
Foley toiled hard and his ball use showed over the course of the game.
Coach Tim Clarke would be happy with what he got out of his VFL listed players - Young, Bathie, Wall, McGough, Waite.
-
Commentators:
"I would like to see the selection committee pull the trigger and play Lennon on Thursday. All depends on the 5 day break."
"If I was promoting two players into the Richmond AFL line-up, it would be Lennon and Foley."
"Like the look of McIntosh which Richmond are developing into a tall midfielder at 192cm tall."
"Votes:
3. Foley
2. O'Hanlon
1. Coburg player."
-

Thanks OE, appreciate it mate.

Ended up going for a couple of qtrs.
Thought Foley was very good
Was staggered at 3qtr though
One of the great things about VFL footy is being able to stand around the huddles and listen in.
Can't do it with the Tigers though .. We rope off our huddle, keeping fans a distance way. First time I've ever seen it and will admit I was disgusted by it. Not in the spirit of the comp and what it is supposed to be about.
Seems we are on a roll at the minute in the stupidity stakes

Jacki injured????
Had ice on his groin after the game.
In the HUN this morning said he had a sore hip again
-
Was also at the game.
Thought Big O was absolutely dominate in the ruck...took some good grabs round the ground
my learned friend and I spent a large part of the game following Nathan around.what we saw was although that calf muscle has bulked up its still noticeably smaller than the other one.We also noticed that when he took off he would do it with a bit of a skip and we were wondering whether that was because one leg is weaker than the other and he trying to compensate for that.in general play he got a lot of the ball and did see him on at least 3 occasions burst out of a pack with the ball.
Thought mc donut was excellent.what I also like about this kid is that he takes a backward step to no one.
Thought Kingy was great..ran and tackeled hard, back to his best.
lennon did some nice things and is a very good kick.Dont know if I agree with the others who say he should play seniors this week. But I guess now might be a good time considering the dearth of talent across half forward.
saw a red head who we think was Banfield and thought meh about his game.
Mc bean presented well but didn't see a hell of a lot of the ball.....needs game time I think.
Elton took some good grabs.
many of the others I didn't recognise and as I didn have a record with me ,didn't know who they were.
Also thought the crowd was very good today
.

U need the
Myles's Deas and lennons to come in and embarrass the so called leaders by blitzing.
IMO Newman and co should be dropped for ever.

Orren Stephenson dominated in the ruck, with Richmond producing 89-28 hitouts for the afternoon.

Nathan Foley was superb all day for the Tigers. He was instrumental around stoppages, ran hard with and without the ball, broke tackles and set a high standard with his delivery inside 50. He finished with 20 possessions and eight clearances.
Anthony Miles, another standout performer for Richmond also finished the game with eight clearances. The midfielder continued his strong run of form, racking up 26 disposals for the game.
Brett O’Hanlon and Ben Lennon had their best games of the year, collecting 24 and 17 disposals respectively.
Ben Darrou (22 disposals) was also impressive.
COBURG 1.2 3.6 5.6 7.9 (51)
RICHMOND 6.2 7.3 10.6 14.9 (93)
Goals: Bathie 3, Wall 2, McGough 2, King, McIntosh, Stephenson, O’Hanlon, Barlow, Young, Gleeson

we nearly beat them by as much as Port Melbourne did.
-
Foley will definitely come in, or should do, being dominant around the stoppages is what we need!!

Again I doubt anyone will come in from the ressies after only a 4 day break.
Maybe a sub position but I doubt for a full game.

Depends. If Foley didn't get battered and bruised or injured he should be right to go. Players in other elite sports can play several games a week. It's all about the bruising sustained and the freedom of movement that your body has after a game. Many people focus on the number of days break and refuse to see what it is that doesn't allow a player to play. I would say whoever is fresh after the Coburg game who played well should come in for Vickery, Grigg, Jackson(injured), Newman.

Was there on Sunday.
Foley was OK, only three of his passes hit the target! They were only 15-20 metre kicks! I like Foley and would love to see him break the lines more often! I question his pace as he didn't show that on Sunday.
Coburg aren't good!
Helbig, I would play him in a back pocket or a tagging role. He is tough at the football.
O'Hanlon, good long kick, nice marker, needs to get a bit more of it.
McDonough, he has a go and was good.
Lennon, just play this cub on the half-forward line! He has class about him which we need!
King, no influence!
McBean, Elton: disappointing! Didn't get much of it!
Darrou, OK, has promise!
Miles, he got more clearances then the whole Coburg players! He reads the tap well!
Stephenson, does nothing around the ground, just wins the hit-outs. Doesn't jump to mark a football and is always grounded.
A few VFL "top-up players" are good!

Richmond VFL coach Tim Clarke's summary:
VIDEO: http://www.afl.com.au/video?guid=633310
and Clarke's summary of how our AFL-listed players performed against Coburg:
Nathan Foley
Was fantastic, providing real spark early in the game. A quality midfielder at AFL level and continues his impressive attitude and work ethic in the VFL. Although his performance was just standard by his measures, those watching the game thought he was exceptional.
Brett O’Hanlon
Great to see O’Hanlon find some form. He’s a beautiful user of the ball and works really hard. Kicked an important goal in the third quarter against the momentum.
Anthony Miles
Was again the Tigers’ best ball-winner, and has been outstanding inside over the last six to eight weeks. Every time he plays he gets clearances and really helps to get the ball to the outside players.
Ben Lennon
Still developing really well and is playing through half back and the midfield area at the moment. A beautiful kick, but still needs to work on choosing the right option. Likely to show his face at senior level in the next three or four weeks.

Todd Banfield
Didn’t have his best game this week. Has been playing a variety of roles, both forward and back, over the last few weeks. Will look for a big performance from him this week.
Jake King
Worked tirelessly as a forward during the game. Provided much needed pressure and caused a heap of turnovers. He hit the scoreboard once but could’ve kicked two or three goals on the day.
Brad Helbig
Was fantastic across half back and through the midfield, provided plenty of hardness and hit his kicks this week. He set the scene in the second half in terms of his defensive acts.
Kamdyn McIntosh
One of the best games he’s played for the footy club. He had a negating role on one of their key players and managed to get 22 touches himself, and have three shots on goal. A real breakthrough performance.
Liam McBean
Was exciting in patches but the game wasn’t really for key forwards, and he didn’t really have much of an impact on the game. He had a couple of shots on goal but we expect more.
Matt McDonough
Was very good through half back and midfield, providing plenty of exciting run and carry. Was very good around the ball with very clean hands and was able to get the ball to the outside players.
Orren Stephenson
Was fantastic, finishing the game with 62 hitouts. Didn’t get a heap of the ball around the ground, which he can do, but he was one of the best players in terms of impact.
Todd Elton
Competed hard all day and was unlucky a lot of times on the lead. Seems like he’s not too far from a breakout game and helps Orren out in the ruck at different stages.
Ben Darrou
Another terrific game, holding a strong position down back. Turned over many balls and ended up with 25 touches, which is an outstanding job for a full back.
