We will know early tomorrow seeing the VFL are playing around 2pm.  ;D

Though I reckon they will keep one out of the VFL as an emergency

Also, wouldn't have been surprised if Thomas was dropped if he wasn't injured, was poor last week

not sure where hes at but id have a edwards in for petterd, lennon for  s edwards, and helbig for houli. such a shame elton isnt ready because id be looking to stretch em with 3 tall forwards as well.
so let me get this straight. we play griffiths and riewoldt as kpps but we do what we lament all last yr and the start of this byr we play griffiths in the same role / way we did with vickery. wasnt it uber impottant to play vickery permanently at home but this sort of structure  goes out the window with vickery it seems.

rabble  thats what the r stands for.

In: Lennon, McDonough Miles, Rance, Lids, Maric
Out: S.Edwards, petterd, Newman, Grigg, Thomas, Grimes

Then give the side with lennon, Miles, McDonough, Lloyd, Gordon, Arnott time to gel, also continue to get games into Griffiths and Astbury. By seasons end we'll have a pretty good indication of who we think will make it and wont. Enough with giving games to the same retreads who continually let us down, except for when they dominate against the likes of Brisbane of course woahh

The trouble with this side for me is I'd like to see everyone on the bench get a game. The three outs should be Grigg, Petterd and Shane Edwards. To name all these fresh faces and then not play them is just one big tease.

Just quietly the side is garbage compared to where we need it to be.

3 of our absolute key players are missing in Rance, Lids and Maric just for a starting point.

Just quietly

Going by Loui in the VFL thread, it'll be McDonough in for Thomas you would think. Helbig now down at Frankston either but I don't see him coming in unless we have a late out.

You could still do the same with McDonough as he's been playing well at half-back in the ressies this year. He was stiff to be dropped after round 1 in the first place.

I don't think Helbig will make it sadly after 4 years on our list and still yet to break into the seniors. McDonough is the more naturally talented footballer for mine.

Agreed, like helbigs grunt but think he lacks polish. Would love to see him get one more crack at it as a lockdown tagger.

Remember Shane Tuck at his worst - Helbig is a poor man's version of that.  Still prefer him to McGoo Medalist Thomarse though.

surely this side is a better one than that what beat the hawks last year.

missing from that team are;

mcguanne - complete dud who could easily be replaced by claws grandma
white - glass half full type easily replaced by a plethora of state league players
tuck - a player who the opposition let get the ball because he turned it over all the time.
foley- injury hack past his short lived best
stephenson - old man hack
rance - overrated hack who has a plethora of negatives
deledio - too easily tagged out of the game. no great loss
maric - well to be honest his 2013 output was way down from 2012.

Surely we are better side without these blokes playing?

HMM. Lets see. have we gained or lost with the following

mcguane - replaced with who exactly. vickery griffiths.
white - replaced with who- hmm banfield, lloyd.
tuck - replaced by thomas. at least in thomas case when compared to so many others he at least competes.  has been better than much of tucks 2013.
foley - remains way below what hes produced in the past.
stephenson - replaced by hampson so why keep him. is that a win.
rance - a poor mans 1v1 yet we miss him. what does that say about those who have replaced him??? loose man chaplin and softie grimes. at least astbury plays 1v1.
deledio - we miss his run and skills just one man.  who did we replace him with ????????
maric - well his big body and competetivness is greatly missed even the 2013 ivan.

Well, if thats the case theres alot on the line for Helbig. 4 years in the system and injury prone. Needs to show 'something' as a mid sized player beyond 1 or 2 tackles a game.

speaking of injury prone how injury prone is the turd, very rarely strings  more than 3 games together. What with him and Knights its two spots we could have been developing some other kids.

Not so sure.

White: have definitely missed his pace this year. Last year played well against the Hawks. Would not see Lloyd as his replacement.
Rance: Provided enormous drive from backline last year. Really missing that drive.
Maric: solely missed.
Deledio: solely missed
Tuck: played well against Hawks last year. Very good mark. Could kick goals. Thomas not got this.
Even McGuane played okay against the Hawks last year.

rance - overrated hack who has a plethora of negatives

Harsh, we have had no run out of the backline, admittedly his kamikaze style gets us into trouble sometimes but I'd much rather that than the way we 'switch', which takes 4 kicks, with a pause in between to check the results from R6 at Caulfield, before we start to try and move it forward.
