INS: Deledio, Rance, Edwards, Thomas, Stephenson, Vickery,
OUTS: Griffiths, Arnot, Grimes
Got to say:
Pathetic Tigers, pathetic but expected :banghead
-
Full team:
B: Chaplin, Astbury, Rance
HB: Houli, Newman, Morris
C: Grigg, Jackson, Conca
HF: Martin, A. Edwards, Deledio
F: S. Edwards, Riewoldt, Petterd
R: Hampson, Ellis, Cotchin
IC from: McDonough, Vlastuin, Stephenson, Gordon, Lloyd, Vickery, Thomas
In: Deledio, Rance, Thomas, A. Edwards, Vickery, Stephenson
Out: Grimes, Griffiths, Arnot
-
?????? GRIFF, really :banghead
This is just stuffed. Rance will be underdone as will Lids.
I don't believe this, honestly Hardwick is following the Wallace era to a tee....stuffhead.
-
Hahahahahahahahaha
:dancing :dancing :jump :jump
-
Said last Sunday that Griffiths would be dropped because heaven forbid he had a bad game -v- the
Hawks and Vickery would be back
There in lies our problem, favourites can play multiple shockers and nothing happens
Blokes like Griffs play one bad game and out they go
:banghead :banghead
Pathetic
-
How does S.Edwards and Lloyd even appear in the team
Amazing stuff !!
-
Club can get stuffed
Not a further cent am I giving, even if they pull off a win which they wont ive just had enough of their poor decisions.
-
Don't even bother Jack
They must be popping ecstasy pills down at punt Rpad each Thursday
No idea
-
stuffen Mormon losers!!
-
I'll save my anger for after the game on Sunday.
If they somehow manage to pull this off I'll bow to Hardwick and the match committee's decisions.
However right now I am completely baffled.
-
"There in lies our problem, favourites can play multiple shockers and nothing happens

Pathetic"
....perfectly said WP
-
Griffiths is very stiff and I hope it does not affect his confidence. Rance for Chaplin was the no brainer but like a few others he will never be dropped whilst the current coaching staff are still around. I am happy for Grimes to work on his consistency in the seconds for a few weeks as its needed. Petterd, Newman and Grigg still in the team...not good! Rance and Lids will make us better, much better.
-
Not a bad side just quietly, players picked on form :shh
-
.hampson must be doubtful is Big O selected
Also..what time will this weeks streaker appear
-
That's disgusting. I'd cop the others but not Vickery. Get stuffed.
-
Why wouldn't you play Miles now he can be elevated? That's the strangest decision IMO??
Lloyd Chrismas and Harry Dunn running the RFC! :lol
-
Am I missing something? Is it to late this week or something to elevate Miles? Or is this just dumb!
-
Predictable scapegoating of the usual fall guys.
Some apparently have to improve exponetially with each game they play from day one just to stay in the side, whilst others can serve up crap for as long as they like. More important to prove you nailed those trades & high draft picks, that "moneyball" is a "success" and you were right to extend certain player's contracts than it is to develop players or try and actually pick the best side.
RFC - were mediocrity is its own reward.

Sorry , yes he should be dropped for sure , before griff, but he didn't do much to grab his chance by the horns either
-
Geelong squad:

WTF?
He played in forward line that never saw the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few times it came in so haphazardly that Jack Titus and Michael Roach would have had trouble getting their hands on the ball. The other few times it was only kicked to Jack and Griff did the right thing and didn't compete with Jack, which is one thing that Tyrone does ALL the bloody time.
The rest of the time he played in the ruck and I thought was better than Hampson.
So what chance did he have?
Do you think Vickery grabbed anything in his two VFL games? He was ORDINARY to say the least.
-
Looks like I missed the inb4 rants post

Club can get stuffed

I hoping they lose.

What a farce our club has turned into. 7 games ago we were walking out in a final with 100k and were looking like we had finally achieved some form of success. How quickly it has turned.
Griff has been superb thus far this year and we bring in effing Aaron Edwards who played around the ground for the 2s. Not to mention Vickery.
Absolute circus football department at Punt Road. :rollin :rollin :rollin
Won't bother attending the game when we can't stand by a consistent selection policy.
-
Griffiths > Edwards/Stephenson and Vickery.
Vickery, what a stuffing joke. Absolutely pathetic :banghead :banghead
-
hhhhaaaarrrggghhhhh hhhhhhaaaarrrrrgggghhhh hhhhhhhhaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh. oboy oboy the rabble footy club just became even more of a rabble. not even i thought it was possible.
sorry to say people but hardwicks reign is mirroring both frawleys and wallaces in almost every way.
this weeks team should look very close to this. there are no if buts or maybes. we just have to play younger blokes and see what they have to offer. we can no longer reward mediocrity.
trouble with this is we have to be prepared to lose games in the short term and they just arent prepared to do that.
it seems its better to do what we always do in playing mature mediocre players hoping things will be different rather than doing the hard yards with kids and untried players who just may have something more to offer in the long term.

Hilarious that the club comes under fire regarding drafting of recycled rubbish and we bring in 3 players who were drafted from other clubs.
Hilarious.
-
Hardwick is code for Softdick.
Vickery has been turning it on has he for the ressies?
Yes lets drop Griff because Ty's inclusion will be lost in the sea of 32 year skata cycle when the cats give us our annual ungloved and non lubed rectal exam.
Titch Edwards please?
Grigg see above.
Newman my 3 yr old daughter shows more leadership at kinder.
Chaplin yep aha aha.
Lets not promote Miles yeah can see the logic. :help
Why would'nt you bring back Rance and Lids after the bye? :-\
Heaven help the club if either Rance or Lids get injured on Sunday because of not being fully fit and the club smacking of desperation. May as well change the forum name to Chernobyl. Last week was just a standard 3 Mile Island.
Griff feel sorry for the kid. Honestly do.
Can now see why we land no big fish or go for them club wants success on the cheap and not prepared to sacrifice cash and preserve the status of some less than ordinary footballers.
Plop plop plop the 32 year skata cycle is in full swing. Finals footy sometime between 2022-25 if all things go as scheduled now and Dimma leaves some time during 2016 or at the end.
Dimwit philosophy from 2010 right out the window. Tokenistic but then again everything we do is.

Stand corrected but hardly setting the world on fire BJ to deserve a recall. :thumbsup
Hardly inspiring to say the least.
17 or 13 he is a pea heart until otherwise proven different.
-
Ok I must have been mistaken I understood tv had 17 possies 8 marks and 3 goals in vfl last week ::)
Whoopie bloody do! Sounds like a typical "Cameo King" performance
The week before at VFL he was poor, lacked interest not to mention intensity
So as is the norm, he plays one reasonable game and gets rewarded.
Griff played poorly last week but that's the first bad one he has had this season and he gets dropped.
What message is sending?
That's the issue here, we have far too many players that play poorly week after week but don't get dropped.
Then we have bloke who's busting a gut, plays 1 poor game and gets flicked
Pathetic

First bad one, which one was the good one :lol

I think we have a huge problem at CHF...nobody is really standing up in that position.Mc bean might be the answer long term but he really aint making the most of the opportunity that has presented itself there.maybe the club is desperate for a win and thinks ty might get them over the line
-
First bad one, which one was the good one :lol
You're a shocker BJ.
You have absolutely no idea. Really.
-
BJ played on many forwards in his time..cut most of them down to size

Only the ones that had hands like steel traps just quietly. :lol :rollin :lol

Can not believe griff is dropped holy poo !!!! How can we expect to develop guys if they play one not so great game and get dropped!!!! Vickery kicked 3 goals against a vfl side big woop, should be kicking 10 if the praise hardwick gives him is true. Griff is dynamic. Attacks the pack, huge leg. What does vickery offer ?!? Pointing fingers and pee weak jumper punches. Mark my words if we don't keep playing griff he will find another club and become a great player. Truely shocking by the RFC. I am stuffing over the treatment of our players.
-

reckon bj is right in one sense. griffiths has not set the world on fire and certainly has to improve. that imo is about all hes got right though.
thing isgriffiths has shown more than enough atm to be persevered with.
on vickery the lesson to be learnt for him is not to get a few cheap goals and a few extra cheap possesions which lets face it is all he did last week in the ressies.
it all about playing with intensity aggression at the ball doing the 1%ers and taking contested marks. until he does these type of things for a whole game he should not get a game.
the big blokes dont have to get heaps of possions or kick bags of goals to be effective. in fact its moree desirable they consistently do the little things well and the rest is a flow on effect.
tyrone plays as if its just going to happen as if its his right to play at the top level. for as long as he doesnt have to work he will be a failure at afl level.
id argue atm griffiths may not kick the goals but his contribution is far greater in almost every other aspect of the game and he also needs to improve.
-
"it all about playing with intensity aggression at the ball doing the 1%ers and taking contested marks"
Griff has done that. Taken 12 contested marks for the year and battled like a warrior. Needs to get a bit more ball but it's not as if we're putting it down his throat. Feel sorry for him, I really do. Hope he doesn't spit it but I wouldn't blame him if he did. Hardwick can go stuff himself

You were capt for a while there weren't u coach :lol

I hope Geelong destroys us on the weekend and hopefully they destroy Hardwicks coaching career and that of his assistants as well. The sooner they are out the better. Its a disgrace whats happening with selections and how the team is playing.

What we do know though G is that TV has played some pretty accomplished footy at senior level. It's fair to say after a fortnight in the vfl with a dose of leather poisoning that he s a lot closer to owning it than griff floundering with his 6-8 lousy possies a week with his season highlight clutch mark over Jeff garlett ......just keepin it real :shh
-
You want Geelong to destroy us?..is this the bizzaro world we are living in
IMHO it would be the best thing that can happen for us and that is for the people running the RFC to understand that they are on the road to nowhere. They are going down the same failed track of the last 3 decades. I hope Geelong beat the crap out of us on the weekend so that the coaches and administrators can finally wake up to themselves. They are taking Richmond back years the way they are going.

That is ridiculous.

yep i reckon your right there. how does one put it. seems most of our talls lack a real physical presence ivan being the obvious exception.
giffiths is having a dip though and i think if played will improve.

What are you on about? Bar? What the?
I asked if watched games. You said you hadn't missed one though you clearly have missed at least one because you didn't go to the Pies game because of a bit of rain. So you are watching via TV which I said so many times doesn't show you everything.
So the "stinking detail" as you call it is what the TV gives you in a limited space rather than what is going on the entire field and not people are doing off the ball or what they are doing with 2nd or 3rd efforts
That's what Griff's been giving us, 2nd, 3rd efforts, defensive acts, etc. The things Vickery are notorious for not giving us.

Turned 29 a few weeks ago. They don't need a replacement, they'll just get Griffo home and play him along side the Sarge. Double the stuffing nightmare for us

Well you re being pedantic, when you said watch I didn't read that as meaning in the flesh , some games I have watched live from the big screen. Note I said watched . Exactly. The sooner they fail the better. Lets see them made accountable. A 100+ point loss and they'll be shaking like Michael J Fox
-
Absolute disgrace that Ty has walked right back into the side after 1 mediocre and 1 average performance in the 2's.

When I watch stick flicks I look at the action I don't notice what colour the sheets or the decor is.
Live is much better. ;D

Club has ruined TV reputation by effectively creating another whipping boy because it's quiet obvious that the fact his old man is part of the inner sanctum he gets looked after. It's junior footy stuff.

100% correct.
And was meant to work on his "defensive side", didn't do anything to suggest he improved that.
Didn't deserved a game. Lennon should be playing. Hardwick doesn't want to play a first gamer against Geelong. No faith in talent Hardwick, thinks Grigg, Petterd, Newman, Thomas, Jackson, Shane Edwards will save him :banghead

Exactly. Its actually ridiculous.

Henderson but nice try

Said last Sunday that Griffiths would be dropped because heaven forbid he had a bad game -v- the
Hawks and Vickery would be back
There in lies our problem, favourites can play multiple shockers and nothing happens
Blokes like Griffs play one bad game and out they go
:banghead :banghead
Pathetic
Agree. A young player like Arnot gets punished but Grigg survives.
-
Absolute disgrace that Ty has walked right back into the side after 1 mediocre and 1 average performance in the 2's.
and once again teachers pets don't get touched. They've lost the plot down there. Fug em

Lennon was supposed to be in the extended squad. Wasn't selected. Need to reward players who are playing well. Hardwick isn't

Well you re being pedantic, when you said watch I didn't read that as meaning in the flesh , some games I have watched live from the big screen. Note I said watched . I realise there are aspects difficult to capture on the monitor , I have a widescreen though and deliberately keep an eye out for what's happening around the contest .
Well thank goodness for that :o
Good to know your widescreen will pick up what's going on 10-20 metres off the contest, when players are leading or chasing their opponents up the ground so they don't become the go to player. Fantastic that yours highlights who actually bothers to run and those who just jog for 10 metres and then stop.
Mine doesn't it just picks up what the camera show but hey thems the breaks ::)

I'm gonna join the chorus here and say that I'm stunned at these changes this week. I'm seriously starting to despise Hardwick.
Drop Griff for Vickery. WTF ?
Drop the kid Arnot but leave the worst player in the AFL ( PetTard ) in the team.
Dont' promote and pick Miles
Don't pick Lennon but leave the two softest players in the AFL ( Grigg , Houli ) in the team.
Etc , Etc. effin etc !
Just for laughs Dimwit , why don't you play PetTard on Stevie Motlop this week and see how many goals he can hand him on a platter.
-
I agree with dropping Arnott and Griffiths
Although Shane Edwards and Grigg must have the complete album of photos of Hardwick
How on earth these 2 get a game is a disgrace
Now on Vickery
Does not deserve to get a game on the assumption that this kid might come good one day
Guess what .he won't .complete DUD who refuses to chase when he hasn't got the ball which I might add is fairly often
His Dad is held in high regard at punt road .it seems too high .thus he gets a " saloon " run at Punt Rd
Lots of issues at the RFC
-
Watching behind play last week both Arnott and Griffo walking said enough for me
Both were absolutely terrible on opposition kick ins as was Lloyd
There is only so many times you can tell a player where to stand
Now they can go and stand in the twos

No one is disputing that both Griffiths & Arnott had poor games last week.
But gee one poor game and out they go.
Others you've mentioned have had multiple por games and they are still there (Grigg, Edwards S, Chaplin to name a few)
That's the issue here.
Apply the same rules for every player on the list and there wouldn't be this angst
But that would be the right thing and we can't have that
-
I'm actually pleased with the outs this week. Rance in for Grimes given Astbury will be required for Hawkins is an obvious selection. Vickery for Griff is an interesting one as they are different players. Vickery us a better natural forward while Griff is the better ruck. If Vickery now has the motivation to work harder defensively it could be a good move but regardless we will miss Griffs marking and roost.
Arnot was slow and seemed tired. I hope Lids give us better run. Our outside runners need to work hard this game and Miles need to be elevated and played over Tomas imo
-
Rumour around the traps is that Griff may make it back into the team. :shh
Not sure how or who would have pulled out.

4 changes in total.
In.....Delideo, Rance, Vickery, Edwards
Out...Griffiths, Petard, Arnot , Grimes.
-
shoulda kept Arnot and Griff and dropped Mosquito edwards

CALLING TO ALL RICHMOND PLAYERS, IF YOU MARK THE BALL, PLAY ON STRAIGHT AWAY. I DON'T CARE IF YOU stuff IT UP, JUST TRY IT FFS. GET THE FRIGGIN BALL MOVING. AND IN SAYING THAT PLAYERS HAVE GOT TO START UNDERSTANDING THAT A PLAYER IS ABOUT TO PLAY ON AND GET YOUR ARSE MOVING FAST!!!!!!!!
-
Glad to see A.Edwards back
At least you know he will have a dip

94 point defeat coming up. >:(

lol they send the message out the team is final. The game is played Sunday so whats the rush. Squib Edwards still in the side :banghead well there is the 1st mistake cause his a softy soccer player & a squib. Griffiths dropped OMG the bloke will be damaged from that woeful decision to bring back in the clubs favorite passenger in Vickery. think we will go back home after tonights game.
be prepared for the flogging :banghead no more money Tigerland

Expect another call from the footy telemarketers next week. The estimated profit for this season has been halved, halved again and again and again. Raffle ticket prices have risen to $400.
The Skata Cyle. 32 years and counting. Plop Plop Plop.
-
For the last few weeks I've been reading it as "the skata circle". Been picturing a group of blokes in a circle taking massive dumps. Only just realised you've been saying cycle.
Unbelievable. :chuck
-
Dropping petterd is a positive step. Although griff, Arnott and grimes would be good to keep, Vicks, Rance and lids are good replacements. They were quiet last game but they'll be back but I don't want petterd back though. Wanna see Batchelor in soon and maybe Morris out. Get Vlastuin into the middle
-
94 point defeat coming up. >:(
Does that make you all tingly in the loins?
-
Looks to me that Hardwick is operating under the simple premise that if he gets the team back to similar if not the same personnel to last season then the results will follow. Unfortunately most of those players are out of form but it would appear that Hardwick stubborn as he is cannot see that through his rose coloured glasses. An absolute thumping from the Cats may sway him slightly but would still like to see what it would take for him to finally swallow some pride and drop Grigg and or S Edwards and then start getting more games into the younger brigade. Miles you would think will be elevated during the week and a good performance in the VFL would almost ensure his debut for the next game.

Does that make you all tingly in the loins?
As BJ wrote in one of his posts recently "Im just keeping it real". Its not my fault we are a rabble. Its not my fault the people at the club dont know how to bring about success or get us good players and its not my fault that we have had 34 years of ongoing crap. The only people who can be proud of their contribution at Richmond over 34 years are the supporters who rattled tins to keep the thing afloat and who have paid millions upon millions of dollars year in year out to get better facilities for the staff and players and to pay for their over inflated wages and egos.

If it means getting a coach that has faith in youth on the list then yes - my loins are moist

Surprised there hasn't been more said about it but it's got me particularly flummoxed why we have brought Adwards back in favour of a Elton, McBean or O'Hanlon.
I just don't rate this bloke.

Maybe they see a flogging coming on and don't want to totally destroy the kids' confidence?

The ball won't go down there anyway. May as well put Cam Howat at CHF.

Reckon Aaron can play
One of the few who stood up in last years final
Will see where he is at tomorrow
-
For what it is worth
Sneaky chance tomorrow
Think Structually we are better off as Vickery will be made to Ruck .so the permanent forward role has been thrown out the window
Martin will play on ball and not as a forward
Let's see what happens
Yes I will be there
Win lose or draw
Expect a win
Sitting in M17 for those who want to tip a beer on my head

Beer is expensive
-
I too have a feeling the game style we have been so graciously putting on display so far this year, might be thrown out the window, and we might see a more aggressive Richmond tomorrow.

Round 1 2009 we got flogged by the Blues by 83 points.
Round 2 we stayed in touch with the Cats at Kardinia Park had an 8 goal 3rd quarter and led by 1 pt at 3 qt time.
The Geelong end where all the RFC fans were in standing room was looking dumfounded. Including me. Some of us dared to believe given how we played in the 3rd.
In the last qt 2 mins in when I saw Bowden hold the ball up declaring tempo footy even though we kicked the first goal of the last quarter I knew we were gone. Ultimately we lost by 20.
Tomorrow may not play out like that but the result will and just like 2009 when the game is on the line and we need to stand up whether it be someone of some we will fade back to old habits and it will be a case of what might have been just like that day at Kardinia Park because it is inherent to our nature and intrinsic to our culture.

Because he. Had it on a string last week first game back from a lay off, had either of those rookies chalked up 26 touches8 or 9 marks and a couple of snags, yeah you re right, they'd be belting the door down for a spot too :shh

VFL is this 30yr olds level now. He'll soon enough be kicking bags in the country for years.

Imagine the coin he'd make there. Then again we're probably paying him big cash as it is.

Maybe so but he played a superb game in the 2nds to show he has good VFL skills ;D

Was this the best side that rfc could have fielded
-
Intially I was not pleased with the selections made, however tge question I ask is this:
Should Newy, shed, aedwards, vickery etc not played
Would griff, arnott, elton etc have dug deep enough to fight back? Or would those kids have waited and watched lids and co try to do the work?
Perhaps we were only one match selection wrong from getting the 4 points but we will never know now

Must not play again.

Griff for Azza and who knows what could've happened
