Title: 3 Simple Game Plan Mechanics
Post by: TigerLand on May 18, 2014, 01:27:41 AM
In successful game plan at the moment has at least 1 of these 3 things:

- Speed (Sligh shot / Transition Footy) = Port Adelaide, Gold Coast
- High Efficient Skills (Keepings off, switching play through zones) = Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood
- High Pressure Defensive skills (Locking ball in fwd 50, hunt in packs, high tackle counts, causing stoppages) = Fremantle, Sydney

We are awful in all 3. We are slower than a wet weak. Would have to be the slowest club by miles. We are trying to play high efficiency game but are getting murdered cause we have too many squibs who can't kick over a jam tin in the back half and we run 1 way and provide bugger all defensive pressure.

Pretty Simple Damien.

You think dimma doesn't know this? He cant control make players run harder and be someone theyre not ( grigg ).
what he can do is rewards players who do this in the VFL and I expect to see a few changes. 1 will be miles elevated.
He knows the season is over now, so it will be about getting games into our kids for the sake of the future.

Yeah what you say is true but the question is What now?

Do we abandon plan high skill or go find more kids who can execute it?  I don't think we have the players on the list to execute it even amongst the kids
we need to keep drafting.  Last years draft was a total crock.

We need to punish players who don't perform. To lose the Melbourne game was absolutely disgraceful. Completely and utterly disrespectful to one of the absolute greats of the game. When Sir Matt Busby died Manchester United responded by beating one of their most bitter rivals. That is how this club should have responded. The fact it served up this crap is disgusting.

Who knows if he knows this. It's round 9 and the same issue been evident since pre season.

Hardwick has turned this team and the game plan around from last year. He has changed the style of play from attacking, free flowing, quick ball movement and risk taking into a complete defensive plan, holding up the play, chipping the ball around and maintaining control of the ball, which our players cant do.

He also experimented too much in the preseason with players and it HAS NOT paid off!!!

He has dug his own grave.

Expect the next coach to play players in their properly suited positions that they will line up in during the season proper and he will also have them taking risks. The new coach will drop players that do not perform and when we are losing during games he will be able to change the game plan to suit the conditions.

Oh and he will have a game plan or three....wont you Woosha...  :thumbsup

 don't think Hardwick knows poo

Why would you have players kicking out of defense 10-15m where the next kick is taken in-line of the current mark.
juniors kick out out further. this has been going on for along time now & he has not changed 1 thing.

Your absolutely right - we are crap in all 3 and we are crap in all 3 because the list managers down at the club have recruited absolute crap. We are on the road to where with this mob in the current administration.

He can't control what they do but he can control who gets a game. Grigg a walk up start every week.  :lol
