is mcbean injured?
Broken digit, 3-5 weeks.
-
Half the senior side should be left out while they undergo digit extractions.
-
Would rather watch that team than the senior team.

:yep X2
-
Bump.
Game just started.
-
Nice grab by the Big O running back with the flight. 45m out. Misses.

Wer 0
-
We've been peppering the goals but have kicked 4 points :scream.
Rich 4
Wer 0
-
Make that 5 behinds ::). The last two were very gettable including a set shot 25m out virtually in front.
-
Petterd marks 55m out and handballs over to Az Edwards but the Werribee chase makes him kick across his body and it's another miss :facepalm.
Rich 6
Wer 1
At least further up the ground we are spreading and moving the ball on quickly.
-
And that play was right out of the seniors. Tiger player hits an opponent between 4 free teammates and on the turnover the opposition get a set shot at goal. Luckily they are missing as well.
Rich 7
Wer 2
All points. 14 mins in.
-
Az Edwards on the boundary 30m out. Instead of having a ping, he centres it but too close to the goals and it's punched through by the Werribee defence.
That's 8 straight points.
-
And no surprise Werribee kick a 50m goal from the boundary after all our misses.
Rich 8
Wer 9
-
The 2's play so much better than our 1's. Seriously reckon the 2's would beat the 1's. didnt want to stop watching but now its time to watch some poo at gws.
-
Quarter time
Richmond 0.8-8
Werribee 1.3-9
Dominated across the ground especially the first 20 mins but didn't put it on the scoreboard. Bad kicking is bad footy.
The problem I have with this gamestyle is while it is good we're playing on at all costs (better than slow chip, chip, chip footy), it's too automatic pilot at times and lacks control and towards the end of that qtr we started to turnover the ball blindly moving the ball on especially by hand.
-
And now we pay for our misses in the first qtr. Werribee with the first two goals of the 2nd qtr.
8 - 21
-
Banfield gets our first score of the 2nd qtr rolls a shot that rolls for another point.
Rich 0.9-9
Wer 4.5-29
15 mins. Q2
-
Hooray. Gleeson finally kicks our first.
Rich 1.9-15
Wer 4.7-31

-
Point to Gordon.
16 - 33
Been a real poor qtr by us. 2nd to the ball.
-
not looking like much to write home about
-
Half-time
Richmond 0.8 1.11-17
Werribee 1.3 4.10-34
Goal: Gleeson.
Lucky to be only 17 pts down.
Ivan said he's feeling good. 4 kicks, 1 hb, 3 marks to half-time.

The Big O is on the bench with a polo top on.

Elton on the bench with ice wrapped around his left shoulder :(.
Werribee have kicked the last 3 to blow out the scoreboard. Turnover by Helbig in defence cost us the last one.
Maric keeps it in close to goal and hands to Banfield to get at least one back.
Rich 4.13-37
GWS 9.10-64

LOL. With Big O off and Maric resting on the bench, Petterd had to do the centrebounce ruckwork :o.

Luke Conca misses from 15m out. Tried to grubber it through instead of snapping it properly on his left.

Does this happen to any side more than us?

Petterd stands up in the tackle and gets a centering kick to Arnot who takes nice overhead contested mark. Goal :gotigers
We go forward from the centre bounce and Petterd marks on the lead 45m out. Misses though. That would've got us right back in it before 3/4 time.

BS free in front of the sticks to Werribee on siren gifts them a goal.
As dodgy the free, it only got down there because #59 or was it #69? for us couldn't bend over to pick up the ball on the wing.

Very soft effort by O'Hanlon in defence. Had the front position in the marking contest and just let the Werribee forward come over the top and take the mark out of his hands.

Our play has really degenerated now. Some very slow and soft efforts looking for others to make the effort. 3 Tiger defenders looking at each other as a Werribee runs in and takes a uncontested chestmark :P.

Petterd in the ruck again and it works lol.
Big Ivan marks it 35m out and goals.

Werribee 1.3 4.10 10.12 17.14-116
Goals: A.Edwards 2, Maric 2, Banfield, Arnot, Gleeson, Young.
Nothing to get excited about apart from Big Ivan getting through a full VFL game unscathed. We should have been at leats 5 goals up at quarter time but stuffed up every chance and from then on Werribee dominated apart from a brief rally from us late in the 3rd qtr.
Petterd the best for the Tiges. Played all over the park today including the ruck.
To top off a bad day, Big O and Elton (shoulder) went off with injuries.
-
Stats:
Petterd 26 (18k 8h)
O'Hanlon 20 (12k 8h)
Banfield 18 (11k 7h)
Miles 16 (8k 8h)
Maric 16 (10k 6h, 2 goals)
A.Edwards 15 (10k 5h, 2 goals)

This result far more relevent looking ahead than the flat track bully nonsense up in Sydney.

------------------------------------------------------------
A goalless first quarter saw the Tigers go down by 51 points at the hands of Werribee in an all-tiger clash at Avalon Airport Oval this afternoon.
Despite solid performances from experienced pair Ivan Maric and Ricky Petterd, the Tigers wasted opportunities early and faded away late.
Maric, in his second game since returning from an ankle injury, started slowly but had an impact both in the ruck and up forward. He had 41 hit outs and moved well around the ground to finish with 19 disposals, 7 inside 50s and 2 goals – one of which came after a strong pack mark and the other on the run.
“I got better as the game went on,” Maric said. “I’m feeling really good, really confident, really fit so it’s just about producing four consistent quarters.”
Ricky Petterd delivered another impressive performance as a utility. He played a consistent game in both defence and attack and collected a team-high 26 disposals with 8 inside 50s.
The Tigers controlled the play early and dominated possession but, in a game dogged by wayward conversion, went into quarter time at 0.8.
Brett O’Hanlon started well and found a lot of the ball. He finished with 19 disposals, disposed of it well and constantly provided a link between defence and attack.
Werribee took control in the second term and built a lead. The Tigers first goal was set up by Arnot, who won the ball by diving on it, bumping an opponent, throwing off a tackler and putting it inside 50. Arnot had 17 disposals, 9 clearances and kicked a goal.
Anthony Miles, who finished with 19 disposals (12 contested) and 8 clearances, also lifted but the Tigers struggled to reduce to the margin.
Two goals from Aaron Edwards saw the Tigers fight back in a rollercoaster third term that involved frequent momentum swings. Nick Wynne (20 disposals), Brad Helbig (15) and Luke Conca (14) worked hard but turnovers and counter-attacks hurt the Tigers.
In what was a tough day for defenders, the Richmond struggled to contain the home side late and Werribee finished strongly to win comfortably.

Goes from strength to strength does Timmy Clarke
-
Thought Arnot's game was really good. Maric was fantastic. Darrou impressed me as did O'Hanlon. Helbig and Petterd were pretty average. Both coughed up possession too easily. Banfield unfortunately fumbles too much. Hope Elton isn't out for long.

Given we kicked 7 goals 9 to their 15 goals 14 after qtr time I would say it was our last 3 qtrs that cost us that game.
Even 8 goals straight would have seen a loss.

the game probably pans out differently though if we kick 5 or 6 of those goals. Kicking 8 points sucks the energy out of you. Kicking goals would suck the life out of the other team.

VIDEO: Tim Clarke's VFL wrap-up for round 8:
http://www.richmondfc.com.au/video/2014-05-27/vfl-wrap-up-round-8
“Ivvy was fantastic,” Clarke told Roar Vision. “If you watch the last quarter-and-a-half of footy, he really showed that he’s a level above VFL. I think he’s really ready for senior footy and he’s been great for us the last two weeks. I hope that he can give our senior team another lift after last weekend.”
“You can say because we failed to finish off the game that it [injuries] did affect us but Orren Stephenson is going to miss maybe a week with his hamstring and Todd, we’re going to wait and see what happens with his shoulder,” Clarke said.
Aaron Edwards, Ricky Petterd and the recently elevated Anthony Miles were praised for their standout performances on the weekend.

Richmond VFL coach Tim Clarke's summary of how the AFL-listed players performed at VFL level on Saturday:
Brad Helbig
15 disposals
Was very good across half-back, but we would have liked to see him get more of the ball. Defensively he was terrific and he’s been stable for us down back for three or four weeks.
Ben Darrou
8 disposals
Was good early with his starting positions on one of their key forwards, but as the game wore on they started to get on top of him. He got beaten, which is unlike him, but he’ll keep working at it.
Ricky Petterd
28 disposals, 8 marks, 8 inside 50s
Was very good through the wings, midfield and back and went forward at one stage. He’s winning his ball, and delivering it well by foot. He’s playing good footy.
Anthony Miles
19 disposals (100% efficiency), 8 clearances
Was tagged very early and battled hard all day and did a lot of unselfish things for the team. Won a lot of the ball and delivered it well. He’s still in good form, just needs to learn how to break a tight tag.
Ivan Maric
19 disposals, 41 hit outs, 7 inside 50s, 2 goals
Ivan was fantastic. He was up against two really good ruckmen who, early on, probably had the better of him. As the game wore on he just got better and better. I think he’s really ready for senior footy.
Nathan Gordon
15 disposals, 6 tackles
Didn’t have a very good game and lost a few critical contests. We’re really desperate for his run to come into the VFL side at the moment, but he had another off day.
Matt Arnot
17 disposals, 9 clearances, 7 tackles, 1 goal
Had a fantastic third quarter, which is the standard of footy we expect from him. Apart from that he was quiet. He was working hard but needs to put together four of those solid quarters.
Brett O’Hanlon
19 disposals
Was very good early on the wing and really controlled that area. Went out of the game as it went on but we expect him to bounce back.
Kamdyn McIntosh
14 disposals
Kamdyn was OK, he was a little bit quiet early on the wing, then ended up going back. Played his negating role well and provided some run and carry off half-back.
Aaron Edwards
2 goals, 13 disposals
Aaron played well and we tried to use him as our main forward option. He was winning a lot of one-on-ones and he played a good game early. He missed a few shots but still hit scoreboard.
Todd Banfield
1 goal, 11 disposals, 7 tackles
Getting better with his work rate. He’s improving but needs to be cleaner with the ball and take his opportunities as a small forward.
Cadeyn Williams
6 disposals
Struggled a bit and was in-and-out of the game up forward. Lost some critical contests early and lost a bit of confidence. Fought back well in second half but need a bigger effort from him.
Todd Elton
Injured
Was very good defensively early in the game. We had to move him forward and into the ruck when Orren went off, but then Todd hurt his shoulder and didn’t play for a half.
Orren Stephenson
Injured
Was OK in the ruck early before he hurt his hamstring and went off. He provided a good option up forward too.

Miles -19 disposals at 100% efficiency and 8 clearances.
Not bad for a bloke that got tagged.
The 100% efficiency while someone is holding on to you contradicts what some people think they know about him.
FFS play this kid Dimma and get rid of one of the softies. They don't stand up against good opposition.
