Interesting question. I don't think so, not deliberately but I think we will finish 2nd or 3rd last, which should give us 3 picks inside 40.
I hope we trade out players and get 2 more picks inside 40 too and we spend an extra $1million on our recruiting staff this year. Our list just isn't good enough.

l have said the same but its injuries & fatigue coupled with low moral & confidence which will only get worse when the media rape's our soles this week, Which is taking it toll across the whole RFC including us supporters :rollin did that make any sense ;D

YES we should be tanking but unfortunately we are not. Carlton will start tanking soon and beat us to the bottom of the ladder for the best picks. They will then go up the ladder quicker than us because they have better players and they worked the system. We will just go from near the bottom to 9th and then back down again over the next 10 years, just like we always have!!

It's probably time to start putting players under the knife for next year.
There was a song played on The Marngrook Footy show a few years back, "It's round 9 and we're already tanking, cos we're just crap!" Seems pretty apt now.

if only we were good enough to tank. middling side performing like a middling to poor side. for us most of the regulars are at their ceiling there is little upside.
finals are not an option this yr. a smart club would now change tack admit it got things wrong and start playing others in the hope we can actually find a few players.
i still maintain though we cant just throw piles of kids in the deep end by themselves, i have never ever believed big floggings is good for anyone. in fact in many positions we are very limited in what we can do and who we can play anyway.
play as many kids and promising players as possible, find out what they have to offer and if they are worth persevering with, but we do have to maintain some experience and structure so they can compete . there is a huge melbourne lesson to be learnt from. get rid of all your experienced players and you will get belted from pillar to post every week.
as for the nd well i am hoping we get a top 5 pick now.
im hoping we can find a way to trade into a top 15 pick as well.
picks 5 12 23 41 and say 50 would be great.
what areas do we target with these picks? we lack for kpfs, kpds, mids and really quick skillful sml/med fwds. we also need to get at least 1 junior ruckman into our freakin system.
i think we could use the two early picks on the area of greatest need and still address in some way most other areas with players.
lets say we target tall fwds as the area most in need. if we target two fwds we also likely target best available.
5 sam durdin will probably be gone at 1.so pat mccartin.
12 tom lamb may not make it to here but imo this kid is the best hit up tall going. these two in the long term would shore up our tall fwd stocks.
or change it and take a mid here and hope a player like kietel will be available at pick 23.
23 we could target a decent mid peter bampton, ryan lim maybe.
41/50 best available hopefully a kpd aother mid.
59 take a punt on a kid like jermaine miller-lewis, this kid is a highlight reel if he can find some consistency we would have our x factor med/fwd.
use a late pick on a kid like darcy cameron theres your promising ruck.
shore up the defense by taking matt sully as a rookie. if cameron conlon can play some footy and play well take punt onhim. i still think isaiah miller should be given a go hourigan was also overlooked last yr im not sure why. they all address a need.

Why you bracing yourself Doc? people brace themselves when some Doctor is trying to stick a canula into the back of your hand and he continually misses the vain lol.
Happened to me 4 times last week and the muppett called himself a Doctor he was good on the theory though -told me exactly three times what he was trying to do he was perfect on theory - Zero on the execution.
Why the Universities are handing out medical degrees to these muppetts is beyond me. Its not like the old days Doc when you could get things done the right the first time, now patients have to put up with these stuck up young knobs who think theyre important coz they got a medical degree lol.

I tell ya doc some of these guys getting out of Medical School are dead set amateurs. I had plenty of canulas and stuff over the years ... this young bloke was shocking when it came to doing it properly.
Oh yeah and just to get back on topic - we aint tanking we just a bad side ;D

Like the woman who was taking my blood for a donation and missed and said she can fix it and after a short time of fiddling the needle around still in my arm decides to get another nurse to do it in my other arm.
