People are staying home jack. No point going to watch those losers. Theres nothing to see anyway. In the last bad period at least we had Richo now we got jack schizen. Nuffin. The club deserves nothing from us now. We gave them their chance and they blew it again but the sad part is they dont give a stuff anyway.  Most of them are just there so they can pay their mortgages. That is all.

Went today and was pretty surprised at the number of Freo supporters. Saw a lot of new purple merchandise around.

Awful crowd, hats off to members for making a statement.

Spot on Ramps, not much to go and watch. Even our kids aren't overly exciting. Ellis isn't overly likeable. Vlastiun and Lennon are but still raw. No pace, no excitement. How in the year 2014 have we got 1 indigenous player on our senior list? Does anyone think that is a perfect reflection on our poor recruiting admin? Every other club has some sort of X factor player with indigenous background, most have 2 players.. We don't have any.

Have to agree

Shocking crowd number, I thought they'd get about 30k, was horribly wrong

Reckon it's going to be then norm for the remainder of the year

Crowd numbers like that are going to have a huge impact on the bottom line

Whatever the crowds in previous years to get only 22k when 30k is a break even point at the G is totally unacceptable. As stated by other posters the fans who have stuck by the club deserve better.
Then the club wants to be known as a Big 4 club. Not with that crowd your not.
Melbourne footy club type crowd circa 2012/13 for a club that's on its way to being that.
Friday night game next week against another big interstate side and I reckon the only saving grace is this club used to be based in Melbourne and some neutrals might rock up to watch the Buddy show.

We are stuffed atm and we'll be lucky to have 2 Friday night games next year. We stink.

1. Tiger Army demobilises

After last round's heart-breaking loss to North Melbourne you could understand some of Richmond's supporters staying away, but the Tigers and the AFL would have been extremely disappointed with the paltry 22,074 crowd for the only game in Melbourne on Saturday.

It was the lowest crowd between the sides since round 13, 1999.

The corresponding fixture last year, played in round 17 as both teams surged towards finals, attracted 40,125 supporters as the Tigers registered a 27-point win.

We're that poo at the moment that I don't even get that feeling we can even cause an upset. I tip with my head so I havent tipped the tiges in weeks, but if I tipped with my heart I'd still be tipping the opposition the way we're going.

The way we have capitulated - both the losses and the way we have lost has been disappointing.
The game itself has become less appealing to watch - except when the absolute best sides play each other and within that, we have become a poor spectacle.
We played okay yesterday in patches but the damage has been done.
People have lives outside of football, there are other things we can do doing and 18k chose to do something else yesterday.

But the club is too ignorant to believe the lower crowd is anything to do with performance. Theyll blame it all on the weather

Yes l refuse to go watch football that will impact my health. l wanna spew everytime l go to watch them & the last 2 games l watched, We were gone at halftime. Never will l set foot into a arena while Richmond is playing in, When they can't execute basic football skills. Can't move the ball forward. Handball to HOT players. Kick too a 2 on 1 contest when there are players free on the inside up the field. Cant kick basic goals "Simple follow through kicks" directly in front no excuses.  The other clubs don't have these problems. Players who squib "Gutless" Players who can't play fast forward football because they want to get rid of the coach. Its time to start sacking some of these pretend players who don't run Richmond Football Club. Out with those players.

Richmond Football Club. GET TOUGH or lose members who have supported the club for their entire life. GET TOUGH WITH THE PLAYERS.

PLAYERS COME & GO BUT THE SUPPORTERS REMAIN A LIFETIME  :banghead

Some do, l arrange to go to games with a few of them & some of them don't know how to work their membership cards at the gates cause they never owned one before  ;D Can't say names but if they are reading this  ;D they will soon click on cause l'm still  :lol about it. But l will say this, That because of the way some of the players are forced out of the club is the cause of the state the club is in for assistant coaches & general help to make things better.

this administration has pulled the wool over the eyes of the supporter base. its a very average administration and thats shown by 1) the decisions that are allowed to go through in the football department, 2) the appointments of the coaching panel, 3) the fitness people at the club 4) the decisions about who does the recruiting for the football club and finally the position in which we find ourselves after 4 years on the ladder which is basically where we started. All of their supposed achievements have come on the backs of supporter driven financial contribution - nothing else.

The supporters had to save them because they had no other financial avenue to go down or the club would have went into meltdown. The club has exhausted the supporters & it's time the supporters slammed the door closed on these blood sucking businesses that also get Government funding from making easy money off the street cause its no different to asking for money on the street without a permit IMO Authority is cracking down bigtime on this but the councils & Government departments will allow it to continue under a new kind of scheme.

Talking about Fitness  ;D watching Sy-Kilda play now is just like watching Richmond but in another jumper. same style same mistakes & same sort of disposal. Peter was at this club before he came to Tigerland  :lol

I no longer go, pulled the plug about 5-6 weeks ago. Its not bc of the losses, hell Ive been going for 20+ years win lose or draw, mainly to watch us lose so its not that.

I simply don't like how they're taking the pee. If they admitted their wrongs and were working towards rectifying it, I wouldn't have a problem and would support them. But the msg coming out of the club is how dare anyone question their decision making and the direction taken by the club. IE Dimmas response to the Hampson and soft statements from the media. The Maric mismanagement, the obvious lack of conditioning in the playing group. Our drafting philosophy last draft. Get stuffed

I had lunch with two brother n laws of mine. One an Essendon fan one a Collingwood one. I distracted both by talking about the Greece result which obviously affected us all and then I started with ASADA references equating to Colombia on my Essendon one getting the Collingwood one involved. Went down on my behalf sweetly like my latte and home made tiramisu. Thank you very much and go Dees and Dogs. ;D

I can wholly understand why people stopped going weeks or years ago.
I don't know why I go. I guess out of habit and with reference to home games with a reserved seat the people you sit next two and the footy kinship we all have. Must say the second level of the Olympic Stand N53 and pretty much N49-57 was quite threadbare compared to other weeks with whole rows empty.

The members and fans have voted with their feet and have had enough.
As for me well, I'll still continue to go don't know why as WP states, I have no reason to given the grief they have given me over the years. Maybe its selfish on my part just to say to family and friends I still go and aint a fairweather fan or I've paid good money for my reserved seat and 3121 membership and I'm going to use it. Whatever it is I'm doing it for myself and I'm entitled to be selfish and bag the club gleefully given the effort I make and many others on here have made. :thumbsup

the supporters have been duped. pure and simple as that. thats why the supporters are staying away and thats why they will stau away in droves now, they took our money and brought in crap footballers, they took our money and laughed at us, now we're laughing at them and the players who play. they dont deserve anything from us, Richmond supporters are dropping off everywhere, speaking to a relative last night supported richmond for 45 years and now has absolutely no interest in the club, using his own words he simply said they can "get stuffed" maybe the supporters will come back when the club becomes a professional outfit and not some clown infested dump for brainless and gutless footballers and hopeless administrators taking the pee out of the supporters until then the club will find that crowds will be lower and future membership will be hit, they can also take their fighting fund and stick it up their arses, Im not giving them anymore money to waste on hacks they recruit from other clubs and to be honest Im happy Ive reached this conclusion why should I feel bad for those twits as the relative said they can get stuffed now coz thats what they been telling us for 34 years.  ;D

Title: Re: Crowds

I want to see changes in list management and by that giving it to someone who knows what theyre doing

I want to see changes in the fitness personnel at the club

I want to see changes in the recruiting area personnel with new people from a successful AFL background involved

I want to see all assistant coaches changed except for Mark Williams (the ex Port coach) can stay

I want to see an independent review of the entire club performed by someone with AFL experience but who has nothing to do with Richmond at the moment.

I want to see at least a "no sacred cows" policy invoked on players. I dont give a stuff if Newman wants to play next year, he should retire or be retired or he should play for someone else. Not at Richmond.

I want to see at least 10 changes to the list with at least 6 young players drafted.

I want to see a superstar being recruited into  Richmond so at least the supporters have something to watch even when we lose, In the past we had Richo now we have zero.

I want them to cut the spin in general, I dont want any emails from Hardwick about how a game was played out

I dont want to see bruise free gutless football, and I dont want to see any players play who pull out of contests or hear footsteps or who have no idea how to play the game

I want them to be honest and admit they got it mightily wrong and I want them to apologise to us all for duping us and taking the pee out of us.

And thats just the start!  ;D

The jump in gen admin cost was a joke. 25% increase. They must bring the cost down to $21 for gen admin and lower the cost of food and drink by 25%. Also, dump the Sunday twilight games in Melbourne. Start the season around April 1st. Crowds in Melbourne will increase plenty if these things happen.
