It won't surprise me if Batch or Dea make way for Lennon.

You don't want Jackson returning after the stuff l seen today. Make him earn his spot. Make them all earn their spots.

Better sub option than pettard

Out : Game plan
in: let's turn this game upside down and no Hampson and someone shoot vickergirl
Lloyd Gordon arnot Stephenson let's see what we got just a game plan that says go for it ffs....
It's horrible to watch or should I say turn away from?
-

you reckon. He would blow out a injury in no time. l don't think you realize what is required to play at that level & this is a reason Chris Newman has many injuries & other players at our club. That's why they look very slow cause match fitness is a major key being able to give 100%.

The Barometer - Round 16
Herald-Sun
30th June 2014
RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Matt Dea’s run in the ones might be over after being subbed off for the second week in a row. His replacement Ricky Petterd didn’t do a whole lot either and could be in trouble. Jake Batchelor had just eight disposals in a full game against the Saints while Matt Thomas could be the one to make way if Damien Hardwick doesn’t want to play all three of Thomas, Anthony Miles and Dan Jackson in the same side.
ON THE CUSP: Jackson will be back after getting through his return game in the VFL, picking up 21 disposals and eight clearances. Ben Lennon is knocking on the door for a senior recall after 23 touches and two goals while Matt Arnot (30 disposals), Sam Lloyd (21 and two goals) and Matt McDonough remain around the mark. Orren Stephenson was the pick of the VFL rucks which isn’t a great sign for Shaun Hampson.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: The Tigers showed they are a class above the bottom four by comfortably accounting for St Kilda and if the improved form of recent weeks continues they are likely to end up in the bunch of teams not quite good enough for the top eight. That would be a reasonable recovery from a disastrous start but still a long way short of pre-season expectations. Trent Cotchin’s five goals were the story of Saturday but the form of Brandon Ellis (averaging 30 disposals a game since Round 10) would be just as pleasing for those in charge at Tigerland.

Jackson will come in for Thomas. Despite good form in the VFL I doubt Arnot will be brought in even though he deserves to.

Dan Jackson has backed himself to return from the hip flexor complaint that has kept him out since round 11. There were no reported injuries from Saturday's win over St Kilda but Steven Morris faces a one-week suspension as a combined sanction from two separate incidents against the Saints. There were also a few who pressed their cases in the VFL. Ben Lennon had 23 touches and kicked two goals while Orren Stephenson was the better of the two ruckmen with Shaun Hampson joining him after being omitted from the senior side. Matt Arnot and Sam Lloyd were also impressive in the team's 44-point loss to Collingwood.

You're not suggesting Arnott goes into the team ahead of Jackson?

He should. stuff Hackson.

It appears to me at the moment that regardless of how well Arnot is playing in the VFL he will not be elevated to the seniors. This is irrespective of whether Jackson comes into the side or not.

Yep that seems to apply with a few of the kids running around in the VFL, not exclusive to Arnott
-
Agree not just exclusive to Arnot but Arnot's case is a good case in point as he has been in the best for at least the last 3 games in the VFL.
-
Will be a travesty and a joke if Arnot and Darrou get delisted. Out of all our current reserves players they easily look the two most likely to make it. As long as we keep those two & McBean (and Lennon obviously) they can pee off the rest for all I care.
-

Which means that applying the Miles Rule we should see him sometime circa Round 22.

That's why I keep throwing up Helbig & O'Hanlon, up until last week both had been named in the bests at VFL level 5 weeks in a row

Why can't these guys get a game or even better, a block of games?
It is one of the most frustrating aspects of following the RFC….. :banghead :banghead :banghead

My suspicion is half the reason we're not playing these blokes is that we've painted ourselves into a corner with stupid contracts & pee poor list management so we're probably going to have to delist most of them. The other half is Hardwick just doesn't rate them and wrote them off ages ago - mainly due to the fact he pretty much flat out said it publicly....mind you this could also be a convenient opinion on his behalf and relate back to the first reason.
Who the stuff knows how this club thinks anymore.
-
i don't think they like to chip the ball backwards and accross
-
Maybe their more pooh than the pooh that's playing seniors. They're not exactly dominating the reserves - being in the best each week isn't a compelling case for a side as mediocre as our reserves team. Play the pooh dud seniors and hope they play well so someone stupider than us can take their contract off our salary csp
-
Maybe their more pooh than the pooh that's playing seniors.
Maybe buy how the hell will we ever know?
Miles also played in the same "mediocre" VFL side, was neamed in the best week after week and he finally got an opportunity
So why not the others?
If they are going to be de-listed I'd rather know they've been given the opportunity rather than wondering "what if"

Come on WP, those blokes haven't dominated like Miles did.
Let's not get to carried away.

How long did Miles have to wait, far too long I think you'd agree.
But Missing my main point big tone, these guys have constantly been named in the best. They should be given an opportunity
Season is shot, has been for 7 odd weeks now, time to give these blokes a go and see whether they are worth keeping. If they show nothing then the decision is easy and there are no question marks. But if they show something then what do we lose or perhaps gain
Would rather see then given a chance than others who just float along without having to show anything
-
I agree too that they should be given another go but my point was they hadn't done what Miles did in regards to dominating in the reserves. They have all been pretty good of late but not to Miles standard.
Anyway we agree on they should be given another opportunity.
-
Arnot & Darrou have been consistenly good through nearly every game this year and -injuries aside- pretty much have been for well over 12 months.

Out Martin (speeding fine)
