Look tbh Im not an O'Hanlon fan, don't think he'll make it, but the bloke had a pretty decent quarter of football as sub and deserves a chance to put his case fwd
as for Arnot, being brought in for an inside mid then played as a defensive fwd and then being dropped - WP sums it up succinctly
-
Tigers will win
Hampson will ruck
Ivan plays forward
Port backs are suss
-
Tigers will win

Port backs are suss
Ivan, Vickery and Reiwoldt fwd... Better hope they mark the ball otherwise that ball will be whizzing out of our fwd line

As long as the ins are Morris and Vlastuin it's OK

Damian Hardwick's mantra at the selection table.
The Skata Cycle. 32 years and counting. Plop Plop Plop. ®©™
His logic is if the club can have the above mantra posed on it then that includes me as the coach.
"Mr Penski, George Costanza's car is being towed". :help
-
As long as the ins are Morris and Vlastuin it's OK
no doubt both 100% fit and in zero danger making injuries worse

Kids out rejects in Hardwicks mould. So sick of this.

It's selections like this that make you consider the match committee is deliberately trolling us supporters :P.
Daly: This week we're at Etihad which is a indoor fast dry track and we're playing against one of the quickest sides in the comp.
Dimma: Okay, we better bring back Thomas and Hampson then.
:facepalm :help

Groundhog day at Richmond.
Where selection on Thursday is like the week before and the week before that.
Has been snowing for years at Punt Rd.

I hope Port flog the crap out of us by 20 goals. Thats all Richmond deserves. I through all my Richmond merchandise out in the bin this afternoon. They can get stuffed.
-
Our selection policy is mystifying, cannot understand how Hamspud is even named, surely O'Hanlon also warranted at least a full game. I think no doubt that Hardwick being delusional is trying in his mind to covert an abysmal season into a disappointing one with some end of season wins. Will then in the end of season post mortem focus on the injuries at the start of the season being explanation for poor form. I suppose on a positive note his delusion means we aren't picking the best side so we might end up with a higher pick in the draft as a result.

Can you mail it to me, I'll have it
-
I can't understand the point of selecting two young blokes for only part of a game each just to drop them again straight away.

I can't understand the point of selecting two young blokes for only part of a game each just to drop them again straight away.
Token selections thrown under the bus so that when they're delisted to accomodate the generous contracts of others Hardwick can say "oh look they had their chances but didn't take them and haven't really come on as much as we would've liked."
-
Thomas and Hampson are part of the future.

Thomas and Hampson are part of the furniture.
fixed

Pathetic selections. Hampson was not even in the best in the VFL. :banghead :banghead :banghead

I might as well join in with charade; beats get angry week after week..... ::)
Really solid selections the 5 ins
Don't feel any better
Terrific, just terrific TM

I was thinking this might be the week we finally get to see McBean. Stupid me :banghead

It would be nice if someone from the press had the balls to ask Hardwick what exactly Hampson did to earn his recall, at the next press conference.

Yep, though I doubt Hampson will play. Think the ins will only be Vlastuin & Thomas
but at around 5pm this arvo we will know one way or another :P
-
Think Hampson could play permanent Ruck
Ivan plays down forward
3 talls inside F50
Port defense looks ordinary
Tiges win

Hampson is playing permanent potato salad.

Doesn't matter if he plays or not, he has been named in the squad, and on the back of what?
BJs?
shared home videos?
wife swapping?
It's one thing to keep repeating the mantra of having to earn a spot in regards to those not already in the side, while keeping under performing players in the team,
but to then name a player who spent one week and did nothing at the lower level, and has not ever performed at AFL level for us, takes it to another level of stuffed upness.
It's simply mind boggling and trying to work it out makes trying to comprehend quantum physics seem on par with reading Dick and Dora

Maybe there is an injury concern with one of our talls but regardless I would rather a second-hand point post comes into the team, would have more impact.
-
while Hampson was hardly mentioned, stephenson was named in the best . Theres your performance based ruck replacement,
Mcbean kicked 5 so there's your performance based forward replacement,

I actually agree with you al 100% and then throw in another 100+% for good measure
But I am now at the stage that I just don't care anymore, the spin has seen to that.
"We don't gift games anymore", "you've got to earn your spot" BLAH BLAH and BLOODY BLAH
All that's happened this year at the selection table is they have proved beyond any doubt that they are dishonest and think we the members & supporters are mugs
So as I said I don't care, the match committee can keep playing favourites, they can keep picking blokes who don't warrant it and I'll just go to the footy to catch up with friends.
Then come Sept/Oct when it's renewal time I get my chance if I chose to treat them the same way they've treated all us and that's with disdain

Had to front up a list of an extended bench so I don't buy to much into it. Completely ignoring who has been dropped I don't think you can be too upset about the ins (now that they've been finalized)
-
Was Hardwick and his cronies as bad at match committee last year and we just didn't mind because we were winning?
This week was a perfect time to play McBeen, they are a few big bodied defenders down so Liam would have had a 'second tier' defender but with quality player around them. Giving him a pretty good first game experience. But we decide to play Lloyd who I don't mind but....
I know we all on hear don't agree on player A or B but most would agree that McBeen should have been given a go after a really good first year last year and some encouraging form this year and 5 snags last week. The season is over for Gods sake!
Not even sure I'm going to bother going on Sunday.
Anyway, plop, plop, plop!

Not upset about the final ins, but all the blokes are named for done so for a reason. Often we have seen kids named as emergency when they are close to selection.
Although he wasnt eventually named, the fact that Hampson was even in the mix, given the amount of times we have had "have to earn your spot " trotted out is simply bewildering. The message being sent is he is close to selection, while for others who have performed better, the message is, Hampson is closer to playing than you, even though he is a retread.

I think MT best summed it up when he suggested that the match committee were trolling us.
Most plausible explanation.

I suppose based on experience you would go Lloyd as a sub. Who ever they're going to put on Wingard is going to get pantsed this weekend
