No reports this week for a change ;D, so no enforced changes.
Fire away with your changes, if any?
-
No change
:cheers
-
Good morning '65 :cheers
-
Batch and/or Grimes out..wasn't impressed with Batch at all, he brings hardness to the game but that's it.
-
Newman must be told this is his last year, simply cant play at this level any more. In fact, has struggled for the last few years. No good!
-

The back six were huge last night, so that's the last area where I would make changes.
No change for mine.
-
Out: Morris, Thomas
In: McDonough, Dea

agreed...defence is a real strength at the moment .
Batch has been terrific since he has come into the team.
I still prefer Grimes to someone like Dea .
-
It will never happen but would drop Grigg
-
Thomas was terrible last night. Batchelor will survive but wasnt great last night either.
-
Out: Morris, Thomas
In: McDonough, Dea
This and if jacko is ready bring him in possibly
-
Outs: Newman, Thomas
Ins: Dea, Knights
-
Out: Gordan
In: Jackson
-
Gordon was ok, didnt get it a lot but added run and kicked goals at clutch moments. Prefer Thomas out Jackson in.
-
Out: Gordan
In: Jackson
Thought Gordon was good as a pinch hitter. In the first delivery was shocking to him but after that made the most of his opportunities and bar for a microsecond at the end of the third would have finished with three goals. Did he job with that IMHO and certainly keeps his place next week.
-
NO Change ;D
-
Same old grigg. Plop plop plop.
Newman's struggling
Thomas is likeable but not good eenough
-
IN: Jackson, Lennon
OUT: Thomas, Grigg

Actually thought he went okay for a change. Unfortunately this was a good game for him when really it should be the norm at worst

Yep provides a bit as a stay at home forward. Few more touches and he'd be golden for that medium forward that can push up the ground
-
In: McDonough, Jackson
out: Morris, Thomas
Agree
-
BEST:
Bendigo Gold: Heavyside Hayes Wallin Byrne Downie Sketcher
Richmond Tigers: Banfield Lennon Young Lloyd Knights McBean
-
Even though I appreciate Grigg the most on this site, if he was tagging the Heppel doll and the girl stil got 30+ touches then hopefully Grigg out and Jackson in
-
Can someone enlighten me what grigg actually contributes out on the ground, because I certainly don't see anything.
Is he a space filler?

He also racks up meaningless possessions
-
chuck what do you think the coaching staff see in him then?

God knows
-
Outs- Batch, Thomas, Gordon
Ins- Dea, Lennon, McBean
Lennon needs another taste before the end of the season and has earned it by all reports.
IMO we really need a bit more class in the side.
McBean I hope comes in for Gordon. Give the a boy a taste.
-
Grigg is Ellis.
A very poor mans version
-
Seems like Newman will play out the year and be retired at years end.
McDonough should take his place.
I stick to playing Lennon for Grigg, Grigg offers nothing and doesn't "do a job" on anyone!
Lennon is a talent and a "Big Game" v Adelaide he should be given the chance to entertain and cause problems up forward!
Grigg is shot, time to be traded or delisted.
We need skillful players that hit targets over 30-40 metres! Not players like Grigg who hit targets only over 15-20 metres!
What should happen:
IN: Jackson, Lennon, McDonough
OUT: Thomas, Grigg, Newman
McBean needs to crush packs and take more contested marks.
Still a bit weak in the air. The cub can play, but he needs shoulders on him. Talented on the ground and great skill.
If McBean plays now, he wouldn't do much, defenders will monster him. Our development is poor, those who have watched McBean know he needs more meat on him and needs to take those contested marks.
Like McBean and last nights 5 goals, some were opportunist goals. We want more contested marking, hard leading goals.
This pre-season McBean needs strength in his shoulders and core, once he gets that, we will see him in the AFL.
Elton playing at CHB has been OK.
How long is Astbury out for?
-
Bean is like a tall forward pocket
Contested marking isn't his go
-
The Newman inclusions i just dont understand.
When Gaspars time was up he was just dropped for the season.
Newman is a slow liability yet continues to get played over youth.
It's just wrong.
-
At the detriment of the development of Lennon donuts arnot etc
-
The only chance McBean may play this year is if the finals dream is shot by a loss next week. He may get a crack against St.Kilda. Anyhow Lennon McDonough Arnot and Dea should be in the side. Newman is gone. Has to retire club would be in the same position next year scrambling like cockroaches if they keep him on the list and keep playing him. Time to go Newman. Three games to go.

Who is injured for crows
Otten and Lynch taking no further part. Both injured in the first half.
Big Ivan to play against his old club. Should be a rippa match. :thumbsup

Yes Phil I'd expect that from you. :thumbsup
-
anyone think that chris knights has a place in the side?
-
Knights >. Grigg Thomas
-
anyone think that chris knights has a place in the side?
I called it in my changes for next week. :thumbsup
Some were calling for Morris I reckon the diff between us winning or not will be whether we can hold Betts.
If not he could easily kick four of five next week. :-\
Reckon our defence can hold theirs and midfield can break even it just may go down to one player just being the difference. Betts for them. Dusty for us. :thumbsup

Dunno about Otten but Lynch looks like a handy player

It happens. Isn't good but doesn't stop me thinking he looks pretty handy

Outs: Newman, Gordan
Ins: Jackson, Lloyd
Newman is cooked. Gordan was great in front of goal but made a lot of mistakes. I would bring Lloyd back or give Lennon another crack as a sub. Thomas needs to be included for the contested ball against Adelaide but Vlaustin should not be made sub. I would make Jackson sub this week coming off an injury perhaps swapping with Newman or Thomas depending on the way the game was progressing.
-
Grigg should be the permanent sub.only grigg will give the hard gut running that you should get from a sub
-
Seriously wtf is dimma playing at vlastuin at the sub
-
I actually didn't mind Vlas being sub, only because I think over the course of the season he has become a little lazy and needed a kick up the arse
-
Yea vlas was dynamite when he came on, might have been the kick up the arse like titch got and hasn't looked back :shh
-
Seriously wtf is dimma playing at vlastuin at the sub
Coincidentally it was his best game for a while IMO, or maybe wasn't a coincidence? Might of been the mini rocket he needed
-
Concur :thumbsup
-
Seriously wtf is dimma playing at vlastuin at the sub
managing workloads, he's still only a second year player
-

Conca could use one of them too.

Exactly, also Ross Smith said @ 3121 before the game that Flossy is the ideal sub as he can play forward, back & mid
-
Unleash the Bean!
-
I'm not disputing vlastuin isn't effective as the sub.
Rather, asking is that the best position
More so when Thomas is spraying them. Grigg isnscratching his ass and Newman is loaping around.

The Barometer - Round 21
Herald-Sun
August 11, 2014
RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Matt Thomas in on the brink after copping the red vest on Friday night following 11 minimal-impact disposals. Hard to find many other candidates after a six-match winning streak; Steve Morris made some bad blues but Damien Hardwick loves his toughness while Dylan Grimes and Jake Batchelor don’t get much of the footy but they are doing their jobs down back.
ON THE CUSP: Some big numbers in a 98-point VFL win against Bendigo. Liam McBean now tops the VFL goalkicking table after another bag of five, but with Ben Griffiths showing a bit against the Bombers it’s hard to find a spot for him unless the Tigers go very tall in attack. More likely is Ben Lennon, who starred with 25 disposals and a goal. Chris Knights, Matt Arnot and Sam Lloyd (23 disposals, four goals) were also prominent.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Richmond is fulfilling its end of the finals bargain by winning, this time in particularly impressive fashion after being on the ropes more than once against Essendon. A visit to Adelaide Oval on Saturday night will be even bigger, but the Tigers are high on confidence and have an extra two days to prepare. Win this and overcome St Kilda the next week and the Tigers will set up a massive Round 23 showdown with Sydney. Lose and they can start planning for 2015.

RICHMOND
After missing more than three months with a serious knee injury, Chris Knights is close to playing his first senior game for the year. The half-forward was outstanding in the VFL at the weekend, racking up 29 possessions, six clearances and two goals from the midfield. It was his fourth game in the state league since returning from injury.
Ben Lennon, who last played at senior level in round 13, was also influential in the Tigers' big VFL win, finishing with 25 possessions and a goal.
Club champion Dan Jackson has missed three games with a glute injury but he could prove his fitness this week.
Tall forward Liam McBean has kicked 20 goals in his past five VFL games, including five at the weekend. Yet to debut for the Tigers, he sits atop the VFL goalkicking table and remains an in-form option.

Wouldn't rush in Jackson.
