For me:
Out - Newman, Grigg (if Jackson fit)
In - Conca, Jackson (if fit)
-
Grigg is awful
-
Reece straight back in.?
-
That's the thing.
As bad as newman is, lederly, slow and a liability, he's still a better option than conca
-
INS: Conca, Dea
OUTS: Newman, Batchelor
If Newman does the right thing by the club and announces his retirement I'd leave him in to give a farewell game at the MCG
Sorry but he was shocking tonight.
-

Nup we got pummelled in th contested ball
Cotchin and miles require Conca support IMO
-
Crashed into a Crow once. Otherwise did nothing. Giving up that goal was terrible. Has lost pace badly. Time to go mate sorry.
And yeah I'd prefer Conca for sure.
-
We know Newman will never be dropped, so why bother naming him
-
For a senior statesman of the team that kick out he took was terrible, almost lost us the game and pretty much handed back the goal denied luckily by the video ump. Blind freddy would know that with less than 3 mins to play in a quarter and rain falling that 50 metres down the boundary is the way to go, surprised Hardwick didn't break another phone handset.
-
Should be Newman and Lennon for Dea and Conca but will be 1 change Lennon for Conca
-
foley has been good
-
1 change
In Conca
Out Lennon
Conca to be sub
-
Newmans stats and qualitative impact were down last night even by his own standards.
Would bring in Conca for him (not that it will happen)

funny you say that cause l just wrote about newman in another topic. He should be dropped for playing short in the backline which costs goals or puts unwanted pressure on the hard workers
-
Newman has been poor all season and last night he added poor decision making to his growing list of limitations.

It's something the coach needs to seriously look at is players who make stupid decisions. That one Petterd made going across the goals & then going out of bounds was one of the dumbest things l ever seen. But Newman short game in the backline & also Dusty done it twice renders me to think those 3 should not be in the backline.
l would put the gun on Newman who should know better & Cotchin as captain needs to get up players when they do these things like a Hodge or Mitchell do
-
Merge thread with the other one
-
I thought Newman was very solid last night. He played well and no way will he be dropped and nor should he be. There were no weak links last night. I'd make Conca come back via the VFL.

Jacko only played a half in the ressies. IMO he needs to a full game before being considered for senior selection.
Knowing Dimma, we'll only make one change to bring Conca back into the side and it'll be like-for-like. Meaning a kid like Lennon will make way for him.
In: Conca
Out: Lennon
-
Need to stop using the sub with our kids. How can u learn from 5 minutes of football a week.
-
Out Newman
In Dea
-
In: Conca
Out: Grigg
-
Out- Batchelor
In- Dea
Conca comes back through the two for mine.
-
Out Newman
In Dea
I'd be happy with that.

:yep
Would like to see Newman move aside for Dea. Despite his two goals, I found myself with heart in mouth every time Gordan had the ball in hand too. Lost a lot of one on ones :-\

I agree with Big Tone also Conca can come back in via the ressies. :thumbsup

The only major negative for the Tigers was a shoulder injury to defender Dylan Grimes. While there was no official word on the injury from Punt Road, club sources suggested it was considered very minor.

With Batch in Grimes wouldn't be absolutely necessary against Saints but will be against Swans. Should ice him for a week then.
-
Dea was ordinary for the Ressies. Won't come in.
Lennon out for Conca is my guess.

In: Conca

Yes

Yes

I'm not sure Dea can do the role that Batch has been doing as I'm not sure he is physical enough ?

Dea has been widely posted as getting minimal possessions as well?

Grigg has been very ordinary since returning and must be dropped.

ADELAIDE 2.3 4.10 5.13 9.15 (69)
RICHMOND 5.1 7.5 8.14 10.9 (79)
BEST
Adelaide: Jacobs, Dangerfield, Talia, Crouch, Wright, Douglas
Richmond: Cotchin, Delidio, Ellis, Grigg, Gordon, Rance
Think Grigg was given the job on Brodie Smith and thrashed him.
Not sure why people are bothering with this ? Grigg won't get dropped even if he deserved it ( which he doesn't this week ) and Newman certainly won't be getting dropped. Nor should he be.
NO CHANGE !
-
Omg...
Who was giving the bests...
Grigg was noticeable the least strong link in the chain
-
Out Grigg in Conca
-
Grigg went to Sloane a fair bit too.
Notably both Smith and Sloane had no impact on the game. But I'm not convinced that was due to Grigg.

Vlaustuin was on Sloane most of the night. Did a pretty good job too I thought.
If there's gonna be a change ( knowing Dimma ) it'll be Lennon out for Conca.
Don't waste your typing fingers calling for Grigg to be dropped. It will not happen so get over it.

The Barometer - Round 22
Herald-Sun

RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Ben Lennon is the obvious candidate but it’s hard to judge him after he only took the sub vest off with 10min to go. The man he replaced, Jake Batchelor, is on the fringe while Shaun Grigg has just been OK since coming back into the side. Nathan Foley had 21 disposals but might be in danger with some talent coming back.
ON THE CUSP: Reece Conca is available after serving his two-match suspension and Dan Jackson made a comeback from injury in the VFL at the weekend, collecting 14 disposals and spending plenty of time on the bench; he might need another week. Sam Lloyd (22 disposals, two goals) and Matt Dea (27 disposals) were the standouts at the lower level while Liam McBean booted two goals - he could be a chance if the Tigers stack their forward line in the hope of a big percentage boost against St Kilda.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Another incredible win and another weekend of results in other games falling the Tigers’ way. Special mention to Steven Morris who has copped a few whacks in the Barometer this season but played his best game of the year against Eddie Betts. All the talk is now of a mini elimination final against Sydney in Round 23 but that only happens if Richmond gets over St Kilda - which will surely happen, but they can’t take their eye off the ball - and North Melbourne defeats Adelaide in Hobart. Go Roos.

In:
Conca, Jackson
Out:
Lennon, Grigg
Was Batchelor that bad? Was Newman that bad? Only the give-away-goal to
Eddie was all i can recall ...
Surely a half fit Jackson would do a better tagging job than Grigg?
Harsh on Lennon, but Conca as that extra midfielder would be handy!
Ricky Petterd, his biggest problem is his disposal! courageous YES, but poor skills!
-

Grigg started on Sloane.

Lennon will be a spud there I said it
Just a little early to call I would think. Looks like he has all the attributes of a ready made CHF/Midfielder. Very similar to the role Lids is currently playing.
-
Lennon will be a spud there I said it
Sure you said it, anyone can say anything on the internet, doesn't mean it's true.
My dog has three tails and is only days away from developing a new version of string theory! There I said it..
-
Lennon will be a spud there I said it
The only thing Im worried about is his leg speed, looks very slow.. hopefully its just that he hasnt adjusted to the tempo of afl so looks slower than he actually is

RICHMOND
Midfielder Reece Conca has served his two-game suspension for striking Giant Devon Smith and should make an immediate return for Sunday's clash against St Kilda. Club champion Dan Jackson will work his way back into the team before the end of the season, but this might not be the week after he was managed in his VFL return. Jackson, who had missed three games with a glute injury, had 14 possessions in the state league. Aaron Edwards pushed his case to earn a call up, spending time at both ends of the ground and kicking three goals. Young forward Liam McBean wasn't as prolific as he has been over the past month, but he still hit the scoreboard with two goals and his form stacks up over a sustained period. Sam Lloyd (two goals and 22 possessions) and Matt Dea (27 possessions) were others to throw their names up.

Conca should come straight in for Lennon unless there is an injury we are unaware of. Grigg or Foley as sub.
