Tigers panicked under pressure: Kennelly

Richmond's poor performance in the elimination final against Port Adelaide on Sunday was a result of not being ready for finals intensity, according to former Sydney premiership player Tadhg Kennelly.
Kennelly told SportsFan that Richmond fooled themselves into thinking their final nine games of the season had them prepared for the task in September.
"Richmond fooled themselves a small bit thinking they had won nine in a row playing as if they were in an elimination final week in and week out," Kennelly said. "They weren't elimination finals, they were home and away games because the opposition weren't really set for do-or-die games.
"There is a difference with an elimination final – the pressure and intensity that is there just steps up another level.
"They really panicked and it just showed a lack of composure to be able to deal with it."

That was the biggest issue for mine - could clearly see that all bar a handful couldn't handle the heat and intensity of finals footy

fair cop, worries the night soil out of me for the future. They just don't seem to be able to lift when they need to, looks like the sydney game was their as good as it gets and that was a weakened sydney side ... grim
