A recommendation from the Gold Coast board has found that Guy McKenna should be sacked.
Multiple news outlets are reporting this afternoon that the Suns coach has been sacked however there is no confirmation as of yet.

I thought the GC were starting to comr good this year. Sure they fell away after Ablett got injured but they looked OK to me. Swallow is a talent, they have some really good KPPs. I think the GC will partly shoot themseves in the foot with this.
Bomber took 7 years with Geelong wasnt it? And the year before almost got sacked. Footy has no patience.

Continued improvement with a young list, what more do they want?

A Plan B?

His papers would've been stamped after their defeat at the hands of Brisbane if I were in charge up there. How the hell do you let Rockliff and Hanley accumulate almost 100 possessions between them without shutting one or both them down ? Terrible coaching. A player can still get 30odd with a tag but there's no excuse for having two oppostion players getting nearly 50 possessions a piece.
Maybe Ablett going down showed his real coaching prowess. They were awful without Gaz.

Talking Footy tonight said the word in the room at the Brownlow was McKenna won't survive and the Suns are just biding their time to announce his sacking until they decide who they want to go after as coach.
-
Caro tonight on Footy Classified said she's heard McKenna has lost the support of key players at the Suns and he won't survive.
Hutchy saying watch this space regarding Bomber Thompson and Gold Coast.
-
No wonder.

No wonder.
The doco last night didn't do McKenna any favours when it focused on a 99 point flogging.
-
He was completely uninspiring though, before and after.

Ex-Sun Jared Brennan has given McKenna a clip on the way out ....
"So I just heard bluey got the flick....damn, a year late!!! In all seriousness though, feel for the players that didn't get the chance to develop and excel because of his stubbornness and one minded ways."
