Title: Mike Sheahan's Top 50 for 2014
Post by: one-eyed on October 02, 2014, 03:09:28 AM
Rance, Dusty and Cotch made Mike's post-2014 season Top 50 ....

1. Joel Selwood
2. Nathan Fyfe
3. Lance Franklin
4. Robbie Gray
5. Gary Ablett
6. Josh Kennedy
7. Jordan Lewis
8. Jarryd Roughead
9. Dyson Heppell
10. Travis Boak

11. Scott Pendlebury
12. Eric Mackenzie
13. Luke Hodge
14. Luke Parker
15. Matt Priddis
16. Aaron Sandilands
17. Sam Mitchell
18. Shaun Burgoyne
19. Rory Sloane
20. Tom Rockliff

21. Luke Breust
22. Shane Mumford
23. Patrick Dangerfield
24. Callan Ward
25. Pearce Hanley
26. Nick Malceski
27. Bryce Gibbs
28. Daniel Talia
29. Cale Hooker
30. Matthew Broadbent

31. Nick Riewoldt

32. Alex Rance - Had a delayed then shaky start to his year, but was inspirational in the second half of the season. You have to love the way he attacks the ball ... or the man with the ball. His enthusiasm is infectious, too.

33. Dayne Beams

34. Dustin Martin - Not sure he knows exactly how good he can be. Superb one-on-one player, smart and clever in front of goal. His work ethic needs to improve, but he has all the physical attributes to be a top-10 player. His future will be determined by just how badly he wants to be great.

35. Tom Hawkins
36. David Mundy
37. Brodie Smith
38. Grant Birchall
39. Nick Smith
40. Brendon Goddard

41. Trent Cotchin - Struggled like most of his teammates in the first half of the year, but he’s a class act and emerging as a leader. Big numbers for kicks, handpasses and tackles and is Brownlow-bound if he can continue to improve his work forward of centre. Eighteen goals was a significant improvement.

42. Tom Liberatore
43. Nathan Jones
44. Ben Cunnington
45. David Swallow
46. Brent Harvey
47. Sam Jacobs
48. Hayden Ballantyne
49. Nick Dal Santo
50. Robert Murphy

Injured or not, Ablett is the best play in the comp and the best player I've seen.

One I agree with is Dangerfield, had a poor year despite the brownlow result.

I've given up caring about this poo. Broadbent higher than any RFC player is one I find most hilarious.

Only 3 permanent forwards in his top 50  :lol
With 7 permanent backs
Rest onballers and flankers.
27 through to 30 are a joke! All decent players but top 30 in the AFL  :sleep
stuff I hate Mike Sheahan!
