Nothing interview. Don't bother listening. Why does he even give an interview if he's just going to say we aren't going to be active at all in FA/Trade period

Richmond eyes Levi Greenwood, Ty Vickery to stay

DON'T expect any Tigers to be put on the trade table, with Richmond football manager Dan Richardson saying his players were all happy at Punt Road.
And despite having some interest in North Melbourne midfielder Levi Greenwood, Richardson said he expected the Kangaroo to extend his contract and remain a part of Brad Scott's team.
Speaking on NAB AFL Trade Radio, Richardson said the Tigers would be looking to add midfield depth over the coming months, but would be unlikely to give up players of their own.
"We don't see any indication from any of our players – including (captain) Trent (Cotchin) – that they're interested in playing anywhere else but here, and hopefully be a part of some success we hope to have," Richardson said.
He was quick to dispel any notion Richmond might trade maligned stuff Ty Vickery, saying he was a required player.
Richardson said his non-selection in the final rounds after returning from suspension was solely based on not wanting to upset team chemistry when they were in such good form.
"Tall key-position players that can play in the ruck are players that a lot of clubs are after," he said.
"He was a little disappointed after missing out on selection late in the year when he came back from suspension … but that's not to say from a long-term perspective we don't see him being a real important player for our footy club."
Richardson said the Tigers had all but given up any hope of getting Greenwood, and would not be sacrificing either Reece Conca or Shaun Grigg to do so.
"At this stage it doesn’t seem to make any sense to us that he (Greenwood) would want to leave North Melbourne," he said.
"They're in the process of negotiation and at this stage we haven't received any indication from Levi's management or the Kangaroos that they want to let him go. I'm sure that's where it'll end up."
Richardson also quashed speculation the Tigers had made a play for Sydney Swan Dan Hannebery.
He said Hannebery, contracted until the end of 2016, would be a welcome addition to any midfield, but was unlikely to move.
"Having just lost a Grand Final, I'd be astounded if any Swans players weren't working hard to rectify that. I'd be astounded if any of their players were to move on."

Grigg not up for trade either.
We have no interest in either Jeff Garlett or Mitch Robinson.
Richmond confirms interest in North Melbourne midfielder Levi Greenwood
Herald-Sun
October 02, 2014
RICHMOND will swoop on North Melbourne hard man Levi Greenwood if he is unable to agree to terms at the Kangaroos.
The Herald Sun revealed on Tuesday Greenwood was unsigned for next season despite an expected top-three finish in tomorrow night’s best and fairest.
The Roos remain confident a deal for Greenwood is imminent, but will likely have to increase their offer to the onballer on the back of his career-best season.
Richmond head of football Dan Richardson said the Tigers were interested in Greenwood if he decided to leave Arden St.
“He’s the type of player certainly that there is some interest from us in, but look, at this stage, I think at the moment it doesn’t seem to make any sense to us that he would want to leave North Melbourne,” Richardson said on AFL trade radio.
“At this stage we haven’t received any indication from Levi’s management or the Kangaroos that they want to let him go.
“I’m sure that’s where he will end up, most of the time it does.
“Certainly he’s a player that we have got some interest in. He’s good friends with Aaron Edwards, who ironically we’ve delisted.
“So we’ve got some understanding of where Levi’s at, but until anything falls out with the Kangaroos I think that’s probably where that will end up.”
Richardson ruled out trading for Carlton pair Mitch Robinson and Jeff Garlett, while contracted Tigers Shaun Grigg and Tyrone Vickery would not be offered up.

All I can say is Grigg must have photos......
-
You'd be a fool not to offer up Shaun Grigg if it was going to get you Greenwood :lol. Better player plus we offload a soft outside player who we started playing inside for a genuine inside mid

Why would we not be interested in Gartlett? Is it because he's an aborriginee

Is there such thing as an aboriginal muslim?

maybe coz he's a stuff up that struggled on the field when eddie left and he copped all the attention?

Yeah, Mundine is one

Yep, this.
It would go against the 'good-character' rhetoric continually coming out of the club, if they suddenly recruited a player that had been in trouble for off-field issues/matters at his former club.

A bit more from Dan Richardson:
* Really want to improve our midfield depth. We feel this draft has a lot of depth in that area. We'll also be proactive in looking at players from other clubs but that will depend on what happens during the trade period.
* Midfield bull and outside speed are the types we need.
* Vickery is definitely a required player. A key position player who can play in the ruck. Clubs want these types and we're fortunate to have a couple of them. We're keen to hold onto Ty.
* Dusty - we'll work through a new contract in the appropriate time. He's had a very good year. Haven't put much thought into it. Got 12 months to sort that out.
* Small forwards - it's an area we're keen to develop (i.e. develop our young players such as Gordon, Lloyd & McDonough). More likely an area we'll look into in the draft. Don't have interest in Garlett or Saad. Discussed them but Jeff's off-field issues were a concern and we decided not to go down that path.
* Be outstanded if Hannebery wanted to leave Sydney or the Swans wanted to let him go.
* Rucks - Browny said you've only got Hampson to back up Ivan. Dan replied we've also got Vickery, Griffiths and McBean (in the VFL) who can play in the ruck. Browny said they are more forwards. Dan said they are forward/rucks and are still capable of playing in the ruck.
* Hampson - We still need to work with Shaun and develop him further as a footballer. Earlier in the year he was able to get his hands to the footy in the ruck but didn't do enough around the ground. We need to continue to support him and develop him in 2015.
* If Greenwood becomes available, would Conca or Grigg be put on the trade table? Dan replied "No".

hmmm, I've heard from some that this draft is lighter on for midfield talent than usual, but Dan says otherwise, any junior/draft watchers care to share their thoughts?

From what I can gather it's around the average but the consensus seems to be that it's likely there'll be a better chance of picking up good mids later than usual due to the supposedly higher number of tall talent pushing them down the order.
