Late change: Hilton in; Graham out apparently.
-
Gas - McPharlin
Hall - Pavlich
Cogs - Haselby
Tuck - M.Carr
Simmonds - Longmuir in ruck
Richo - Parker
Q1
Richmond 2.0-12
Fremantle 1.2-8
We've won both CB clearances but both times rebounded for a Freo score :(.
Onya Hydey :thumbsup
Finally a clearance that we get a goal from (Richo)
-
Simmonds handball over the top to Gaspar under pressure :banghead
Missed goal yet again.
Sorry Julz, this guy is useless :'(
-
Simmonds is thrashing longmuir in the ruck and is actualy holding onto his marks so far [oops I spoke too quickly lol] .
Geez 5 straight inside 50s and we've only got 2 points from them :scream
-
Yeah, but that handball when tambling was waiting an eternity on his own :banghead
Something like 12 inside 50s to 4 - we should have a good break on them
-
Tambling hammy - not having much luck this year :'(
-
Richo - hit the post! :scream We should be murdering them by now :banghead.
Bad luck to Tambo. Geez he's having rotten luck :(.
-
Our hitting targets is atrocious, a la Newman's last effort straight over the head of our player :banghead
-
Not a good week to give up smoking lol :banghead
-
:rollin Moi. Even 100 nicorette patches wouldn't be enough lol.
Our hitting targets is atrocious, a la Newman's last effort straight over the head of our player :banghead
Yep. If we lose tonight it'll be our own fault. Only 5 points up after dominating the inside 50s is disgraceful. Freo have been crap so far.
At least on the postive side we actually turned up to the game from the start this week.
-
Moi. Even 100 nicorette patches wouldn't be enough lol.
I lasted a week cold turkey - can you just imagine being around me this week :rollin
But i bombed out last night with a few drinks :banghead
-
Well done doing it cold turkey Moi :thumbsup
Richo misses again :banghead
-
Congrats Rory on that last attack on the ball :thumbsup
-
I'm going to have a hard week defending Sugar from X lol. He and Josh Carr have nullified each other.
Another point :banghead
-
How can you defend the indefensible?
-
Yay, Simmo hit a target lol :thumbsup
-
Gee looks what happens when we play direct footy out of defence - Goal...surprise surprise Tigers it ain't rocket science
Well done lids :thumbsup
You would think if you were a commentator you would learn which player is which ::).
Tiges 3.4-22
Freo 2.5-17
-
Yeah Richo another one.
Tiges 4.4-28
Freo 2.5-17
-
I like Foley - heard at the beginning of the game Bell was trying to put him off his game. He seems pretty solid and is doing ok :thumbsup
Go Richo - amazing what a bit of brain damage can do for ya lol - he's having a great game!
-
Foley's just showing he shouldn't have been dropped last week. Doing well.
Lids is flying.
Bloody Farmer and Medhurst :banghead
Tiges 4.5-29
Freo 3.6-24
-
Kunta Kinty Des Headland :banghead
-
Headland you soft coward. See ya Tuesday night.
Cogs misses from 35m out and Freo runs up the other end and goals :scream
Scores level.
-
2 goal in red time to Freo. Poor effort Tiges.
How can it be advantage if the ball goes to a Freo player ???
Mark big fella! Please Richo just kick it :-\......... missed :help
-
You give a guy a wrap and look what he does lol :rollin
-
Richo's workrate is unbelievable and he is killing Parker but as we know he's totally unreliable as a goalkicker. 16 disposals in a half for a forward shows a fantastic effort but 2.3 from a FF is poor.
3 straightforward set shots missed (2 to Richo, 1 Cogs) :banghead. Just kills us. We should be a couple of goals in front but we're 5 point down >:(.
-
lol @ Richo. Nails a tough pass to Bowden yet misses simple set shots.
Goal to Joel
Scores level.
-
Was a great pass wasn't it - he's doing it all tonight :bow
-
Tiges in trouble now :-\. Geez the cough ups :scream
We need a goal badly.
-
Our skill errors have been bad all night but we're still in it. Commentators so negative saying we're tiring - i don't see it.
Go Tiges!
-
Goal to Pettifer. More through chance than purpose :-\.
Tiges 6.7-43
Freo 7.8-50
-
Luv Simmo's decision making lol :lol :rollin
-
Bad luck Simmo, was a good effort on goal
-
Is Richo our only forward?
Sounds like dodgy umpire decision - was Simmo's kick touched Moi?
-
Have to see again, MT - dunno.
Freo got a good break, but not the end i don't think.
LMAO commentators thinking this would be a shoot out - been pretty tight all night till now.
-
Bloody mistakes and fumbles :banghead.
We just can't kick a couple of goals in a row. Everytime we get one back Freo respond :(.
-
Pleased with the effort so far tonight, but the skill errors are the same as years gone by. I thought we would have eradicated more of it by now, but same old stuff.
Moore dropped a soda :banghead
-
Why can't a player like Hall who is under no pressure pass to another player (Campbell) 20 metres away who is not under press and hit him on the chest? :banghead
Another stuff up Pettifer :banghead
Just basic skill errors letting us down :banghead :banghead :banghead
-
Another simple set shot missed to Pettifer. What a joke.
Seriously how hard is it to kick set shot goals virtually directly in front. I can at understand errors occurring under pressure but set shots! ??? AFL standard footballers - what a joke :banghead.
3/4 time
Tiges 7.9-51
Freo 10.9-69
We should be 11.5-71 >:(
-
Gee those WA commentators on Fox Footy are pathetic!
According to them:
All our goals have been lucky.
The umpires have been favouring the Tigers.
If a Freo player punches a Richmond player it shouldn't be a free kick.
Headland's report was weak.
Fremantle are unlucky not to be 10 goals infront.
:lol :lol :lol
-
facts are Razor, we should be miles ahead and it's not becasue of Freo's great play, but our own ineptness :banghead
-
Even Lids hit the post :scream :scream :scream
They must do this to delibrately frustrate us :help.
Freo run it down for a goal :banghead.
-
They must do this to delibrately frustrate us .
Not a good week to give up drinking either lol :cheers
-
Go Petticoat :thumbsup :thumbsup
-
Pettifer bagged 2 quick ones :thumbsup
You can't knock our endeavour but as you say Moi our ineptness is disgraceful.
Tiges 9.11-65
Freo 11.11-77
We should be 14.6-90. We've cost ourselves 25 points :banghead.
-
Freo aren't disguising their deliberate out of bounds very well and getting away with it :banghead
-
Can't knock the Tiges endeavour but that one might be the nail in the coffin :(
-
Freo aren't disguising their deliberate out of bounds very well and getting away with it :banghead
Not surprising with umpires interstate ::)
Richo another miss although a fair way out this time :-\.
Freo get the sealer on another rebound out of our forward line :banghead. 6PR say it should have been a free to Gas against McPharlin >:(. Now Gas gets a free. A bit late umpire :rolleyes
Tiges 9.12-66
Freo 12.13-85
-
Bad luck Tiges - you tried really hard - just not good enough with your skill errors :'(
Lots more work over summer me thinks, but i'm happy with what you've achieved this year.
Go Tiges!
-
:banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
Hello? Krakoeur - were you even there? Tambling seems to be picking up some of Kraks bad habits - back to Coburg. Lids is a champion in the making. Foley looks good. Moore - :-\ Even I got frustrated at Simmo tonight. And at one stage Richo looked to be the only person in our forward area.
Hitting the post 3 times and Simmo's disallowed goal didn't help matters.

Tigers down to Freo at Subi

Exclusive to richmondfc.com.au
Richmond's finals prospects have taken a serious hit with the Tigers going down to Fremantle by 27-points at Subiaco Oval on Saturday night.
Richmond was top four earlier in the year while Fremantle was hovering towards the foot of the ladder, but the 13.15 (93) to 9.12 (66) result means a club-record-equalling five consecutive wins for the Dockers.
Brett Deledio continues to demonstrate why he was the top pick in last year's NAB AFL Draft, showing poise and class beyond his years, and he got good support through the middle from skipper Kane Johnson, Mark Coughlan and Shane Tuck.
Matthew Richardson worked hard all night for little reward as the midfield kept kicking it on top of his head, Chris Hyde constantly put his body on the line and Joel Bowden did well on Des Headland.
Headland was reported for contact with Wayne Campbell during a second term melee which developed after Headland cannoned in to Mark Coughlan late after Coughlan had marked.
Josh Carr proved that you don't need to win a lot of the ball to be effective, collecting 10 touches for three goals.
Brother Matthew continued his steadying influence in the middle, David Mundy provided class and Aaron Sandilands played one of his best games for the club. Matthew Pavlich had a good tussle with Ray Hall and finished with four goals.
The Tigers fielded a very young side with a third of the team being first or second year players, but having Darren Gaspar back was a bonus, while Jeff Farmer was back from a hamstring injury for Fremantle.
A virtually skill-free first quarter saw Fremantle get the first goal through Pavlich, but Richmond replied through Hyde and Richardson, and the Tigers led by five points at quarter time.
Justin Longmuir marked and goaled in just over a minute, but just as in the first term, the Tigers kicked the next two when Deledio slotted one from 45 metres, and then Richardson got a free for Shane Parker hanging all over him.
But Fremantle responded when Farmer snapped, then David Mundy hit one on the run from 50 before Pavlich nailed his third from outside 50, and the hosts went to the long break five points to the good.
Fremantle dominated the third term, but only increased its lead by 13 points. Joel Bowden goaled first for the visitors after a terrific pass from Richardson, but Pavlich replied with one from 50.
Josh Carr then kicked three of the next four before Bowden got his second of the term. Headland got Fremantle's last of the term, and Kane Pettifer had a shot from 40 after the siren but hit the right-hand stick for just a minor score.
Heath Black got the first of the last for Fremantle, but Pettifer slotted two in a minute to get the margin down to 10 points, but several behinds and a major to Luke McPharlin restored the margin to more than three straight kicks.
Richmond coach Terry Wallace said his side didn't do as well as it should have in the first half.
"Look, we had our opportunities early in the game and really didn't make the most of our chances," he said.
"I thought certainly in the first quarter in particular we had a lot more inside-50s than the opposition. We were pummeling the ball down there, but we weren't able to get a structure that was able to hurt them.
"I was really disappointed with our guys at half-time to come in behind - I just thought we had missed opportunities."
Next week Richmond is at Telstra Dome to play the resurgent Bulldogs.

Not a good week to give up smoking lol :banghead
Well I almost took up drinking after the game >:( Foreign land and stupid local supporters. What a lovely night at Subiaco Oval :banghead :banghead
As I posted somewhere else - we were the better team up until half time. Should have been 3-4 goals up. Forget about hitting unmarked targets 20 metres away - poor goal kicking is worse.
I was pleased with Foley's game thought he did Ok on Bell - at least Bell knew he was in a contest. Also having weatched teh replay this morning while enjoying breakfast ;) I must say that the TV certainly didn't do Axle's "bottom of the pack" stuff any justice at all.
I think they should rename Tim Gosage: Tim Gooseage because his biased commentary makes Eddie McEverywhere looked balanced ;D
:banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead
Hello? Krakoeur - were you even there?
Well he was on the bench for long periods but didn't have any inluence when he was on. Horribly out of form at the moment IMO
Tambling seems to be picking up some of Kraks bad habits - back to Coburg.
Patience Julz ;) Struggling for fitness a bit I reckon. I sometimes think he is trying to hard
Lids is a champion in the making.
Yes very good last night - would almost have the Rising Star Award in the bag. Would be the highlight of what's turning into another disappointing season (I'll explain the disappointing bit in a minute)
Even I got frustrated at Simmo tonight.
His set shot kicking for goal is currently pathetic having been upgraded from woeful
And at one stage Richo looked to be the only person in our forward area.
Just want to add - poor Patto made some good leads and got ignored but hell at least he contested well when we had no choice but to kick to him
Now just on my disappointing season comment.
I know we have improved and I really glad that we have because 2004 was the pits...
But my expectations changed after our start to the season. And it doesn't matter which way I look at it, it appears at the moment we may have let a massive opportunity slip and for that I cannot help but be extremely disappointed.
-
Yes it is disappointing, especially when we were 7-2 at one stage. You do wonder how different it would all be if Browny hadn't broken his leg.
-
We may well have won some extra games had Browny played, but as good as the experience could be for the players, it might also give an over-inflated view of things and do more long term harm than good. The reality is that until we can add some real depth to our list then we’re going to get found out once injuries start to mount.
Even though it looks like we’ll miss out on the finals, and the air seems to have gone out of the tyres a bit, at least we don’t seem to be just limping our way to the end of the season, as happened the last couple of years.
-
Yes it is disappointing, especially when we were 7-2 at one stage. You do wonder how different it would all be if Browny hadn't broken his leg.
Agree with TS. We could have turned narrow losses into narrow wins say against the Eagles, Port and Freo with Browny in the side but we still would killed in winning uncontested footy as well as our pitiful disposal and decision making. We don't have enough pace and skill through the midfield and we lack depth. Recruiting 3 quick and skilled midfielders with our first 3 picks was the right way to go but that won't pay off for another couple of years.
Kellaway also has been a huge loss. We knew at the start of the year we couldn't afford any of our talls in our defence to miss games. Losing him has hurt our backline structure.
