No I heard it on SEN 10 minutes ago while I was driving home ;D
Have also heard he's been offered a new deal by the Tiges, so it would appear it is up to Matty Dea ;D

Brett Anderson from inside footy who's doing the trade central thing on SEN with Huddo didn't mention what sort of pick just the doggies were very interested

Would do get a quick player with pooty skills like Dea
-
At least the Dogs can see what I can. Will be a good AFL footballer when he is given a go IMO. Hopefully that is as a Tiger.
Cannot believe Houli gets a game before this kid. Staggering!

r u stupid?you could cut off Houli's legs and he'd still dispose of it better than Dea

He had 7 games in a row this year in his 5th year, how much more of a go can he get?

Yer your right. 7 games is enough. :help

I reckon there's a likelihood he'll turn into a good player. I'm with big tone on this one
-
i'm not surprised there's a bit of interest , he would have played 22 games with most other clubs , no shame in not breaking into one of the best defensive units going around in the back half of year. we wont be letting him go for a R3 selection after the development we ve put into him , that's an insult quite frankly, top 30 or nothing at all :shh

Take it and run.

....like the wind....

He should be staying and given more game time.Duds like Petterd and Thomas should go.
-
Brett Anderson's twitter:
Out of contract by my records. Dogs have an interest.
Will depend on what Tigers can get in. He's no guarantee to leave, but he's got at least one suitor.

Ask for a second round pick ... then deal.
He should be playing ahead of Newman but Hardwick has his favourites!

No what's silly is Newman gets an extra year and should have hung the boots up this year and this kid given the right development can play. Played 7 in a row most of them whilst Newman was injured.
Kid should be ahead of Newman in the seniors. FFS. :help

Welcome back my friend!
Rumour is McDonough staying but Arnot maybe delisted. We can blame Newman's re-signing for that.

Great to be back Doc. Although holidays are nicer too. It's like I never left. ;D
Mid table stagnation here we come.
Yeah that Newman re- signing is wrong on so many levels regarding our list.
Will bite us on the kolo next year.
We have evolved to a mid table club and that's it, nothing more and potentially less. :help

im sick to death of hearing the lame duck excuse of , bloody hell they wont play him so how do we know. or they wont give him a go and he deserves a go.
cmon guys this bloke is 23 hes managed 31 games of which 99% of them have been underwhelming and that is if posssible probably being kind.
you blokes know what. when the likes of dea arnot helbig come into the team and outperfrom the lambasted older hacks then maybe we could say they deserve a chance. thing is they have never done it. dea has had 5 yrs of chances and yes i like him and some of his traits but ffs its up to him to grab his chances and outperfrom the houlis petterds newmans of the team.
and i understand the thinking when we say we need to stop rewarding mediocrity week after week in the ones but the simple fact is those we lambast and moan and bitch about quite simply out perform younger players who never it seems to grasp the opportunity when its given.
after 5 yrs it is time for the club to look at minimising its losses. i really dont see a lot of these players banging the door down .
what i find unbelievable is how people can complain about a bloke being traded out with the record dea has. i swear some on here would never change the list because they fear they may be giving something decent or even just plain okay away.it doesnt work that way.
just to finish as stated i like dea i would have liked to see him play a few more games. i would rther keep dea and cut newman. but i want matt dea to grab the bull by the horns show he really belongs and force the buggers to play him. id want him to come in when he got his chance and go hey look here you muthers i belong. after 5yrs hes not anywhere near that. we live on potential.

Claw, all you do is look at stats and records. IMO you have no "feel" for the game.
Sometimes you need to disregard all the facts and figures and go with what you see. If you said I dont think he will make it because A, B and C, like I have said about Biff, and not because he hasn't played enough games in 5 years.
But all you do is look at age, games played and stats in those games. And 9 times out of 10 you would be right but sometimes players just need a bit of luck and a bit of confidence from the coaches and things change pretty quick. I do see something in Matty Dea and I saw the same thing in Rance as he was developing. Say what you like, and I'm sorry for bringing it up again but you didn't rate Rance for a long time, and everybody on here knows it..
I'm not a big one good excuses for players and I run out of patience pretty quick with them but this kid has something, I have seen it. It may not yet have shown up on one of your lists but it's there.
Massive mistake if we trade him IMO.

I'm with you most of the way. BUT look at how Griff went when he got a real go. When players are in out all the time it mucks around with their confidence. Give them a red hot go. Grii got better and better this year. maybe if dea or mcdo weren't constantly know they are going to get dropped as soon as newman comes back in they would be better off?? Comments?

bt im one who who has said for 5 yrs now matt dea has to stay. wtf i see plenty oif of our player or used to i constantly say i go to stats to back up what i see.
alex rance your right i didnt and continue to be sceptical about areas of his game.
i dont caere what you think but key parts of alexs game were very suspect and vulnerable.im not so small to not admit hes improved but along the journey he imo deserved the criticisms.
i still think and would like for us to build the kpd depth tp the stage where rance plays the third tall role. that is not a criticism even i have to admit he has improved those areas ive been critical of. alex rance affords the footy club the luxury of playing three kpds and people just cant see it.
in a way im offended i watch players a damn site more closely than the vast majority, im happy to say i have rarely got it wrong.i will say it again i advocated we take rance and i got pulled up over a few things. those things were ball use and his ability in the air,ffs he has been rightly criticised for both areas he deserved criticism for other things as well. due credit to him hes worked on these areas and yes hes improved. i hate stats and i use them to confirm what i see and they help judge judge output. my eyes tell me all i really need to know especially when you have a large ah stuff it i really cant be bothered if you think i use nothing but stats good for you it shows just how much real attention you have paid to my posts over the yrs.
like you i like matt dea but i will continue to say our freakin footy club is negligent in hanging onto players like matt dea who show limited improvement and get 5 6 7 yrs or more even.
me id rather go back to the well and if someone was to offer up a reasonable pick for him id take it and back myself in to use the pick well.

Dea was playing some real good footy in the magoos towards the end of the year. Obviously hard to break into the senior team ahead of Dimma's favorites. Even harder when we're winning.
I'm glad we re-signed him.

misfiring neurons?
chemical imbalance?

Dea owned the defence every game he played this year in the 2nds. The player he is now to the player he was when he arrived is a massive difference. Not only was he beating very opponent he played on but his intercept marking was a highlight this year. Deserved another year and should always play before old man Newman. FYI his kicking is solid too...

Totally agree. Has improved in every facet of his game since joining the Tigers and his kicking is probably the stand out. Also a very good mark. Probably taken a year or so more than your normal recruit but he was coming from a long way back.
Really hope he is given every opportunity (not 7games) to show what he can do. Offers so much more than Newman, Batch and Houli as a backmen.

i heard of the few players who we thought were uncontracted some were actually resigned before the b&f. i heard dea was one of em. when WP also mentioned this in a post i thought well theres something to it. was asking if dea was one of them would be nice to know exactly who was out of contract at the time of the trade period. less than most think i reckon.

I agree, it would be disappointing if true.
Especially seing he was only offered a year.
