SuperFooty rates the depth of every AFL club’s forward line
Gilbert Gardiner and Adam Baldwin

February 19, 2015
In the latest instalment of SuperFooty’s 2015 depth chart series, we’ve assessed every AFL club’s forward line by breaking down the players likely to spend the most time in that part of the ground into four brackets.
The headliners — Tier 1 players — would get games in the best 22 of most sides, while the support cast — Tier 2 — is made up of depth/specialist players.
A third — understudy — group is for those in a development phase who are good enough to warrant senior selection.
We’ve added an extras bracket for those on the cusp of selection, ready and able to replace an established star should he be sidelined through injury, suspension or form.
RICHMOND
Headliners
Jack Riewoldt
Brett Deledio
Cast
Shane Edwards
Tyrone Vickery
Nathan Foley
Ricky Petterd
Ben Griffiths
Understudies
Ben Lennon
Extras
Nathan Gordon
Liam McBean
Verdict:
While Hardwick likes to spruik Richmond’s many avenues to goals, Riewoldt is a classic full-forward who thrives when the ball is pumped in his direction. The Tigers received healthy production last year from Edwards, Deledio and Dustin Martin when he was sent deep but are dying for Vickery or Griffiths to step up and become a bona fide secondary tall option for Riewoldt. Ben Lennon will see more action in his second season and Reece McKenzie is one to watch for the future.
