I've watched this and it always annoys me how they disregard our 9 wins and focus on the final only when making a call on whether they think we will make the finals.
Not many teams win 9 games in a row during the season!!

Lingy on them money

We will be lucky to even make it to the end of the season.

Because if you can't play finals footy your really no good as a footy team.

When it comes down to it softy lollipop pansy footy can only get you so far in this comp. If we were regarded as a tough, ferocious, hard at the contest, uncompromising and able to play man on man then nobody would be commenting about the final because we most probably either would've won or came close to winning.
We are still regarded by many as the "egg team" and that won't change until we manifest some more toughness on the field and are able to play man on man, especially in finals.

No-one wouldve beaten port that day - no-one. Our best wouldve been 5-6 goals short and thats the truth. Not condoning our performance, it was pathetic and i wouldve at least liked to see some fight in the first stanza but dont for a second think we couldve ever won that one.

If we went with the wind we would've smashed them

that wind was mental, we stitched ourselves up, they had a home ground advantage as it was, then we kicked ourselves in the balls and gave em a cyclonic wind head start kicking for goals.  We were eating poo for the rest of the match trying to play catch up half blown and they didn't break a sweat exposing the difference in fitness levels.  Theirs are very good ours look crap by comparison We need to improve out of sight this year.

disagree they were allowed to do what they pleased with little or no pressure applied to them in return. so many soft players  coupled with glass half fulls has been and remains our biggest sinle problems.
ffs the weak ones with no  intestinal fortitude
houli, grigg, grimes, griffiths,ellis, chaplin,
the battlers who just arent good enough
petterd, newman, edwards conca, gordon foley batchelor. and im being very kind.

what the hell is going to change under this regime. you can bank on it very little. apart from maybe one or two the lot of them have reached their ceiling and it has never ever been good enough.

mate they were too good for us, their best was better than ours. Even at our best we wouldn't have won that, and given their performances for the rest of the finals series against better sides than us including an unlucky losss to the premiers, I stand by my comment that no team would've beaten Port that day, we're just lucky they took the foot off the gas and we were able to make the score "respectable" lmao

Port were incredible
We were pathetic and embarrassing
Even at our best, we wouldn't have got within 5-6 goals

What are you gonna do? We need to get better

mate that game there would have been less than 80 tackles  a freakin final ffs. we thrive on bruise free footy and they smashed us at our own game. they werent some super powered team they were allowed to do what they liked as if it was a practice game.
my oath they looked awesome but a hell of a lot of it came down to just how pathetic/soft  we were.

Agree with the bit about us but disagree about them - I was there, Ive seen a lot of footy in my time and Ive never ever seen a team run like that, their gut running was something to behold and something you don't see on TV, they torched us over and over again, was just incredible to watch tbh. and they were a super powered team, took care of business pretty easily over in the west a week later and then were all over the eventual premiers in the prelim away. Its not like Im trying to make excuses for us if that's what your getting at? I think ive mentioned multiple times how pathetic we were.

Besides how good they were that day we are still the "Egg" team.

That perception will never change unless we change our ways on the field especially in finals.

I still remember we used to be feared especially in finals but that was a long long time ago......
