Retired:
Campbell
Graham
Delist:
Morrison - 25yo next season, just simply not up to it.
Hilton - 27yo next season, is just too inconsistent and his injury history is a concern.
Moore - 22yo next season, has shown very little in 3 years at the club, i doubt he will be able to bulk up.
Question Marks:
Stafford - Can his body handle another season? Do we need him?
Tivendale - 27yo next season, inconsistent, turnover prone, will take away opportunities from our younger midfielders.
Chaffey - 29yo next season, how long will it take for him to get over his OP? Like Tivs will take away opportunities for our kids.
Hartigan - 20yo and makes too many mistakes IMO, can he fix this? Attitude problem?
Foley - Has he shown enough to justify being put on the senior list?
Roach - Has he shown enough at Coburg to warrant being kept?
Archibald - Ditto
Gilmour - Ditto x2

Agree re. Hilton + Morrison. Morrison is not up to it. Hilton offers nothing in the modern game. The only thing slower than his legs is his brain. Moore, well I'll leave that up to Plough, because I've hardly seen anything of the lad.
Stafford - not needed IMO. Simmonds, Knobel, Hall at a pinch can all Ruck. Pattison waiting in the wings. Would have liked to have seen Stafford retire this season.
Tivendale - See if he is wanted. If we got a 3rd or 4th round pick for him, then I would take it.
Chaffey - I think he has done OK. We won't get anything for him @ 29, when is his contract up?
Hartigan, Foley - 1 more. With these young guys, yeah they might have had 3 seasons, but only one under a good coach. Same goes for Gilmour who was doing pretty well until getting injured.
We really need 3 or 4 mid range players to step up and become really dependable AFL players. We have some out-and-out duds, but there are players out there who are mediocre in the true sense of the word. Can Hall step up and play KPP? He needs a good 8 kgs IMO. Will Hyde rediscover his form and become a hard running midfield player? Can Krakouer reach any level of consistency? Even Cogs - will he ever learn to kick properly, or at least put the left boot away?
Yeah we can get rid of the duds, but unless we make some of the players mentioned above markedly better, then the dud clearout will just become a never ending story, year after year.

Out of contract but definitely Keep
Bowden, Tuck, Johnson, Pettifer, Kellaway.
Retired:
Campbell
Graham
Stafford
Delist:
Morrison - too slow and not up to it.
Hilton - ditto.
Trade:
Tivendale - Contracted to the end of next year. 26 y.o. with no right foot and hasn't play to his strengths at Punt Road for the last 2 years. Like Fiora other clubs IMO may think they could use him. We could again get involved in a 3-way trade.
Question Marks:
Moore - I believe he's contracted for another year.
Hall - will stay because of lack of KPPs
Hyde - keep.
Chaffey - I think Terry will keep him. Chafs has no trade value at 29 y.o. with O.P.
Hartigan - keep. Still only 20.
Foley - personally I think he's another Craig Ednie in that he's too small but I think he'll be kept.
Archibald - had O.P. in his first year so this was really his first real season. I haven't seen enough of him at Coburg to judge.
Jackson and Gilmour - Given the upcoming draft is apparently weak we won't use many picks so I think they'll be persisted with.
Roach - depends on what we do with Foley.
-------------------------------
We will most likely have four National draft picks 8, 24, 40, 56 (I think we'll pass on 72) plus 1 pre-season pick at #5 . So that's 5 players we need turned over.
With Cambo, Graham, Staff retired and Hilton and Morrison delisted that's the 5. Trading say Tivs will just be a swap for another pick or player.
Forgot about Thursfield and possibly Foley being promoted. So that's another two that have to go to fit them on the senior list unless we pass on pick 56 then it's down to one. So Roach may not be safe.
The 2006 draft is meant to be a ripper so probably next year is a better opportunity for another clean out and with another year under there belts we'll have a more certain idea if Gilmour, Archibald, etc are worth persisting with.
-
Campbell, Graham and Morrison are definites. Any two of Stafford, Tivendale, Hilton, Moore, Roach, Archibald or Chaffey will do. They are all delist-worthy but we won't be guillotining a big section of the list this year.

morrison - gone!
moore- is athletic and can play fwd and back and is tall , he is young and he will stay , remeber the kids in this years draft are no where near last years!
hilton - will stay, we lack experienced middle aged gutsy players andf he is so versitile and i believ ge did are reall good job yesterday , didnt getthe credit he deserved, poo how many goals did his opponent get on him! and he put his body in hard many times! he is an underrated player with king size balls
stafford - will stay, we need his leadership and experience and will help in the development of patterson
tivendale - should be let go, traded or delisted , he has no spot in our team
chaffey - "see tivendale"
hartigan , foley, roach, jackson, will all stay on our list because as i said teh draft is thin this yr. and they will all improve with another tw pre season
archibald and gilmore are project players and gilmore has class and is very yound. he just had an injury plagued season and will stay , we wont be able to draft a better player than him so why get rid of him.
hall - in the passed few weeks has saved his career
krak - played a gr8 game yesterday and will stay also, he will be given one more yr to improve his fitness and he will, he is one of teh smartest and best tackler in our team! watch out 4 him next season
cogs - he will be given one more yr to get over his pubic instability, after next yr if its not better goodbye, even though he played a gr8 shut dwn role yesterday, we cant just keep mamaging his injury if it will never heal. noticed he rarely kicks on his right side any more.
so in summary
graham(r)
campbell(r)
tivendale
chaffey
morrison, will not be here next yr, thats 5, with a possibility of a young kid or esrtablished player traded to make 6. i have a feeliong there will be a shock surprise this upcoming trade period

I am not so sure about Hilton getting the flick anymore - why would you play him these last few weeks if you were going to cut him- knowing that's highly doubtful he'd be picked up by anyone else? Personally I'd cut him but .....
Moore - flip of a coin I reckon
Question Marks:
Stafford - Can his body handle another season? Do we need him?
Yep IMO we need him. First up he has a presence and is intimidating (just look at yesterday's game when Corey saw him an retreated 3 steps back ;D). We need a protector and most of all we need his experience. Permanant forward but I'd keep
Tivendale - 27yo next season, inconsistent, turnover prone, will take away opportunities from our younger midfielders.
Contracted soo it has to be a trade
Chaffey - 29yo next season, how long will it take for him to get over his OP? Like Tivs will take away opportunities for our kids.
Keep has earnt it
Hartigan - 20yo and makes too many mistakes IMO, can he fix this? Attitude problem?
Definitely no attitude problem - skills need work but is quick and we need that for the run and carry game plan
Foley - Has he shown enough to justify being put on the senior list?
Yes I would say he is ahead of a couple of others now e.g Roach
Roach - Has he shown enough at Coburg to warrant being kept?
Don't know but wouldn't be surprised if he was traded
Archibald - Ditto
Gilmour - Ditto x2
Gilmour will get one more year but it's make or break time. Has to get fit seems to struggle to overcome injury
Archie - another year- OP for all of 2004 and improved greatly in 2005 at Coburg - like alot of other young bloke needs alot of work in the skills department
And can I just add.....
That I would not be disappointed or angry if we made tough calls on blokes that enabled us to trade up in the pecking order in the draft. I know alot are saying Tivendale should go but realistically what would we get for him? If the talent pool is as light on as they say then you wont a top 15 pick not a late 20's early 30's one
-
Even though it is a weak draft we still need to draft 4-5 young players , 3 is too few. Most of our players
aren't worth much hopefully we can snag a 3rd round or even a 2nd round pick somehow, also a full rookie list is essential.
-
We need to make some tough decisions.
In my opinion:
Foley, isnt up to it. Too slow and also too small as MT said he is another Craig Ednie. Dont waste time on him.
Moore: Appears to be in the "Not big enough, but too big catergory" wont make key position and is stuggling up forward. I would like to see him get another year played as a back pocket or back flank.
Archibald: Shows good leadership at Coburg and gives his all, another season as last year was a write off.
Roach: Had a good second half of the year for Coburg and that will also see him get another year.
Hilton: Has done ok in the seniors but we wouldnt miss him. Get rid of him, although i think Wallace may want to keep him
krak - played a gr8 game yesterday and will stay also, he will be given one more yr to improve his fitness and he will, he is one of teh smartest and best tackler in our team! watch out 4 him next season
Must have been a different game to the one i was at. We must get rid of Krak while we can still get something for him. Waste of space. 12 of his 16 possesions yesterday were while we kicked into the wind so they mean jack as all we did was try to play keepings off.
When we were attacking with the wind, Krak only had 4 touches in 2 qtrs. Not good enough
Hyde: Hasnt been the same since his head clash, i am sure he will be kept on the list unless someone shows interest.
Obviously Campbell, Graham and Morrison are gone.
Throw in Hilton and possibly Tivs as a trade and there is 5. One of Archibald or Gilmour good be in trouble also.
Wouldnt be suprised if they throw Hartigans name up for trade along with Jackson.
-
Wallace forecast a relatively minor turnover of the playing list and said with 20 players under the age of 21 there would be no major cull, but said the harsh realities of AFL football meant that some players would be looking for other clubs.
"Some players I'll be speaking to them about where their futures are at and other players I'll be letting them know where their futures lie and that's the nature of the business that we're in."

Sounds like most of us are pretty much on the money with our predicted 5 or so changes to the list.
