Keep playing C. Ellis I reckon. Conca apparently injured in the VFL.
McBean in for Vick and that's it I reckon.
-
One forced change.
McBean in for Vickery (knee).
-
Struggled a bit Ellis didn't he , couple,of fumbles early , didn't get too involved . Maybe one more. Menadue did a couple of good things,,,,yea Mcbean straight in

Corey Ellis needs more games. He is there abouts at the moment but we will have a much better player in 40 games time I reckon.

I wouldn't be unhappy for Grimes to get a week for pushing the dazed bloke.
Dog act.

Please tell me you just heard about it but didn't see it.
It was the second weakest contact the world has ever seen (the 'hit') followed by the actual weakest contact the world has ever seen (the 'push' when he was down).
Nobody would possibly give a crap...

Wake up....it happens every week multiple times. Grimes played a great game tonight.

Maybe they should take the four points of us for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Turn it up.
Bloke was clearly down and hazy and Grimes was running back past him after the whistle had gone.
He just pushed him out of instinct but it was still a poor act.
-
Out: Vickery
In McBean

It wasn't even a forceful push and you have no idea what the guy had done to Dylan behind play. If he hadn't done anything then it was poor but I think it would have been retaliation to something done to him. If it was then I excuse him in the heat of the moment. I prefer unsociable football to bruise free football too!

Exactly. Everything is awesome footy compared to unsociable footy.
Send him some choccies with the cards too. Quality Street are on special at BIG W.

heard the Bean was ordinary yesterday..does he deserve to come back in on that form?

I think Hodge's hit on Swallow and Lewis' hit on Goldstein were slightly unsportsmanlike.
But hey, North poo'd the bed and Hawthorn put them to the sword.
Go watch golf. Lots of good manners there.

x 2
But does he get the best learning/development in the 1's or 2's?
-
I actually thought Ellis C looked good in the 1st qtr. he just has good footy smarts
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
-
I think Corey moves like a young Cotch did. He is a smooth glider.
With experience he will be a star. :thumbsup

McBean in for Vickery
Dea in for Batch
George in for McIntosh (needs a rest)
That would make me happy.
-
Batch will be lucky - played his best game of the year to save his spot in the team .
-
Yeah I thought Batch played well too.
McIntosh does look a little tired but I still love his effort level and he looks a seriously high-potential player.
Don't know if I'd omit him - maybe give him a week as sub/sub him off? Bye not far away so he should be right IMO.
-

Going by Machine's VFL reports, our tall forwards had no chance with such poor delivery. In any case, McBean is the obvious replacement for TV. Griffs will need to do the 2nd ruck duties when Ivan is rested.
-
I'd play Hampson and stretch the Bombers if the weather is ok
-
That the end of the day does it really matter if Dea came in for Batch, or George comes in for Houli or McIntosh?
What we need to do is find out if these guys can play at the level consistently. We need 25 to 27 odd players at any one time that can come in and play a roll. Playing the same guys week in week out doesn't give us many options if injuries or poor form hits at the wrong time of the season.
Would our team play that much different if a couple of fringe players were replaced by a few others. We may even find we get a better result. But at least try Dimma.
Playing the two young guys the last couple of weeks and even McBean and Elton against Collingwood, has added something that was missing.
I just think if a couple of guys continually get in the best at reserve level they deserve a crack at showing what they can do at the top level. And Dea and George have done that.
I hardly think that Batch has been killing it to be an automatic selection either. The simple fact IMO is he isn't good enough if we want to be a top 4 side. He is a back up at best, a 25 to 27 player.
-
Newman in for (insert younger player who did reasonably ok)
-
Grimes pushed him because he punched Grimes in the face just a bit earlier.

If that was the case Grimes should have stomped him

RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Draftee Corey Ellis struggled in his third game, picking up just five disposals while Connor Medadue had just four kicks but one of them was a clutch goal in the final quarter. Kamdyn McIntosh butchered a few kicks but he was still running in the final minutes and should be safe. Of more concern is a knee injury to Ty Vickery who’s leg buckled under him as he laid a tackle in the second quarter. Scans will determine how long he’ll be sidelined.
ON THE CUSP: Not much to get excited about from the VFL after a 44-point loss to Casey. Liam McBean kicked one goal but might get the call-up to replace Vickery if Damien Hardwick wants to persist with a three-tall forward setup while Ben Lennon, Matt McDonough, Matt Dea and Nathan Gordon were named in the best. Reece Conca won’t be seen any time soon after hurting his hamstring again.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Two weeks ago obituaries were being written about the Tigers’ season, today they’re in the eight after an extremely disciplined performance sticking to a game plan to deny Port Adelaide any spare inch on Adelaide Oval. Credit for that should go to Damien Hardwick while Jack Riewoldt played a brilliant all-round game, kicking four goals and laying tackles deep in defence. This week is another eight-point game against ninth-placed Essendon, and another shot at redemption — Richmond was embarrassed in the Dreamtime at the G game last year. With a trip to Fremantle to follow, the Tigers need to keep winning to stay near the top of the mid-table pack.

Hardwick no doubt itching to rush back "vital cog" Newman that we've so greatly missed this past fortnight.
-
From the HUN stats
Pressure acts.
1. Morris 30
2. C. Ellis 22
3. Edwards 20.
-
Newy won't play. Still 1-2 weeks away according to the RFC website.
McBean sustained minor damage to his thumb in the VFL. He will face a fitness test later this week.

Young forward Liam McBean was sent straight back to the VFL after making his debut in round seven, but granted he passes a fitness test on his injured thumb, he appears certain to get another chance this week after Ty Vickery suffered a knee injury. McBean kicked one goal in the VFL at the weekend, but has strong enough recent form after booting a five-goal bag two weeks ago. Changes won't be extensive this week, but if young midfielder Corey Ellis is sent back to the VFL, Matt McDonough (17 possessions at the weekend) is pushing for selection. He had 30 possessions and three goals a fortnight ago. Ben Lennon, who last played in round five in his only game this season, is another option, or the Tigers could choose to elevate nippy half-back Jason Castagna.
