Title: Should we trade for picks or players?
Post by: mightytiges on September 05, 2005, 06:38:57 AM
Trade week is in a month's time. Should we trade for picks or go after a player(s)?

I'd guess guys like Polak, Salopek and Bartel will attract the greatest media interest if they want to leave their clubs. Wallace had also told Miller to go and find him a back pocket from somewhere. Personally I'd prefer the picks if they are decent ones although not sure what we'll get for someone like Tivs :-\.

If the cats wanted our pick 8 for jimmy bartel then I'd take it.

Somehow I think he will end up at Collingwood or Carlton though if he chooses the leave the Cats.

i have been infoemed that bartel and pies have a pretty much done deal, found this out 3 months ago , lets wait and c

about picks 4 players, it all depends on who the player is and what stage of his career he is at, each case must be judged on its merrits

We are in no position to acquire Bartel.

Every year a big name is linked to the Pies - Gehrig, Browny, Nick Stevens - but they always end up going elsewhere ;D.

Probably the smartest way to go about it. As long as we don't lose a first round pick I'll be happy.
