Potential outs?
Griffs - shoulder injury.
Maric - reported.
Fire away with your changes?
-
Assuming no suspension
Outs: NEWMAN :banghead, Griffiths (inj)
Ins: McDonough, Lennon
If suspensions add
Outs: Maric, Cotchin (both susp)
Ins: Hampson :-\, LLoyd
-
Newman probably saved the match for us with that game saving tackle on the wing in dying minutes that would have resulted in a certain goal. Make up what you like, thems the facts :shh

The facts are that tackle was the only, repeat ONLY thing he all day. Apart from that he was pathetic. Today proved again he isn't in our best 22
Kam McIntosh gave us more as the sub than Newman did for the entire game, thems the facts

since when is one act of acceptable football for the entire game the benchmark?
Stuff me, i could get a game and hold my spot if thats all that is required, and I'm 46.

Reckon if Dimma has forced changes he will keep changes to a minimum
Though i'd go as far as:
Out: Maric (sus), Griff (inj), Newman (omit), Gordon (omit)
In: Hampson, Mcbean, Lennon, Donut,

U mean the one where he was run down and all he could do in the end was fall on the ball and push it out to a team mate?
Yeh, that was amazing.
You know good footy!

The Barometer - Round 15

RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Ivan Maric was reported for elbowing Jack Steele in the face and the MRP might also look at a late spoil by Trent Cotchin. Ben Griffiths was subbed off with a shoulder injury. Kane Lambert was better but still touched the footy only eight times. Taylor Hunt is just doing enough to hold his spot and Kamdyn McIntosh might have a permanent gig as the sub after having an impact late for the second week running.
ON THE CUSP: With Griffiths in doubt Liam McBean timed his return to form perfectly, booting four goals in a low-scoring VFL win against North Ballarat. Ben Lennon had 25 touches, Matt Dea registered 23 and a nice long-range goal and Chris Knights did some nice things in his comeback from a severe hamstring injury. A Maric suspension could open the door for Shaun Hampson’s return from the footy wilderness against his old side.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: Good teams find a way to win when they aren’t playing well, and the Tigers did exactly that to come from 15 points down at three-quarter time against the Giants. Good teams also record comfortable stress-free wins against teams well below them on the ladder and Richmond needs one of those against the Blues on Friday night. This would be a good time to get a break in percentage on the Dogs and bridge some of the gap to Collingwood.

Mail was that Newy was injured and was close to be subbed out before half time
Might not come up this week ?
-
Big week for Vickery coming up. He will have to be number 1 ruckman.
So McBean will come in to play forward.
Chaplin to maybe play forward and Dea to take his roll down back.
Really thought Houli was poor on the weekend but being one of Dimma's favourates no way he will drop him. His tackling was below AFL standard by a long way.
We really need to get better at putting opposition sides under tackling pressure. Finals footy is completely different than H&A footy, pressure steps up and the game is a played a lot closer in. If we want to be able to compete we need yo tackle a lot better than we do and a hell of a lot more often.
We had better be ready for the Blues or they will pull our pants down.

Is Astbury a chance? He's fairly tall.

Vickery as inconsistent as he is....is still way ahead of Astbury

Astbury probably needs more time in the reserves to build up match fitness.

Ruckman Shaun Hampson is poised to step in to replace suspended big man Ivan Maric and play his first senior game since round 14 last season. Hampson was a late withdrawal in the VFL last Sunday when it became apparent he might be required this Friday night to cover Maric, who was on report.
The Tigers are also likely to call on young key forward Liam McBean (four goals in the VFL) to replace Ben Griffiths, who suffered a shoulder injury in round 14.
Others pushing for selection in the VFL are Ben Lennon, Matt Dea and Matt McDonough, who were among the Tigers best players in their win against North Ballarat at the weekend.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Griffiths' absence causes some headaches for the sixth-placed Tigers ahead of their clash with Carlton at the MCG on Friday night, with ruckman Ivan Maric (one-week suspension) also missing.
The Tigers are tossing up whether to bring Shaun Hampson in for his first game of the season or to have Ty Vickery ruck solo against the Blues pairing of Matthew Kreuzer and Cameron Wood.
Richmond veteran Chris Newman said he was unsure which way Damien Hardwick and his match committee were leaning, but backed Hampson to have an impact if selected.
"He's been playing some really good football in the VFL so he'll no doubt be putting his hand up," Newman said.

I like this. Except that I would consider dropping BOTH Newman and Lambert to add someone like McDonough or Dea.
Happy to keep playing lambert though. Needs a chance.

At night wet slippery conditions.
Yep we have been.
IMHO
:lol

"He's been playing some really good football in the VFL so he'll no doubt be putting his hand up," Newman said.
Hasn't he been injured for ~a month :lol
-
Hampson is in and will play tomorrow night according to Jon Ralph on SEN just now.

Hampson is in and will play tomorrow night according to Jon Ralph on SEN just now.
Well lets really hope he is given the chance to perform...BY THE SUPPORTERS.
Would like to see Newman out for Lennon as well and McBean for Griff.
-
Hope he dominates!!! Especially against this mob. Hampson that is.
I don't think Newman is going anywhere!! especially with the dive on the ball and then the tackle... Won't be dropped!!
I think Lambert needs to be given a chance, but he has had two weeks now and hasn't shown much, but hopefully this week he does.
I think he will start as sub and Big Mac will start on the ground.
Let's just hope we touch this mob up hey!!! If old Richmond show up we could all end up with tails in between our legs.... and it just happens to be that this mob are just about finding their best form for the year against US. Let's put them back in their place!!!!
-
Morris, McBean and Thomas trained in the main group today along with Hampson.
-
Rather just have Vickery, McBean & Elton rotate through the ruck.
-
Thomas would have to be rookie elevated wouldn't he?
-
Yes.
-
I'd rather Hanson than Newman.
-

Pauline or the band?
-
Thomas would have to be rookie elevated wouldn't he?
Upgraded confirmed.....playing tomorrow night and will bring hardness. Hope his disposal is at an all time high :pray
-
"The Tigers will also consider selecting one of young tall Liam McBean or defender David Astbury as a replacement in the forward line for injured Ben Griffiths"
if Astbury plays we deserve to get flogged....he is the hack of all hacks!!! simple
if he plays im putting 100 bucks on the blue scum to beat us...easy money
-
Astbury didn't train today but McBean did. He looked sharp and focussed on the track.
-
I'll be extremely annoyed if we play Thomas.
-
thanks Machine ...phhewww!
what ??now we have to worry about Thomas???
it never ends.....
