Scans tomorrow for Titch.
While Dimma said he was hoping it won't be a crack, he's demeanour in the post-match presser when asked about wasn't a confident one. I think he knows already, it's not good news :(.

"I'm just speculating at this stage, but we hope it's not [a crack]," coach Damien Hardwick said after the game.
"We're hoping it's not too nasty but he'll have further scans probably tomorrow.
"It's not looking dire at this stage … he's such an important player to us.
"We just cross our fingers with that one."

Happens to most teams, massive loss but this is where depth is tested and opportunities arise.
gotta be able to cover these things and on a positive better now than 6 weeks from now.
-
Oh dear, not what he or us needs, big out!!!
-

Exactly. Can't believe it hasn't been discussed too. I'm not happy. >:(
If Titch was wearing a Sydney jumper his opponent would have already been hung, drawn and quartered

Wow I missed that last night, did he get kicked on purpose? If so that's disgusting and as bad as a reportable offence for head high as the result is worse, time out wise.

:cheers
-
So what is it and how long.
-
Still waiting on MRI, X-ray came up clear.
-
Could be bone bruising maybe a week or two touch wood
-
:pray
-
Had something similar last year, copped a knee just under the head of the gastrocnemius (the bulging muscle in your calf) and could barely walk for two days. Was just a corky and a bit of bone bruising but was very sore yet I was still able to run out the next week pretty unhampered. Obviously these blokes are at a completely different level but he could be back next week (providing there is nothing more sinister going on).

Broken Fibula

Broken Fibula
Broken or fractured? Can't afford to lose Sheds....

There is no difference between the two. Fracture is just a medical term for break. You would imagine it is an undisplaced fracture but still will need to have a month off if this is the case.
-
the amount of people that will argue there is a difference is bewildering
-
I stand corrected.
Any word on the severity of the injury then? Is it a crack that will take 4 weeks or a clean break?
-
the amount of people that will argue there is a difference is bewildering
Maybe medically speaking there is no difference but not everyone knows the proper names for the different forms of fractures. I reckon being pedantic about the correct terms to the general public is just pointless as I'd argue everyone knows exactly what he meant by "fracture or broken"

If the general public are wrong, what's wrong with a little education????
-
i'm not talking about those that are ignorant, but those that will argue black and blue when you point out it is the same thing

Because not everyone cares ;D

Fair call. Never came across anyone like that but I'm sure it feels the same as arguing with Judge. Just a bunch of this :banghead :banghead :banghead

:lol
-
So he is broken correct :snidegrin
-
so is it broken or not?
-
??
-
so is it broken or not?
Yes although we haven't heard officially I think. However, the break is in the fibula which isn't weight bearing and is not deformed so it should heal well and quickly.
-
no-one knows anything till he receives the report ;D
-
how quickly do you think Doc?
-
So now we are arguing about whether to argue......
-
From twitter:
Titch - hairline fracture in fibula, not a break as such. Out for 2-3 weeks.
-
Nothing some Epirez wouldn't fix.

Thought a fracture was by definition some sort of break but not the holiday type :huh

You are kidding? Right?

Apparently it was an old injury he sustained while diving on the Titanic wreck, he was attacked by an octopus and the injury flared up last night.
Will only miss 1-44 weeks.

mmmmm.....grilled octopus

Nice work by the medico s getting the diagnosis right, he ll be cherry ripe in 3-4 :clapping

Edwards set for short stint on sidelines

Richmond midfielder Shane Edwards has escaped serious injury, but is expected to be unavailable for the Tigers’ next 2-3 matches.
Scans today confirmed a hairline fracture in his right fibula, which he sustained in the third quarter of Friday night’s win over Carlton at the MCG.
It was initially feared Edwards had a broken leg, which would have required an extended period of time out of the game.
He was subbed out after the incident, which occurred halfway through the third quarter, and he was on crutches after the match.
The 26-year-old has played in 12 games this season so far, and has averaged 21 disposals, four tackles and four clearances per match.

I like octopus

Well I suppose it gives a Lennon or McDonut the chance to step up for 3 weeks and show what they have got. Donut would be the likely choice to fill Edwards position.
-
A big loss but glad not out for long.
-
Hope they don't rush it, but a big loss. Lennon is the obvious replacement for mine. Wanna see him given another crack, he's class.
As for the debate on breaks and fractures. Any structural damage to bones are referred to as fractures and there are different types, Greenstick or Hairline or Total for eg differ in the degree of the damage.
-
Lennon
Donut
C Ellis
Menadue
We seems to have a number of classy kids in the two and plodders in the ones
:huh

Starting to think McDonut wont make it.Appears to me to lack a work ethic
-
He had a pretty solid game yesterday
-
To lose Titch at this stage of the season puts the onus on the 22 left.
Need to step up and cover, big time.
This will be a test.

Thanks for that but it doesn't answer 2 key questions:/
When is a break a fracture
Am I serious
-
When it's more than a fracture.
-
He had a pretty solid game yesterday
i thought he was pretty average, enlighten me a i though Lennon was way better, were Lenin and Stalin mortal enemies

Tough to keep your enthusiasm up when you keep having the favourites picked ahead of you.

wouldn't you think it would make you all the more determined to prove them all wrong.Like Miles did, even rance did all those years ago.Or even Nathan foley way back when

How would we know? Never appeared to be the issue in the fleeting opportunities he's been given so far.

Richmond announced last Saturday that Shane Edwards had suffered a hairline fracture in his right fibula in the win against Carlton and would miss two to three weeks.
But Larkins said Edwards could miss up to four weeks.
"The club is optimistic that Shane's fracture will heal quickly and won't require surgery, but the best-case scenario is probably a 3-4 match absence," he said.
