Must win game!
-
For those in SA or heading over there for the game, there will be an open training session on Thursday August 6, Adelaide Oval @ 4.30pm.
-
Should win this, but will we? Big test after last weeks high!
-
Richmond of a couple of seasons ago would without doubt lose this game. I am hopeful from what I have seen in the latter part of this season that the playing group has matured to a point that they are able to get up for these sorts of games even following big wins like we had against the Hawks. The issue more and more is that as we improve as a team the opposition are keener to knock off a high flyer so tend to lift more than when we tended to fly under the radar a bit. We are now regularly mentioned in the media regarding our premiership credentials so we have that added pressure of expectation which as we all know in the past has at times been too much for us to handle.
-
ADELAIDE midfielder Richard Douglas will not play against Richmond on Friday night after undergoing emergency surgery to remove his appendix.

8 point game.

Danger game.

I hope the RFC are going to push for a top 4 spot and make up for lost percentage and as such we should win by 5 goals+

Match preview: Crows v Tigers

August 4, 2015
SUMMARY
After last weekend's hammering at the hands of the Sydney Swans, the Crows simply must respond to stay in touch with the top eight. They're faced with arguably the toughest task in football at the minute – taking down the in-form Tigers. Richmond will be high on confidence after beating Hawthorn last Friday night and another big-stage win could push it up into the top four. After a few lean weeks in front of goal Jack Riewoldt will be itching to make an impact, although gun Crows defender Daniel Talia is a tough opponent to get past.
WHERE AND WHEN: Adelaide Oval, Friday August 7, 7.20pm ACST
LAST FIVE TIMES
R21, 2014, Richmond 10.19 (79) d Adelaide 9.15 (69) at Adelaide Oval
R12, 2013, Richmond 16.14 (110) d Adelaide 10.12 (72) at the MCG
R14, 2012, Adelaide 17.4 (106) d Richmond 13.9 (87) at AAMI Stadium
R23, 2011, Richmond 17.19 (121) d Adelaide 15.9 (99) at AAMI Stadium
R18, 2010, Richmond 15.10 (100) d Adelaide 11.14 (80) at the MCG
THE SIX POINTS
1. The Tigers' midfield was the difference between these sides the last time they met. Brandon Ellis had 31 possessions, Brett Deledio 29, Trent Cotchin 28 and 26 to Anthony Miles. Deledio also kicked two goals.
2. The Crows are ranked third after round 18 for marks inside 50, averaging 12.9 a game. Richmond isn't far behind, ranked equal seventh with 12.6 a game.
3. This will be the 33rd meeting between the sides and Adelaide maintains a clear advantage, winning 20 games to 12, but the Tigers have won four of the past five.
4. Adelaide is the No.1 centre clearance team in 2015, averaging 14.6 a game, while Richmond has struggled and is ranked 14th at 11.1 a game.
5. The Tigers' defence continues to impress, ranked fourth for fewest points conceded at 73.8 a game; they’ve allowed 100 points in a game only twice this season.
6. Tiger Alex Rance is the best key defender in the game according to the Official AFL Player Ratings and ranked No.52 overall. Adelaide's Daniel Talia is the best at West Lakes, but is miles behind Rance at No. 283 overall.
IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR …
Brett Deledio was awesome last week against the Hawks with four goals and 18 possessions. A repeat performance would just about see the Tigers home.
PREDICTION: Richmond by 28 points
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-08-04/match-preview-crows-v-tigers
-
He was awesome
-
Danger game.
Agree.
-
This is our biggest test that I can think of really in the last 20 years.
The players were lauded for their best performance under Harwich as senior coach.
All week they have been talked up as a premiership contender and the pressure is on to back up the win.
The spotlight is also on again as its Friday night lights.
I am slightly more confident though as they are playing away from melbourne and using our away strip.
Just ever so slightly......... I'm keep the lid well and truly on
-
Far from being satisfied after our big win and being talked up all week, the Tigers should still be in a very angry mood (as indeed I am) after seeing first Sydney, then the Bulldogs undo all our gained ground and push us back to sixth.
Adelaide were deplorable last week when we most needed them to knock off the Swans. If we play with the intensity that we can and should bring they will be no match for us.
-
As has been mentioned I think this week is a great test to measure the emotional maturity levels of the team after the high of last week. Come out and backup last weeks performance with another win and that for me will be the final stamp on us being a legitimate threat this season
-
Huge game. Should win but won't be an easy trip, that's for sure

Stats that matter: Rd 19

August 5, 2015
Adelaide and Richmond have met 32 times. The Crows hold the overall advantage 20-12.
The Tigers have won four of the past five clashes between the two sides including the most recent match at Adelaide Oval in Round 21 last season when Richmond prevailed by 10 points in a low-scoring affair.
On that night, 50,459 fans turned out – a record crowd for a game involving the Crows and Tigers. It remains the highest home attendance for an Adelaide game outside of Showdowns.
This week’s clash will be Adelaide’s one and only Friday night fixture of the home and away season.
The AFL will celebrate Multicultural Round this weekend. A citizenship ceremony will take place prior to the match between the Crows and Tigers, and also the GWS Giants and Essendon clash. The Sherrin official AFL match ball will be translated into Arabic, Hindi or Mandarin and will feature at all nine matches. The AFL field umpire shirts will feature the word umpire translated into one of the seven most spoken languages in Australia, other than English, as part of the celebrations.
The Tigers are one of the form teams of the competition, having won five of their past six games. They sit in sixth spot on the AFL ladder with 11 wins and six losses. Adelaide’s loss to Sydney last weekend saw the Club slip to ninth spot percentage behind the eighth-placed Geelong.
The Tigers have travelled well this season, recording wins at the GABBA, SCG, Domain Stadium and Adelaide Oval against the Power.
Crows defender Luke Brown will play his 50th straight game against Richmond on Friday night. Brown’s streak of consecutive matches started in Round 12, 2013.
Brown has conceded an average of only 0.8 goals to his direct opponents per game this season.
The Tigers retain possession of the ball by hitting-up short targets by foot. Richmond plays on from the mark just 27.6 per cent of the time – the second least in the AFL.
The Tigers rank fifth for short kicks (81.7) per game and have the third-highest kick-to-handball ratio (1.37) of any team. They also sit sixth in uncontested marks (81.9).
However, Richmond is also good inside the contest, winning 38 per cent of its ball in contested situations – ranked seventh in the League.
Brandon Ellis and Dustin Martin are keys to Richmond’s game style. Ellis (457) and Martin (455) both rank top-15 in the AFL for total disposals.
The Tigers like to get the ball in the hands of the neat-kicking Ellis, who ranks No.2 for uncontested possessions (330) and has also taken 108 uncontested marks – ranked fifth overall. Martin is also a prime mover, ranked second in the League for kicks (298) and sixth for handball receives (224).
Adelaide’s biggest score against Richmond was 29.11 (185) at Football Park in Round 17, 1997.
The Crows have scored more points than the Tigers this season, but Richmond has been stronger defensively. The Tigers are ranked 11th in points for, but have conceded 1,255 points – ranked behind only top-four teams Fremantle, West Coast and Hawthorn. The Crows are sixth in points for 1,511 but have conceded 1,478 points to be in the bottom seven defensively.
Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt is fourth in the Coleman Medal race with 43 goals – one more than Crow Eddie Betts, who has kicked 42 despite having played one fewer game than the other top 10 goalkickers in the League.
Riewoldt has been involved in 30 per cent of all his team’s scores – more than any other Tiger.
Riewoldt and Crows captain Taylor Walker are both strong on the lead. Walker has taken the second-most marks on a lead (46) of any player in the competition – one more than Riewoldt (45).
Tony Modra holds the record for most Crows goals in a game against Richmond. Modra booted 13.4 at Football Park in Round 16, 1993.
Riewoldt and Ellis are ranked equal-13th for marks (113) one more than Crow Tom Lynch (112).
Bachar Houli is a playmaker across Richmond’s half-back line. Houli is No.1 in the AFL for long kicks (97) and fifth for effective kicks (186). He’s also second for rebound 50ms (91).
Crow Scott Thompson has averaged 31 possessions and a goal in his past three games against Richmond. Thompson is also averaging 6.2 tackles per game to be equal-11th in the League.
All Australian defender Alex Rance turns his strong defence into attack. Rance is equal-second in the League for intercept possessions (gains) with 126. Rory Laird leads the way for Adelaide with 114.
The Tigers average 59 tackles per game – ranked 17th in the competition.

Adelaide won’t be intimidated by Tigers’ bully-boy tactics, says Daniel Talia.

Probably the first time we've been called "bully-boys" by the opposition since the mid-70s.

A few journo are expecting us to have a downer tonight. Robbo has us as flag contenders but he's tipping Adelaide tonight :huh3. Tadhg Kennelly is another tipping the Crows after tipping us last week to beat Hawthorn.
-----------------------------------------------------------
FOLLOWING two impressive performances against Fremantle and Hawthorn in consecutive weeks, Richmond has established itself as a genuine premiership contender.
That is the opinion of Fox Footy’s Mark Robinson in a special edition of AFL 360 Extra: Friday From All Angles.
Richmond is still one game outside the top four going into a Round 19 clash with Adelaide, but can reaffirm its intentions for the season with another morale-boosting win.
“As we sit here right now on a Friday, the answer is yes,” Robinson said when asked if the Tigers could challenge for a flag.
“Ask me again at about 11 o’clock on Friday night if they lose.
“I picked Adelaide to beat Richmond. I think Richmond are the better team, but I know now more than at any other time in my life that football is mental.
“The Crows were up and they had a really deflating game last week on the road, but coming home they’ll want to get back.
“Richmond has been up for two weeks against two of the best teams in the competition. There will be a challenge of staying at that level.
“They’re only human beings. It will be difficult to stay at that energy level. But I already think they’re genuine (contenders). They’ve shown they can beat the best two teams.”

Very nervous now about tonight with Lids out on top of Titch missing :-\. It's going to put the onus on others to break the lines and kick ground-level and running goals. We need our midfield to back up last week's effort. The Crows' main threat is their forward line. If they get good supply then they win; if we can starve them like we did to Hawthorn's forwards then we win (provided we take our chances and kick straight, of course).
-
Lambert long and Vickery takes a strong marks. Kick is smothered by a clean gather by Conca off to Dusty who finds Ivan. Goal :gotigers
Rich 6
Adel 0
-
How is that advantage, you muppet?
-
Crouch report?
-
Adelaide seem very focused on going man on man
-
Flossy bursts through and Ivan takes a good mark. Finds Grigg who gets it to Newy. A hanging kick but Macca takes it 35m out. Misses.
7 - 1
-
Big Ivan looks in good touch early.
Clunked a couple of good marks
Point to McIntosh
-
Idiotic by Vickery
Behind the play gives a way cheap one with a cheap shot
It was soft but still stupid
-
Lennon marks but then the ump reverses it about 10 secs later ::).
-
Dumb TV.
-
Disgrace. What a cracker mark for the kid.
-
Crow player tackled and just drops the ball straight down = no free ::).
-
Poor option by Rance
-
What was that Rance? :huh. Lucky they miss,
7 - 2
-
Vickery just doesn't learn. Stupid poo from dusty cost us a game, I hope that doesn't.
-
That was a great strong grab by Lennon
Rance!!!!! :banghead
-
Adelaide are doing a lot of holding around stoppages and our guys are picking up the ball while pinned, hope we don't start getting called.
-
Bruce reckons Newy's been good :chuck
Clearly he hasn't been paying attention
-
Goal to Grigg
13-4
-
We over committed to the ball carrier then, only needed one to peel off and guard the overlap.
-
Bruce reckons Newy's been good :chuck
Clearly he hasn't been paying attention
Both of them been hanging out at the same retirement home :shh
-
Bruce reckons Newy's been good :chuck
Clearly he hasn't been paying attention
WPs most maligned footballer since Jayden Post.
-
Terrible by Houli
Cameron goals for the Crows
13-10

Bruce reckons Newy's been good :chuck
Clearly he hasn't been paying attention
WPs most maligned footballer since Jayden Post.
No, been on about Newman for a long time pre Post
-
Squib
-
Houli stuffed up spoiling Grimes. Gifted the Crows a goal.
We're handballing too much :banghead. Need to footpass and control possession with marks.
Jacobs throw not paid ::)
-
Great F50 tackle Dusty. Ellis goal :gotigers
Rich 19
Adel 10
-
Brilliant by Dusty
Ump class advantage ago an that wasn't
But Ellis goals
19-10
-
Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaah
-
Vickery crap
Brandon good
Dusty good
-
Grimes looks like he's got a hammy :(. Gone down into the rooms.
-
Grimes down to the rooms
Possible hmmy issue
Oops
-
Grimes? :pray
-
Houli has the Errol Flynns tonight.
-
Houli is weak as bloody pee
-
Another one to the Crows
Who is on Lynch
19-17
-
The Crows have had 20 inside 50s in one qtr. Thanks to our poor kicks out of defence :banghead. Another gift :banghead.
-
8 shots to 4 Wot the hell?
-
Pathetic out of the middle then = no pressure
Awful, should have bottled it up
Lucky Eddie missed
Not sure Cotchin -v - Dangerfield head to head is the right option for us right now
Need to shut Danger down
-
How could we not be aware there was less than a minute to go :banghead. Play the percentages Tiges FFS! That was rubbish :banghead.
1/4 time
Richmond 3.1-19
Adelaide 2.6-18
Goals: Maric, Ellis, Grigg.
-
Houli can get stuffed. What the hell is wrong with him
-
Houli appears to be off with the fairies tonight
-
Well Batch is showing his true worth. Absolute poo.
-
No Lids, possibly no Grimes and Lloyd as sub, reckon a win tonight would almost be as good as the win against the Hawks last week. We just can't get the ball out from defensive 50. Could and probably should be a few goals down here and if they do continue the dominance with inside 50's then we could be in big trouble by half time.
-
Well Batch is showing his true worth. Absolute poo.
Steady on sunshine
-
We're getting smashed in general play. Not too much brains and teamout out there so far. We're going too slow when we need to go quick with options on to break out of their press and when we go quick we're relying on handball too much which is putting the receiver under pressure.
Grimes has his knee strapped but no guarantee he'll play. So it isn't a hammy.
-
Grimes with his knee strapped
Not his hammy
-
not looking good
-
Some brainless footy out there :banghead.
-
No Lids, no tigers it seems. Which is quite concerning really.
-
Add soft lazy efforts too from our forwards.
-
poo
-
Crows are working harder. Getting more players to the contest.
-
Is it just me or does Rance look a bit off, just doesn't seem as sharp as he has been
-
Shocking Tigers :facepalm. Basics to have players goal side of a D50 stoppage :banghead
-
Is it just me or does Rance look a bit off, just doesn't seem as sharp as he has been
Most of them are mentally off :help.
-
Officially we are in trouble.
-
Finally Vickery takes a strong mark. Pops it up and Jack pulls a miracle goal out of nowhere :gotigers.
Sheesh we needed that.
Rich 25
Adel 31
-
Vickery marks again. Pops it up again. Cotch goes for the speccie. grigg at ground level can only rush a point.
26 - 31
-
So you can push in the back now ::).
-
Lynch ducked into lambert and never even disposed of it.
-
So you can push in the back now ::).
That too.
-
So you can push in the back now ::).
yes unless you want to boo Betts your being racist :whistle
-
Where are our mids running forward?
-
Walkers second mark out of bounds :clapping
-
Rance is getting pantsed.
-
Lennon nearly cocked that up badly.
-
Did our best to stuff that up :facepalm but Dusty finally puts it through :gotigers.
Scores level.
Rich 32
Adel 32
-
Lennon looks good
But sometimes son you need to be selfish
And Hampson back to offering nothing around the ground
-
No lids no richmond. :banghead
-
Again poor at the stoppage with 40 odds seconds to go
Bloody Newman :banghead :banghead
Pathetic tigers
Walker goals
38-32 crows in front
-
Bloody moronic crap tonight :banghead, Stupidly unaware it's less than minute to go again and this time it costs us a goal after the siren :banghead.
1/2 time
Richmond 3.1 5.2-32
Adelaide 2.6 5.8-38
Goals: Riewoldt, Maric, Grigg, Ellis, Martin.
-
A few times we could have been daring and moved it on quick but we kept stopping the movement and letting Adelaide get numbers behind.
Adelaide tackle numbers are apparently right up so will be interesting if they manage to keep it up all game. As long as we stick with them we should be able to get across the line when they tucker out.
-
Ridonculous
-
We aren't coping with them shutting us down via man on man
And they look quick and we look slow
-
Tigers have to reverse this dominance because if it continues the floodgates will open
-
You hope we'll lift but this reminds me of the wce game, we just look off, no intensity or desperation.
-
Crows have missed some sitters but we've made up for that in giving them 4 gifts
-
Adelaide winning all the crucial one on ones and also getting out the back too easily from spilled marks.
-
the man on man can be dealt with if we ran the ball
-
the man on man can be dealt with if we ran the ball
Agree but we are programmed not to do that
-
WP they better un program this at half time otherwise we are done for tonight

No surprise, we're down in every key stat :P.
Total disp: 177 - 181 .... ( contested: 69 - 75
Clearances: 15 - 20 .... ( centre: 2 - 7 )
Inside 50s: 17 - 36 :help
Tackles: 26 - 42
Hitouts: 16 - 23
Frees: 10 - 10
-
WP they better un program this at half time otherwise we are done for tonight
Yep most probably
But more than that we need to be smarter around the stoppages.
We gifted them goals at the end of each quarter by not controlling the stoppage, bottling up and forwarding another stoppage
-
the man on man can be dealt with if we ran the ball
Good sides should be able to handle man on man football.
-
The Crows won the hitout (10-6), hitout-to-advantage (5-1) and clearance (11-4) counts that quarter, and booted two goals to none from stoppages.
Sam Jacobs won all five hitouts-to-advantage for the Crows and Scott Thompson won a quarter-high four clearances with both players launching a goal from stoppages.
Lucky to be just a goal down with Adelaide's total dominance in the middle.
Only winner tonight is Dusty.
Dustin Martin has a game-high five score involvements, including two goal assists and a goal, and he has gained 231 metres, the fourth most of all players.
http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2015/19/adel-v-rich

Moving the ball quickly will also cause some panic and can disrupt their structure. Need to force some of their players to play zone rather than man. They will have instruction to play man so everything is 50/50 but they have plenty of weak links we could exploit if we just poke and prod a bit.
-
I also think they are far more physical than us
-

We should be able to take advantage of the man on man
Not fast or askilful enough
-
Grimes subbed out
That's huge
Batchelor now on Betts
-
With all the media going on about how we bully teams it was obvious how Adelaide would approach the game. Almost reverse psychology by the media to ensure we failed this week.
-
:banghead :banghead
-
Grigg fell for the same trick as Houli did against Freo. Defenders waiting for the sucker kick.
-
Can we be first to the ball just once???!!!!
FFS! Every loose ball these is 2 or 3 crows
-
:banghead :banghead
Same here WP. Same here.
-
Not suprised but also dissapointed tbh
It's not a game that I thought we'd be a walk up win, but still professional to slowly grind them away.
Fir up ffs :gotigers
-
Only a matter of time till they blow the game apart.
Why not stick grigg on dangerfield?? It's not that hard is it
-
Stupid by Lloyd
-
Why not stick grigg on dangerfield?? It's not that hard is it
Exactly
-
Cause griggisbshyte
-
Yes but his been serviceable this year and to not have anyone on him is gifting them a clear advantage and the game if we aren't careful
-
:facepalm.
Half asleep out there tonight.
-
Rance having a shocker
-
Can we play any worse?
Are they sick?
-
Rance on the bongs
-
Why wasn't that a free or Jack for holding?
-
Lloyd :banghead
-
We're just rushing things now. No composure whatsoever.
-
The plot appears to have been lost
-
Why wasn't that a free or Jack for holding?
Crows getting the rub of the green tonight
-
Why with that much space wouldn't you run it inside 50 and have a shot if need be? :banghead
Dusty free anyway. Goal :gotigers
Don't know how we are still in this.
Rich 38
Adel 44
-
Great example why you cant play Hampson and Maric in the same team. Hampson is sooooo poor!
-
stuff Newman is slow and poo
-
How far did that bloke want to run off half back.
-
Lennon pushed off the ball too easily at HF. Crows run it down to get it back straight away :banghead.
-
Hunt had his arm held by Betts and no free ::).
-
Betts has been holding and encroaching marks all night.
-
Great example why you cant play Hampson and Maric in the same team. Hampson is sooooo poor!
Yep
Outside his tap work has offered nothing tonight
-
Umps wearing red, yellow and blue tonight ::)
-
stuff me if that umpire didn't chaplain taken out the blind sonofa bitch
-
Why wasn't that a free to Chaplin
That could be the game right there
Thanks umpire
-
Wow ump. Just because it is multicultural round doesn't mean they can get away with anything.
-
Think we are in massive trouble
-
Chaplin knocked over by a guy weighs 60kgs
Stay on the group u fat girl
-
Great example why you cant play Hampson and Maric in the same team. Hampson is sooooo poor!
Yep
Outside his tap work has offered nothing tonight
Grimes going off injured has really hurt us. We can't sub Hampson off.
-
This is embarrassment.
-
That was a deplorable decision that has broken the game open for them
stuff me have we won a centre clearance?
-
Chaplin knocked over by a guy weighs 60kgs
Stay on the group u fat girl
You are kidding
Do you not realise he should have got a free
Oh that's right you hate him so this his fault right?
-
have we been paid a tackle tonight?
-
Game over
-
think we are stuffed now
-
Have we even touched the ball at our F50 stoppages? Crows continually sweeping it out of our F50 with ease :banghead.
Another goal to them. Game over.
-
Danger goals
Reckon we are done
Been a horrible effort tonight
Too many blokes gone missing tonight
-
DO SOMETHING! :banghead :banghead :banghead
-
Oh look....... we didn't come to play
-
We do it again
Another Crows shot on the siren
:banghead
-
The game was gone long before that. Selection table is where it started.
-
3 straight shots after the siren to them.
3/4 time
Richmond 3.1 5.2 6.2-38
Adelaide 2.6 5.8 8.16-64
Goals: Martin 2, Riewoldt, Grigg, Maric, Ellis.
Just a pathetic, soft effort tonight.
-
Danger goals
Reckon we are done
Been a horrible effort tonight
Too many blokes gone missing tonight
WTF are the umps doing, very pro adelaide
-
sok, good ol fashioned reality check, keep us real, don't want us getting too happy or anything lol
Adelaide are tearing us a fresh one without needing help from the umpies which makes it that much more annoying when they screw us over...

we talk about playing unsociable football, well the crows have actually done it
-
And people thought we were a chance at top 4
We aren't even guaranteed finals yet
That's what makes tonight's "effort" so gut wrenching
-
Great example why you cant play Hampson and Maric in the same team. Hampson is sooooo poor!
Yep
Outside his tap work has offered nothing tonight
Not even getting taps tonight. Looks like his old self :thumbsdown
-
we talk about playing unsociable football, well the crows have actually done it
Pack of nobodies, too
-
Yep pieces of crap
I knew they couldn't deal with a follow up performance
oh look......
-
Oh look....... we didn't come to play
We haven't.
Hampson and Lloyd should never play seniors ever again.
-
The game was gone long before that. Selection table is where it started.
Agree
This is scary Angus, I've agreed with you a lot this evening :thumbsup
-

Yes bringing in The Hamspud for another game when everyone knows he's got only 1 good Game a year. Even his Mrs knows he's only up 1 time a year.

This is what happens when you take injured players into the game :banghead
-
have we been paid a tackle tonight?
They're holding every stoppage and every contest as well but we only got the one on dusty because it was just way too obvious.
Next time we have a kick in the back line watch Betts. He stands closer to the kicker than the man on the mark. A few times when the ump told him to bugger off and the guy on the mark left instead and left Betts there 3 meters closer to the kicker.

Can't we kick 50m tonight?
-
Lol even when we win taps it goes down their throats. All good and well to take two ruckmen to try and win this area but what good is it if there is no plan?
-
Thank god for Dusty
-
We wait until we're over 4 goals down in the last to play play-on footy ::).
Dusty goal.
Rich 44
Adel 64
-
Two rucks is dumb
Crap plus crap = crap
Missing the extra run
-
Ling just pointed out what I've been saying
Lose tonight and we aren't even a lock for finals
Throw on the loss of % as well :banghead
-
Without knowing Grimes would go down we really made a blunder focusing on trying to win the hitouts and bringing in Hampson. Now we are essentially a runner short and toward the end of the game its really going to kill us. Having said this i think across the board we have been really up the last two weeks and obviously we couldn't maintain that same standard tonight and we have been punished. Hopefully we get some troops back next week and start our next run of wins.
-
Rance is stoner great
-
6 pts clear of 9th with north pies to come.
-
Rance's worst game in about 4 years.
-
Wonder how much money the umpire are taking on this game for Adelaide. Surely corupt umpires in this game
-
Over-handballing again causes a defensive turnover :banghead.
-
Rance's worst game in about 4 years.
Hasn't had the best night but when the ball comes inside 50 as often as it has tonight even the greatest defender of all time is going to struggle.
-
No problem with the run carry
But gee you got make good decisions
And that wasn't the option Bachar
Rance has lost it
-
Wow stuff off.
-
Paid deliberate ::). Umps on Adelaide tonight.
-
So what are the stats now in terms of games lost when Lids doesn't play?
-
It's funny Newman's been good since going back in defence
-
So what are the stats now in terms of games lost when Lids doesn't play?
Will now be 9 games and we've lost 7
-
so the umpire pays a rubbish free for deliberate and puts it back into their fifty and seals the game, nice work.
-
If it wasn't game over, it is now.
-
Just need to minimise the damage in terms of %, cant afford the floodgates to be opened.
-
McIntosh needs to go back to the ressies. Turnover king :banghead
-
we have been embarrassing tonight
-
Forget the plot beng lost
The Tigers are lost and I'm not just talking about the result
-
Lennon has been good though
-
If it wasn't game over, it is now.
It was over last week when the boys started reading all the press.
Bigheadedness. :banghead
-
Jacobs could be playing by himself and we'd still be losing. It doesn't even look like we've attempted to just read his tapwork.
-
stuff we got a free!
and Vickery got a Mark!!!
-
watch the umpires pay a flood of frees to us late in the game
-
If it wasn't game over, it is now.

Bigheadedness. :banghead
Still shows a lack or maturity, it will come but not just yet, worrying heading hopefully into finals.
-
TV goal. All too late.

-
Gee we've missed Lids
And that's the biggest worry to be honest
Shows our lack of depth
-
Finally Eddie has been pinged. Just a bit late though.
-
Was that Jack I just saw?
He is out there
-
Um does the ump have this one the wrong way around?
-
Gee we've missed Lids
And that's the biggest worry to be honest
Shows our lack of depth
Lids out Lloyd in, not same for same and yes its due to lack of depth, maybe McBean in for Hampson may have given us a little more mobility and options up forward.
-
That was play on. Walker collided with Chaplin ::).
-
stuff me that umpire.....tell me that decision was not a load of poo
-
Um does the ump have this one the wrong way around?
No just ask Bents he'll tell it's all Chaplin's fault
Seriously
-
30 shots to 10, should have been an absolute flogging if the Crows had kicked straight.
-
I had Me eyes on the ball tho
No, you did not chappy you crapz lying girl
-
That was play on. Walker collided with Chaplin ::).
But where would the theatre in that be? Need the crowd into it for the TV ratings.
-
we are probably blown after playing Freo and Hawks
-
Um does the ump have this one the wrong way around?
No just ask Bents he'll tell it's all Chaplin's fault
Seriously
Lies, cheats and is rubbish
Triple threat
-
Cometti is right. We haven't anything to counter Jacobs. Took until 5 mins to go in the last and the game gone to try 3rd man up.
-
we are probably blown after playing Freo and Hawks
Had we beaten Freo this would just be considered a blip on the radar, however that loss is now coming back to haunt us and subject to the next handful of games could be the difference to us making the 8.
-
we are probably blown after playing Freo and Hawks
We had 6-day breaks going into both the Freo and the Hawks. 7-day break tonight and we've be totally slow and listless.
-
Um does the ump have this one the wrong way around?
No just ask Bents he'll tell it's all Chaplin's fault
Seriously
You encourage the peanut by replying.

We will make the 8 but we were pathetic tonight. Talk about believing your own press
-

Yep
And people wonder why I am never confident week after week
Just never know which Rich one is going to turn up
The lazy and lethargic Richmond turned up and have been deplorable
The result tonight shows it
-
l would be taking all my top players off the ground now
-
l would be taking all my top players off the ground now
Vickery, jack, Houli, batch, Newman?
-
It's funny Newman's been good since going back in defence
Newman is a passenger the rezt of the team is carryinf, constantly stops play by indecision
-
This is now putting a fair dent in our % too.
-
Inside 50s: 37 - 74 :help
Bottom 4 stuff.
-
again the panic merchants Houli,Hunt,Ellis have let us down
-
we got pole axed on clearances, if we can't change that we are gonna remain 'also rans' in finals
-
Lennon is the only small positive to what has been the worst game of the year. I hope you all can see why Hampson should only play when Maric is injured......spud!
Mids not sighted tonight, completely destroyed :banghead
Lloyd surly has played his last game and the momentum killer Newman :banghead
:thumbsdown
-
It's funny Newman's been good since going back in defence
Newman is a passenger the rezt of the team is carryinf, constantly stops play by indecision
I am not a fan. Think he should have dropped weeks ago for the reason you mentioned
But facts are tonight after he was sent back he was better. Not great but better
Another indictment on our depth
-
Final Score
Richmond 3.1 5.2 6.2 8.4-52
Adelaide 2.6 5.8 8.16 11.22-88
Goals: Martin 3, Riewoldt, Vickery, Grigg, Ellis, Maric.
The lowest number of scoring shots ever under Dimma in his six years as coach.
-
again the panic merchants Houli,Hunt,Ellis have let us down
Houli yes but Hunt was ok under the circumstances. Ellis was Ellis tonight
-
Here here WP. I do laugh when some start talking top 4.
Last week was great but as we know a loss like this is just around the corner.
-

Agree about Hunt
As for Ellis - did he play tonight?
-
Really poor performance. Saw many lazy players out there
-
Here here WP. I do laugh when some start talking top 4.
Last week was great but as we know a loss like this is just around the corner.
While we continue rely on the likes of Cotchin, Deledio, Rance, Maetin & Jack to constantly drag us over the line it shows the depth isn't there
And when those blokes don't play well then we are completely stuffed
Our mid tier players were nowhere to be seen tonight which makes it worth
-
Agree about Hunt
As for Ellis - did he play tonight?
No along with 18 others. Lennon, Hunt, Vlastuin and Chaplin the only players who gave a yelp.
-
Wonder how much money the umpire are taking on this game for Adelaide. Surely corupt umpires in this game
I thought it was just me, bloody hell Milesy looks at the ball and gets his head knocked off and gets a free kick against him. They really target him, he really is a warrior
-
Chimp was solid
Miles tried to lift at times got no help
Vlastuin solid as always for mine
Rance did some good things but looked stoned
Martin , mcintosh and Lennon good
-

I have a personal theory that when you see teams embroiled before game in games of cat and mouse about whether certain players will play or not, they have taken their eyes off the prize and the game is already decided,
I also think Richo summed it up well..your backline can be great but you need to kick goals to win matches
-
Yeah dimwit tell us why you left danger unmarked
Fukwit
-
I also think Richo summed it up well..your backline can be great but you need to kick goals to win matches
Yep and we are probably 4 or 5 goals worse off without Sheds and Lids.
-
Oh well l'm not going to analize that performance. Just put it down as a bad lose.Bring on next week. Umpires are corupt l know that cause some of them decisions were absolute blight on the game. Its time umpires got suspended for shocking decisions :thumbsdown
l will say that our forwards aint got a hope in hell if you got players like Hunt, McIntosh, Vickery, & a few others blazing the ball into no-one.
-
Yeah dimwit tell us why you left danger unmarked
stuffwit
His plan b was to put grigg on him
Wonderful
-
Rance played like he was missing his brain. Some awful errors! Seriously hope this is the game where we get slapped in the face and wake up. Suns game will be very important next week - can't afford to fall into having dickfingers again.

Just disgraceful.

I don't disagree there WAT
I think as i said a couple of days ago this would be the biggest test for us in twenty years. Following up our best win in as many years and for a number of reasons we failed.
What frustrates me is 6 years in we still are too inconsistent among many other things.
The bottom line is this, they should be going out there hungry to win EVERY game. The coach should be looking to improve the team EVERY week. Regardless of performance week before

Grigg on SEN now saying that the Crows were magnificent and we were poor (der), Lids was missed and we need to make big improvements in a lot of areas. Dermy saying we don't release the ball at the first opportunity which we do a lot and Grigg sorted said they need to look at it first. I agree with Dermy, we do it every game. Grigg says again the Crows were fantastic and we couldn't match the pressure. 33 contested possessions better were the Crows.
Midfield was on top of ours....bla bla bla.....allowed the Crows to get back quicker and they made the ground very small for us. We took too long to get the ball moved, particularly wing to wing.
Outworked on the night. Plenty of improvement left apparently, they know that...
-
Lol grigg
-
Lloyd on 3aw said he was concerned two minutes into last night's game that Dimma was trying to be "too cute" with his match-ups/set-ups.
-
Hardwick obviously reading his own press....thinks he's coaching mastermind now because "outsmarted" Clarkson, the coach he learnt from and knows backwards.
-
I was pretty dissapointed with how we played but as I said I half expected it so I moved on quickly.
What really dissapointed me is the results around us would have worked in our favor.
I don't think this club will ever learn :-\

Angus, Angus...
Calling me liar?
But to make it easier for you to understand
When the comp includes bonuses for picking 9 out of 9 or back further 8 out of 8 then one accumulates some nice $$$

Why?
Don't mean to single you out as such but you are a big critic of our captain when he misses goals. So what is your opinion of Taylor Walker kicking 2.5 when kicking goals his his main job, let alone him being a captain
-
The disappointing aspect of the game was the attitude of the senior players. I always remember Steve Waughs ruthless attitude to winning - even dead test matches because of the memory of all those losses in the 80s. He had developed a deep seated hatred of losing which permeated the dressing room and created an uncompromising hunger to win everything.
You don't need talent, it takes desire and I thought that was lacking last Fri night.
-

Thought he nailed the most crucial goal of the night after the half time siren. Game changer right there I reckon.
But overall his goal kicking for a KPP was forward was terrible; deplorable actually & made worse by the fact he is their captain. Not sold if him as a captain either
And fortunately for him they won. Think he would have been whacked (rightly) for his misses if they lost
He took Rance to the cleaners. So IMHO that sent a strong message to the team on the night.
I thought he was very good but his easy misses kept us in the game at times.
So because of that I thought on the night he was very good rather great
-

Rance just wasn't there last Friday night. I wonder if he was one of the guys with the viral illness that apparently went through a few at the club? :-\
