we are different as we had to rebuild in the expansion era, i think going fwd most Clubs will look at St Kilda's model as they have started after the compromised Drafts were over.

the other side of the coin is - now carlton have to rebuild, pretty much from scratch

with GWS / GC / (Richmond?  :pray ) expected to dominate for next 10 years

FJ s crew have put together a blueprint that others will follow , amid the compromised draft, FJ has produced arguably the most talented list in the comp that have rivals still shaking their heads, like stuffen whoa, how did you guys do it  :shh

Its funny but higher draft picks in the compromised drafts could be almost an advantage, when you consider that so much talent wasn't diluted properly. Richmond treated their number one picks carefully, looking after every need and focusing all their development on guys like Ellis, whilst the expansion clubs, being so full of the high picks can't possibly give all their high picks the same treatment. Ben Lennon strikes me as an excellent example of this. He's coming good now, but would he have survived at a club like GWS or GC?

If Stalin actually cared to post the link. You would find that Steven Trigg was referring to the way Benny Gale had set ambitious goals and targets for the club to achieve.
Whilst they did discuss draft picks it really was not focus of the discussion.
