Future picks
For the first time in 2015, clubs may trade future draft selections.
Clubs must:
• Only trade selections from the following year's draft
• Make at least two first-round selections in each four-year period. If they don't, they will face restrictions from trading any further first-round draft picks
If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selections from the same draft. However if a club retains its future first-round selection, it can trade multiple future selections from other rounds.

What are 'hidden' AFL draft picks?
Emma Quayle
The Age
November 21, 2015 - 4:27PM
The AFL has added another new element to this year's draft - "hidden" picks.
The final draft order released by the league after Friday's list lodgement cut each club off according to how many available lists spots they have.
Those with four available spots, for instance, were assigned four picks before being removed from the order.
This means that many of the late picks some of the northern clubs traded down to acquire - gathering extra draft "points" to help them match bids for academy players - are not listed on the order.
Brisbane, for example, is not listed as having its sixth selection - pick 42 - as the Lions only have five open spots on their list.
The same obviously applies to Sydney and GWS' late picks.
However, Brisbane's "hidden" pick 42 is actually noted between picks 41 and 42 on the complete order.
"Hidden" picks will "open up" (and be assigned the appropriate points value) as they equate to list numbers.
For instance, should the Lions use their second and third selections to match a bid for Eric Hipwood or Ben Keays, their pick 42 will be activated.
Here is how the final order looks, with the hidden picks in italics.
Only the northern clubs are expected to have to use their hidden picks, given they will need to access multiple picks in order to match bids for some of their players.
