Our 3rd pick should be used on Kelleher. Although he may be a bit to short to play key defence at AFL level he still sounds like a good investment, plus premiership player Leo Barry from Sydney can play key defence and he is only 185cm. Of the other 3 possible options i read in The Age about Michael West who is a tall foward who kicked 13 goals for Queensland in an U18 trial game. Matthew Laidlaw posted the fastest 20 m sprint time at the draft camp at 2.83 seconds. And Angus Graham was the third tallest person at the draft camp.

We should have taken Laidlaw last year. You should have Brennan Mills in this Poll. He is the player i would take here if still available.

Laidlaw averaged 24 possies in 10 TAC games. What was his beep test results this year? It says they were ordinary pre-season. You obviously need a big engine to play midfield in the AFL. That and playing alot of school footy seems to be what makes people think he could still be around at pick 40. Everything else about him sounds great.
West did his ACL this year so very risky.

these threads a re ok for a discussion but i find them pointless bec there are 15 other clubs who will pick players so u just dont know who is available.
imho, we should use pick 8 and possibly pick 24 only. we have plaenty of youth and as its stated next yrs crop is better, we should use this trade period to trade guys like tivm chaff, hall etc, guys who really dont cut the mustard for better 22-27 yo players who can add to our group not hinder it.
tw and miller have said many times that we have a big core of youth but not experience.
we really dont need this trade to pick up more young talent , thats what next yr can be used 4.
thus we should concentrate on trading 4 better players , without getting rid of any kids just hacks
