Mate haven't you heard? We've apparently locked in Townsend for a third round pick lmao

Meanwhile Dangerfield, Henderson, Redden and Sinclair are all traded and would have been great pickups for us.

Aish, Carlisle, Treloar, Talia, Smith all on the move but no go for us...

mmm, much as I would love them all , going on reported salaries, that's nearly $2.5m in those 5, leaves what $7.5m to $8m for the other 35 on list, don't add up does it ?

Probably can't fit them all in, but you could certainly chase two.

Treloar and Carlisle would probably cost us $1.2-1.3 million/year between them.

Plus some where never going to any other club than the one they chose no matter what was thrown at them

Pointless even mentioning some of those names

Dangerfield yes. Treloar sort of - said he wouldn't mind Carlton if a trade couldn't happen for Collingwood. Henderson maybe.

Everybody else is free game...

People who have even the slightest amount of optimism, smiling large and vomiting sunshine are the worst kind of Richmond supporter. You dont love the tigers unless you're an alcoholic/drug addicted singleton/simpleton.

Haha

Fine line between optimistic and delusional isn't it?

Fancy how much of a shock on it'd be , losing to melbourne or getting pumped in the first week of finals, if it were only the Rose coloured-glasses crew   Here

Couldnt make much sense of that mate. I dont like it when we lose crunch games, had a huge fight with the missus after the North loss I was in such a filthy mood (she's learnt now not to talk to me after losing games) but I move on. If that puts me in the rose coloured brigade then Ill happily captain the team! :thumbsup

Ok I'll try again

It's not much different , between an optimistic fan, and having the blinkers on, is it?

For example a Leeds fan can hope to win the European champions league within three years.  But chances are it won't happen

I'm not sayin to punch your women. 99% of people here , want Richmond to win te flag

Some just think it won't happen given the path we are treading

I think thats a fair call, but ultimately how much influence do we really have on the club? So whats the point of  :banghead all the time.

I honestly think we're closer to the ultimate goal than others do, but growing up as part of my generation Ive seen nothing but mediocrity spanning through to downright disgracefulness when it comes to the performance of this club.

I also think the haters deep down agree that were on the right path, otherwise, why would people be so upset when we're not landing a big fish. Our list suggests we're maybe 1-2 very good players away from bring a top contender. Who's going to step up and br the next Alex Rance for us. Just cause we dont draft in an A grader, doesnt mean someone already listed cant take the next step in 16. After all, North almost pinched a GF appearance, and we could have beaten them in that final.

If thats delusional, well I guess Im delusional.

good post

i think some of 'the haters' are frustrated cause the club has been rebuilding for about ten years, there has been 30 odd years of crap

now we are 'close'

and seemingly not making all the correct calls.

IMHO - the premiership window will not be open forever

time will tell eh

Conversely,  why lay down to what you are given. Don't be anyone's bitch.

Do not go quietly into that night.....

yeah, as if going all emo and whining like spoilt little bunnies is going to change a damn thing, nor is being derogatory to those that understand this and dont wish to crawl into the dark hole with you.

lmao, by any definition, being someones  bitch would be endlessly whining and not actually doing anything about. Do you really think that whoever coined the phrase "Do not go quietly into the night" had bawling like a baby in mind?

Did you mean "Do not go gentle into that good night" -  the poem by Dylan Thomas?

Good luck with your definitions there. Very sad.

As long as your happy, what does anything matter eh?

Go with the flow.

In 3-5 years time when we are back down the bottom you can all tell us how fantastic things are and have been.

Lmao
