Dan Richardson was on SEN just after 2pm ...


* Didn't make a formal offer for Carlisle but did enquire.

* Happy to go to the draft with pick 12 and pick up another talented kid. Of course, things can change quickly during the trade period.

* Yarran is a priority to bring in. There's a couple of options including trading future picks. Chris has committed to coming to us. We believe he'll hold true to that so we're not concerned. If we sense that is suddenly changing then we'll need to move quickly.

* McBean is contracted. We always saw him as a 4-5 year long-term project being lightly framed. He's still developing. Plenty of talent and upside. Won the VFL goalkicking.

* Got good depth in our KPP stocks - both forwards and defenders. Makes it harder for guys to get into the side but you want that. No doubt Liam will work hard over the preseason and break his way into the team next year.

Why have we gone openly public about how much of a need Yarran is.... Carlton can play hard ball knowing that we desperately want him.... Stupid.

Should put in the media we are after 3-4 running half backs and Carlton will deal for Yarran to get in quickly.

Would be naive to think we could pretend that he isn't a priority for us given Yarrran had chosen us as his priority.
Like it or not, both club and player need to make the commitment to force the issue.

Nothing wrong with showing our cards to our needs, can't hide that but showing our number 1 target card I'd a bit sloppy.

Not about tricking, just about not putting all eggs in 1 basket
