Inside Football's mock draft from 1-80:
Brett Anderson
Inside Football
November 5, 2015
1. CARLTON
Jacob Weltering | Dandenong Stingrays
The Blues can build their defence for the next 10 years around a player who resembles Geelong's Harry Taylor with the way he controls the air down back.
2. BRISBANE
Josh Sehache | Murray Bushrangers
Brisbane's lack of goalkicking power will get a shot in the arm with the strong marking, straight kicking youngster whose father played for the club in the 1990s.
3. SYDNEY
Callum Mills | North Shore
Some rate Mills as the best player in the draft despite missing nearly the entire season, such was his dominance as a 17-year-old. Think Isaac Heeney Mk II.
4. MELBOURNE
Charlie Curnow | Geelong Falcons
Could well have been the No.l pick with a clear run with injuries. Alongside Jesse Hogan should form a fearsome attacking option in years to come.
5. GWS GIANTS
Jacob Hopper | North Ballarat Rebels
The Giants should be able to plug and play Hopper from day one and ease any pain associated with losing Adam Treloar to Collingwood.
6. ESSENDON
Darcy Parish | Geelong Falcons
The Bombers have been eyeing off the Falcons' "^*'P* youngster all year and will be thrilled to add some more quality to a redeveloping midfield unit.
7. ESSENDON
Sam Weideman | Eastern Ranges
Finding another tail forward to play alongside Joe Daniher is vital for the club's improvement It will also allow Gale Hooker to eventually return to defence.
8. GOLD COAST
Clayton Oliver | Murray Bushrangers
A big second half of the year has shot the big-bodied midfielder into top 10 calculations. The Suns have made no secret of their desire for another inside mid.
9. GWS GIANTS
Matthew Kennedy | Collingullie-GP
In years to come he may prove to be the pick of the crop. Not many midfielders can go forward and take contested marks as he can. A bit of Ollie Wines about him.
10. MELBOURNE
Kieran Collins | Dandenong Stingrays
Lynden Dunn punches' above his weight so the lure of a strong-bodied defender is tempting. Would allow the Dees to focus on mids in the future.
11. CARLTON
Harry McKay | Gippsland Power
Goals, goals, goals. The Blues have had awful trouble finding (and keeping) a key forward in recent times but in McKay they will have a hard worker who is very capable.
12. BRISBANE
Eric Hipwood | Aspley
Hipwood can play at centre half back or centre half forward - both areas of need for the Lions. Now at 202cm, he could also pinch-hit in the ruck.
13. ADELAIDE
Wayne Milera | Central District
The Crows will toss and turn over which South Australian to take, but may see the silky half forward as the best selection and hope Francis slips through to No.16.
14. CARLTON
Aaron Francis | West Adelaide
Carlton could opt to take Harry's brother Ben but having missed out on Brendon Goddard years ago take a player who shares some similar traits.
15. RICHMOND
Callum Ah Chee | South Fremantle
A creative small forward has for seeminlgy forever and Ah Chee can come in and play that role before eventually moving into midfield.
16. ADELAIDE
Ben McKay | Gippsland Power
The Crows' key position stocks are deep at both ends and having shown glimpses in defence and attack, McKay would be a smart pick if Francis is off the board.
17. ST KILDA
Rhys Mathieson | Geelong Falcons
St Kilda could go a few ways but is still looking to beef up the midfield and could use a competitive beast who excels around the stoppages like "The Big Dog".
18. HAWTHORN
Riley Bonner | West Adelaide
With Matt Suckling gone and Shaun Burgoyne nearing the end, another good ball distributor from half back would be a nice addition for the reigning premier.
19. BRISBANE
Ben Keays | Brisbane Lions
Keays has excelled at every level he has played thus far and should be right to step in straight away and give the Lions some extra grunt around the midfield.
20. GOLD COAST
Ryan Clarke | Eastern Ranges
Clarke's ability to push forward and kick goals could see him go earlier. He would be a wise addition given question marks over the long-term intentions of O'Meara and Prestia.
21. NORTH MELBOURNE
Mitchell Hibberd | Clarence
North supporter since birth and a great fit for the Roos as a tall, athletic midfielder - something lacking on their list
22. HAWTHORN
Daniel Rioli | St Mary's
Rioli has shot up the boards in the past few months and may even go earlier than the Hawks' second first-round pick. Teaming up with Uncle Cyril would be a story.
23. CARLTON
Jade Gresham | Northern Knights
Add a few centimetres to his height and he is a top 10 pick. As a creative inside/outside midfielder, the Blues would be getting great value and a potential future star.
24. WESTERN BULLDOGS
Darcy Tucker | North Ballarat Rebels
Tucker suits the Bulldogs' style perfectly with his hard running at half back. Seen as a top-five chance at the start of the season and is as professional as they come,
25. WESTERN BULLDOGS
Braden Florini | Northern Knights
Smooth left footer who has been a big possession winner this year as a wingman and drifting inside. Hariey Balic is another that could be considered here.
26. FREMANTLE
Harley Balic | Sandringham Dragons
27. WEST COAST
Aidyn Johnson | Bendigo Pioneers
28. ESSENDON
Tom Cole | Bendigo Pioneers
29. ESSENDON
Ryan Burton | North Adelaide
30. NORTH MELBOURNE
Mason Redman | Glenelg
31. COLLINGWOOD
Alex Morgan | Oakleigh Chargers
32. NORTH MELBOURNE

From Inside Football's draft edition:
15. Richmond - Callum Ah Chee
South Fremantle | 9/10/97 | Ht: 181 | Wt: 72
"Callum is a smooth mover who has very clean hands and works really both ways. He's got the ability to take a big mark. He's the younger brother of Brendon (Port Adelaide) and has predominantly played half-forward this year but can play up the ground. After the state Under 18 matches he came straight into our side and at the draft I'd be surprised if he didn't go in the top 20" - South Fremantle football manager David Depane.

47. Richmond - Blake Hardwick
Eastern Ranges | 5/2/97 | Ht: 181cm | Wt: 79kg
"Dimma could be anything. He could be Mark LeCras meets Jamie Elliott, but probably have a bit more to him and be able to push through the midfield as well. He's super powerful, super quick. If you play a small on him he'll sit on their head. You put a tall on him and he'll just kill him at ground level, cause he's so dynamic and quick in that first five metres, and he's a really nice set shot. He's still got to keep doing the work and making sure he's able to get up through the midfield, but when he's in and around the contest and the ball is in his immediate area he's competitive by nature and he understands the game so well that he wins enough of his own footy to be able to go through there in bursts." - Eastern Ranges talent manager Len Villani

74. Richmond - Mitch King
Murray Bushrangers | 1/1/97 | Ht: 200cm | Wt: 92kg
"Mitch is a 200cm ruckman who came off an ACL injury last year and took over the No.1 ruck mantle the instant he got back after the game in Darwin. His tap work was superb and really helped our midfield and his hit-outs to advantage were top four in the TAC Cup, and he only played nine or so games. Very good mark and runs well. Will just get better now he has that year under his belt following the knee injury. A great kid and a great character." - Murray Bushrangers coach Darren Ogier.

No one care that we've already picked a dud? The whole board should be sacked. Worse than our trade period

The fairy godmother promised you otherwise?

I'd tell you Santa did but I know how much that still burns you inside
-
Ah Chee at 12/15 & Hardwick at 47/52 awould be a good result....think I'd rather rookie a ruck like Cameron than take King....need to invest in a KPD......

Agreed. I'd be stoked if that was the result. Hardwick unfortunately will go earlier IMHO.

I can tell you YR the only thing that burns inside is Saturday night Balinese on an early Sunday morning......and Santa's little helpers ain't nowhere......well I suppose it's sort of outside too or perhaps strictly falls into the peri-nether area but you catch my drift
-
@mightytiges - Do you have Blake Hardwick & Mitch King going to Richmond because you've heard we're interested in them?
@BrettAndersonIF - Good fits. Might be interested but I'm not 100% on that.

Shame he's just making it up. Ah Chee and Hardwick would be good fits. Do we need both though or just one or the other?
