Read on Y&B that SEN claimed this morning that we are going for Mathew Lappin with a 3 year deal in the PSD if his still available at pick 5.
I know Miller chased after him a couple of years ago but sheesh Lappin is what 29 years old (?) now. Offering 3 years would be ridiculous :help.

I'd think he'd have 3 years left in him. Those skinny runts always last longer.
-
Lappin wouldn't come cheap also so I'm not sure how we'd afford him given the restraints on our football budget.
-
He goes to my local fish'n'chip shop. Fish'n'chips never hurt KB, so he would fit right in.
Not crazy about a three year deal though - crazy stuff :banghead

Tell him if he comes to Punt road and duds out we'll kill him :sleep

What are we ??? - the Lost Blues (Dogs) home for Carlton strays :-\
We've had a few in the last 10 or so years:
Chris Bond
Ben Harrison
Ian Herman
Simon Verbeek
Tim Fleming
Simon Fletcher
Bondy and Harro were at least servicable but as for the rest -> :help

lappin may just work, he can take on the best small fwds, he can also play as a small fwd. he is 29 yes, but really his body is much younger, he can last 3 more yrs easy and his price will drop because plain and simply if he really wants to play he will accept any 3 yr offer. from what i gather, his beef with the blues wasnt th emoney value of the contract but the length, he just wanted a 3 yr deal

Greg "Mr October" Miller was SEN this morning between 7.30am and 8.00am
He said this rumour was true............................
Two seasons ago :lol
He said this rumour in 2006 was not true at all and that we are not in a position to chase or offer the sort of money a player like Lappin would be after.
This rumour can go into the bin
-
Ah, yes we won't be chasing him, but that doesn't mean he won't be chasing us.

Looks like Lappin will be staying at Carlton anyway.
Blues in control in Lappin talks
Herald-Sun
27oct05
Carlton has grabbed the ascendancy in its long-running test of wills with classy utility Matthew Lappin.
Lappin, who in June rejected a two-year deal that would have earned him $850,000, now is considering a revised offer understood to be at least $200,000 less.
The Blues withdrew the original offer after Lappin refused to budge on his stipulation of three years.
Given the apparent lack of interest from other clubs, Carlton would seem to hold sway in negotiations. Sources say Lappin's manager Ron Joseph also has indicated to Carlton a two-year deal now is acceptable.
