David Bowie was my lifelong hero ever since I wore out my copy of the Jean Genie single as a 12 year old in 1973. I have followed his career through all of its' many ch-ch-changes ever since, and am the proud owner of all 28 of his studio albums, live albums, videos etc. I saw him live in every concert he brought to Melbourne in 1978 (M.C.G.), 1983 (VFL Park Waverley), 1987 (Kooyong) and 2004 (Rod Laver), as well as at Wembley in London in 1995. At the Rod Laver gig I was front row and centre, and stood inches away from the great man as he belted out a stunning two and a half hour show which left the fans in raptures. It will remain forever one of the highlights of my life.
I have been in a state of numb shock and grief ever since the tragic news broke. David Bowie was a one-off. Totally unique and an utterly brilliant artist at whatever he turned his hand to. RIP Starman, and thank you for everything, with love from just one of your many millions of Space Cadets.

Great tribute RR, the news stopped me in my tracks when disembarking during the week.
We were lucky to have him share his musical genius in our life time

There's a starman waiting in the sky
Hed like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
Hes told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
