DANIEL Wells found himself taking an envious peep sideways at Brett Deledio as the Australians bonded for battle with the Irish.
 
At 18, Deledio has the size and swagger of a star. Wells only wishes it had come so naturally for him.

"I said to Brett, `You've got great size and strength already'. I told him he will be like Chris Judd," Wells said.

"He's got that touch of arrogance, too, which people need."

Wells now has the confidence, if not the arrogance, to take a significant step next year. But the exciting Kangaroo is still hard at work on getting his body right.

Unlike Deledio, chiselled and cut as if produced in an AFL cloning lab, Wells at first struggled to put on weight. Now, he fears he lost some zip this year coming to grips carrying extra kilos.

U can see the arrogance in the tackle from game one,just at the end when he gives the guy a forearm in his face. :thumbsup

Here's hoping he is one of afew to come our way.

Thats something i noticed about Lids early, he seems to be the perfect athlete and have the perfect body type to put on a bit of muscle, yet not lose any speed.

Unlike other players coming into the league, he doesn't have to to tank up heaps, just a bit here and there!

In September, Lids said he still wants to put on another 3-5 kgs which would put him around the 188cm - 85 kg mark.

Like i said a bit here and there, he was 81kg coming into the league i believe.

His not like Limbach who needs to put on about 20-25kg!  :o

LOL. Conlan was a big boy in the upper body and arms yet was still quick. A human tank!
