Unless you get enjoyment from trolling.
Or you get energy from futility?
The excuse of holding the club to account is so laughable it's painful to read.
Imagine if the club was actually run this way?
Is THAT the point?
It's like running a horse with a broken leg.

Making the club accountable has thus far failed too.

Say the soldiers of mediocrity.
You are missing the point which is ironic.
-
I would like to know who all these despisers are.
I mostly see a heap of loyalty lots of patience and a deep love of the club itself.
Im not sure where it is written that you have to accept everything richmond or accept what is wrong and what has not been done well.
I am actually surprised so many continue to just accept what has probably been the least successful 30 odd year period of any club.

The guy who dumps a truckload of chicken manure on the doorstep after an unacceptable loss makes a bigger statement than someone who ridicules his fellow Richmond brother online
I dare say the club would take more notice too.

I post here because I find it to be a lot of fun. Sure you have your characters but that is part and parcel of having a group of passionate supporters speaking their free minds.
What many find here distressing, is the personal attacks on individual posters. It is a clear line that the mods can see. We may all not agree on many issues and that is acceptable. What is not acceptable is when this becomes abusive.
The internet bullies, as I call them, ruin the site for everyone else. I won't name them because they are obvious. We all know who they are (not you claw).
The funniest thing is they can't take it at all themselves although they can sure dish it out. When you humour them they squeal like a captured hog.
Anyway, with that off my chest, I wish you all a good day. :cheers

ACCEPTANCE & HOPE-
During this, the last of the seven stages in this grief model, you learn to accept and deal with the reality of your situation. Acceptance does not necessarily mean instant happiness. Given the pain and turmoil you have experienced, you can never return to the carefree, untroubled YOU that existed before this tragedy. But you will find a way forward.
You will start to look forward and actually plan things for the future. Eventually, you will be able to think about your lost loved one without pain; sadness, yes, but the wrenching pain will be gone. You will once again anticipate some good times to come, and yes, even find joy again in the experience of living.

Says the girl who started a silky thread to dob and sob
-
I love Richmond and want us to be successful.
Ironically, the poster who started the thread is on the record as saying he/she deliberately trolls. So the context thread lacks integrity before the first reply is posted.
But I digress.
Demanding success and honesty are good things. I love it when we win and hate it when we lose.
So what's wrong with calling the good with the bad? Should there be protection or sanitising of poor decisions on or off the field?
Or should the facts be discussed in an open and accountable way? Should criticizing the club be off the table because some people believe it hurts the club or there feelings?

Well said.
Yes well said.
Ok I go off my nut as well for people bagging their own team but it's just because I just don't understand why or how people can say what they say about (as the thread suggest) the team they love but then hate them more than ever.
I get that you are all extremely passionate about your favourite team the Tigers and that to me is so fantastically awesome, it does make me smile.
I am as passionate about MY FOOTY TEAM as anybody on here. In fact I feel I am the most passionate Tiger in the whole world (just how I feel).
As YellowanBlackBlood said, posting on here is a nightmare.
For example last year when I still believed we could make the finals when we were 3-10, I didn't post that simply because of the absolute tremendous amount of crap I would have coped from some people in here.
Now posting something like that to me is fun and exciting and shows my belief and passion for the second most important thing in my life (family first sorry lol) and that's my Tigers.
Just a thought, Being ONE-EYED basically means to love and believe beyond all doubt that your team is the best and will win no matter what, which is what I thought this website to be, in fact it's quite the opposite, but would I would certainly love to see it be like that.
As for having your own voice heard, and yes I am a huge believer in this, then do so, but not in such a disparaging way for the team that you love.
I use to own a forum of another topic but had a special venting section were people could vent and if others didn't like it they DIDN'T read it and/or most certainly DIDN'T reply in an offensive manner, worked really well and kept the main subject matter on topic and moved along positively, the way it should.
Having a voice in a forum such as this one is great, having many small voices wanting the same thing is better, but in reality does not do a damn thing.
PHYSICAL ACTION IMPLEMENTATION moves mountains.
And by this I mean DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Get together form a plan and take action in the real world so it can be heard by real people.

1980 is the bagging out you speak of just criticism or just general slagging off?
Do you suggest that that we as supporters become communists and blindly accept every thing that our exalted leaders do and say as perfect?
Or if we have an opinion we should be free to express these opinions even if they are critical of our club, leadership or players?
I have found that in general that most posters have a logical reasoning when they post. Whether we agree with that reasoning is up to each individual to decide for themselves.
A small minority however can be purile in their attacks on our club, and the best way to respond is to use facts.
An example is the erroneous claims of Conca's poor game in the last NAB cup game. Every time a poster made a false assertion I would research the claim to confirm or dispel it.
I found that after a few posts the claimant would stop posting on that subject as they were found to be making an idiot of themselves as the facts proved otherwise.
I did not suggest that his game was perfect but in particular one poster claimed that he missed a 15mt kick by 10 mt I knew that to be rubbish and when challenged the said poster failed to back up his claim.
In some areas facts can't be used and everything is purely opinion and these debates have raged on for days and weeks.
I enjoy a good argument or debate with my fellow posters and as most people who post here are passionate about the Tigers that is what makes it great.
Where do you stand 1980?

I am equally surprised that so many posters cannot see anything genuinely positive about our last 5 years.
Before that, I totally agree with your assertion Claw, it has been an awful 25 odd years.
I enjoy most of the posts - even the negative ones as they are largely expressed with intelligence and biased logic which is one way of posting.
I'm just surprised that those same posters wouldn't have the intelligence to realise that to them what they see is ultimately apocalyptic and wouldn't move on to something else in life.

Sorry I should have been clearer it's as you say "A small minority however can be purile in their attacks on our club" entirely about that crap.
Love a great debate myself and and as I said our voices need to be heard, but if somebody came in here and read the rubbishy crap that some posters believe will make a difference and state in a way that is just downright idiotic then nothing would be achieved.
Hasve a say because that is what forums are all about, doing just that but as an adult, granted I don't know the ages of the posters that abuse others, they may certainly be young and not so wise.
I could talk footy 24/7 both good and what needs attention, but not in this fashion.
If I was to post that Conca had a poor game and I was wrong, I could be told politely that he did in fact have a good game, with a small reason why. If I didn't accept that then I would then be an idiot. I don't mean politely as pleeeeease and oh thankyou in a small voice, stuff that rubbish, I'm talkin about intelligent conversation.
When matters are discussed in the real world such as footy, (with friends or even strangers) people just don't talk like they do in here (well not all the time anyway).
There is a difference between during the game and 4 days later when posting something.
During the game a person gets excited at great grab or goal, and then outrageously angry when the ball gets turned over or didn't lay a tackle. That's when posting reactions become excited or angry. But to post that anger a few days later should, if possible, be written much better, as in logical reasoning as you suggest.
There are some great posters in here and many posters that want to be great posters but may simply prefer attention (negativity always gets attention, it's human nature).
I just wanna talk and enjoy talking with other passionate Tiger fans.
I do believe that have I and everybody has the right to post what ever they want to, if it's what they think or believe there is nothing wrong with that.
The other day I posted that I believe that Big Ivan could go for another 4 - 5 years playing. I was abruptly told that it was absurd. That poster does NOT know for a fact that he won't play for another 4 - 5 years. Fair point, but an intelligent adult having a civil conversation would give reasons or at the very least say that they don't think so etc etc.
In general it's the virile few that destroy it for everyone.
Talk, discuss, debate and even argue about the mighty Tiges but do it with some intellectual competence, is all I'm askin'.

Wow.
Firstly, just because some posters are critical of an aspect of their club doesn't mean they hate their club. Really too simplistic. Under this logic, for example, if someone saw you having a disagreement with a mate or your missus or disciplining your kids, you would assume you hate them. Which is obviously ridiculous.
secondly, I think you need to come to terms with the fact that Richmond belongs to all its fans, and that we live in a society of free speech. People also have different opinions. You are asking people to only post if their approach is non critical and (in effect) in agreement with you. If you are so convinced that your 'non-critical' approach is the correct and supreme one to posting, why would you rather ask to 'silence' those with a critical (or so called 'disparaging') opinion rather than talk about their specific opinions? Surely if you believe you are right you could easily dispense of the opposing views with facts and logic. How about we silence your opinions because we disagree?
Thirdly with the structure of the forum without a special venting section, perhaps consider a bit of self control and if someone is venting, ignore it if you don't like it. A bit of self control and responsibility rather than blaming others for your reaction.
Finally, and more broadly to others in the thread, I think many are confusing supposed personal attacks on others with simply others having a view that is disagreement with your own. It's an interesting site and half the interest is reading and debating different viewpoints. Having different viewpoints is healthy. Everybody is different. Diversity means a wid range of ideas and the good ideas and viewpoints benefit all of us. Don't be ignorant and seek to silence opposing views. Let them rise or fail on their merits.

As I previously posted having your own say is good, and talking about what is negative is also good it's design is to fix issues. Having different viewpoints is healthy and productive, never said it wasn't.
Venting is about having a say in a counter productive manner and a place where you don't need to take back you've said. Gets the really ugly stuff off the main forum which is viewed by hundreds of potential supporters of this site and the RFC. These venting boards can be concealed so only members see them. Special privilages can be assigned to those who request to use them etc etc etc.
Not sure what you mean by "belongs to all fans" but of course it does" and I have done what I can to convert non Tiger believers into Tiger faithfuls, so I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion, but please let me know.
Ignorance is only for those who use the word and I will not lead any more into that than is necessary.
As I said I love a great debate, I just detest mindless nonsensical drivel.
-
I know I'm not always positive about some of our players (mostly Ellis and sometimes Houli and Griff) but the one thing I cannot stand is soft scared players wearing our great jumper. It doesn't matter if you are a first year player or a veteran, it's a game of footy and by the time you are at this level, scared soft pricks I can not tolerate. Being scared is being selfish in my opinion and I'll never apologise for calling out our players if I see it and if that offends anyone, too bad.
I must admit I do get annoyed at the posters that cannot see the obvious about some of the problems the club has but I find it much easier to just ignore it than call them out on it. If people want to live in fairyland that's fine with me.
But the worst thing on this site by far IMO is the poster/s that think they are funny and post crap jokes with every post without actually contributing anything worth reading. Even worse is when they repeat the same poo jokes over and over again.

I guess for balance a thread should be started demanding site members stop posting ridiculously positive posts.....because we don't agree.
Nah, we'll take the high moral ground as per usual

Right and true about rights and respects but disagreeing with somebody is completely and utterly different from abuse. I'm quite happy for anybody to disagree with me or simply say that I'm wrong for what ever reason, but someone to say that I am an idiot for posting something for what ever their reason is just stupid.
There is a huge difference and nothing what so ever to do with high moral ground.
Anyway, I just want to talk footy, so I'm gonna do just that.
Cheers,
1980.

It is a bit thin skinned to need a separate 'realistic comments' section, rather than the Mary poppins variety.
There was a lot of truth, for example in that bomberblitz link Marty posted. Truth hurts sometimes

Funny that no one answered the question in the OP title.
You don't love what happening so why bother so much time on something you despise.
Not the club but what's "happening to it"
-
People are passionate. Why wouldn't they care about their club

People are passionate. Why wouldn't they care about their club
How long can you remain passionate on the one hand when on the other the pursuit seems futile?
Very little genuine hope in some posters which makes we wonder why they bother

I did not suggest that his game was perfect but in particular one poster claimed that he missed a 15mt kick by 10 mt I knew that to be rubbish and when challenged the said poster failed to back up his claim.
Look, I don't know what poster you are referring to, but maybe he was exaggerating the 10 meters. In the end what does it matter though? He missed a simple kick that no AFL footballer should miss and the issue with this is he misses kick on a regular basis
If you want to see the video of what (I assume) he was referring to, watch the link. It also shows his second stuff up straight after

The kick was just 1 foot (30 cm) too high, big deal Houli kicked it four times to Hawthorns advantage but I don't see the same level of hostility directed toward him by some posters.
Dusty made mistakes too no-one calling for his head. All three players made mistakes but all three were good players for us against Hawthorn.
-
How many simple kicks did they miss? How many good things did they do? Conca didn't do many. But let's defend him for missing a STATIONARY TEAMMATE FIFTEEN METRES AWAY. Should of hit him on the tit nice and simple, not gone over his head
-
spot on, his kicking is a real concern. have said it from day dot, his ball drop is atrocious and thus his kicking will always be suspect.
