Sydney has the best midfield in the competition according to Champion Data’s quality ranking with Josh Kennedy the top-rated ball winner.
The Swans rank third when taking into the account the top six players behind Fremantle and a Geelong side bolstered with the addition of Patrick Dangerfield during the off season.
Richmond and North Melbourne are ranked 9th and 13th overall for midfield quality.
It should come as no surprise Essendon and Carlton have the worst ranked midfields in the competition.
The Gold Coast midfield is ranked 14th in overall quality but 6th when taking in only the best six on-ballers thanks to the Gary Ablett.

I should not have to spell such basics out but hey if the blinkers are on one cant help it.
We have two mid fwds in our team alone who had better yrs than Edwards as mid fwds.
Boy how low is the bar set when just 13 goals and just 18 disposals makes you the best mid/fwd in the comp.I think Chad Wingard would say hello how much ball did he get how many goals.Robbie Gray fits the criteria of a mid/fwd as well. Thats just two players from one other teasm as well.
Im not sure what champion data's criteria are but they are different to mine.
Why is it so many like Al just accept what is written with out working out the basics for themselves. :snidegrin

Not really a surprise. he was awesome last year before breaking his leg. Word is he'll spend more time up front this year. Can't wait for that. 8)
