Summary
* We've had a good week. We gave the players 4 days off. Coaches have done some reflection. Looking forward to the second half of season.
* We review weekly. So we always know what we need to do to go forward. We're trying some things to improve our game. Won 4 of last 5. Lost to your mob, Jim.
* We back our boys in. Happy with our list. Strongest list in his time at the club. We're not playing our best footy and have players down on form and not playing their best footy. That's the challenges facing us going forward.
* A couple of factors for where we're at. Expectations higher than we've been playing. Accept that and himself and coaches take responsibility for that. Just focusing on the Brisbane game.
* List management and coaching is ongoing. Looking to develop younger players which is where his 'half-step back to go forward' comment came from. Tried playing some young players. Some have worked; others haven't. We're comfortable with where we are heading on that front.
* Rebuild phase? We regenerate. We haven't had a player over 30 play in the last couple of weeks. So our list demographic is fine. Getting games into young players and happy to continue along those lines.
* Bucks rang Dimma's wife instead of him because Dimma accidentally put his wife's number down on his AFLCA form.
* Rance - certainly a character around the club. When you're struggling, he and Jack lift the club's spirits.
* I am coaching Richmond and we are a big marque club. It [media attention/criticism] comes with the territory. If your underperforming, you cop you're fair whack. We look to a big second half of the season.
* Peggy and board decide if they try someone else. We've got a strong team (Peggy, Benny, Dan) and we're resolute. We're determined and are confident in sticking to our processes.
* Jack Watts mentioned that Bernie Vince takes the credit for Dusty's form as he plays golf with Dusty. Dimma said he can't believe Dusty plays golf [laughs].

We are going to be stuffed for years with this guy at the helm atent we

Words mean nothing.
Results are everything.

....meanwhile, as the club prepares for another 5 years of mediocrity...
-
Mediocrity is accepted by some..as are mediocre players accepted. :snidegrin

Yet very few accept Hampson, go figure.

Just Hampson?? Go figure..

Seriously - how can he keep saying things like its the strongest list in his time at the club.
We look like a bottom 5 club and a mile off playing finals.
-
Watching Amy on foxtel, looks like I didnt miss anything I havent already heard ad-nauseum

Clearly he thinks he's coaching is the worst it's ever been given he's led inferior lists to 3 consecutive finals campaigns

Here's the video link of Dimma's interview for those that missed it:

Rodney Eade did the same at the Swans, maybe not consecutive, how many finals did he get them into but they couldn't go to the next level. Malthouse was the same at the Dogs...maybe Hardwick is the same.
-
Eade got Sydney to a Grand Final in his first year, Malthouse got Footscray to a prelim. and did it with no money, in a time before drafts, salary caps & equalisation.

There r those who want to win finals and there r those who simply want to be invited and thrown out in two hours.
That's about it ...

Do you think it's the strongest list we've had?

Maybe on paper ( at the start of the year ) Definitely not in reality....and it is clear for all to see we are carrying players who are not AFL standard. Geez one could argue that Grigg is in our top 10 players at the minute.
Who knew Yarren would be plagued with mental problems. Conca would miss 12 weeks . Maric would become completely Irrelevant. Vlastuin , B Ellis and Vickery all either stagnating or going backwards. Edwards also not playing at the level he was last year. Put into the mix a game plan that is unexciting and almost unwatchable at times.
2013 was the best list in Hardwicks tenure. Players like Jackson , Matt White , Tuck and Jake King - none of them superstars , all of them malligned but at least they made Richmond hard to play against.

true, plus how hard did Tuck have to fight to get a game.
I think that showed up Dimma as a bloke who picks people whose footy is not always based on merit, I think that affects the playing groups morale and coaches credibility.

It matters not whether you have the fastest car but rather, how you race it.
