THEY’RE calling Brendon Gale ‘Batman’ down at Tigerland given his recent venture into the world of crime fighting.
The Richmond CEO was having a quiet coffee in a local cafe on Bridge Rd last week when he witnessed a robbery.
A man had strode into the cafe, grabbed the tips jar and bolted out the door.
Gale sprung from his seat and gave chase, tackling the assailant and orchestrating a citizen’s arrest.
Richmond CEO Brendon Gale’s new nickname is Batman after orchestrating a citizen’s arrest.
While there are varying reports about the length of the chase — he is now saying it was halfway into the city while eyewitnesses say it was more like three doors down — the former Richmond ruckman grabbed the offender’s backpack.
He emptied the contents, found the tips jar and then calmly strode back into the cafe.
It turns out the offender had been making a habit of harassing the traders with Gale, or Batman, now a hero of the local community.
