How the trade period should go for the Tigers

As recently seen on field, Richmond have been struggling. I would say the Tigers should not worry too much about the results for the rest of 2016 and focus on getting games into younger guys.

This is how I believe the Tigers should play in the 2016 trade period.

Firstly, here are the players they should keep.
-Nick Vlastuin
-Dustin Martin
-Brandon Ellis
-Ben Lennon
-Jack Riewoldt
-Trent Cotchin
-Shane Edwards
-Chris Yarran
-Daniel Rioli
-Alex Rance
-Ivan Maric
-Jacob Townsend
-Kane Lambert
-Anthony Miles
-Sam Lloyd
-Oleg Markov
-Corey Ellis
-Kamdyn McIntosh
-Liam McBean
-Nathan Broad
-Callum Moore (Upgrade)
-Connor Menadue
-Daniel Butler
-Adam Marcon
-Jayden Short (Upgrade)

The reason I believe these players should be kept is because I believe these players have plenty of potential and skill to offer to the Richmond team week in week out. They put their body on the line every week and bravery is needed to win games.

Here are the ones they should trade.

Dylan Grimes. Dylan has much more potential to offer and I believe both Richmond and Dylan would benefit if they parted ways.

Brett Deledio. Brett has served Richmond well but I believe he is past his best and, like Steve Johnson would benefit going to a new club to finish his career.

Shaun Grigg. I believe Shaun would show his full potential at a new club.

Bachar Houli. Serves well but also fumbles the ball often and would benefit at a new club.

Shaun Hampson. Same as Bachar, fumbles often and would benefit at a new club.

Ben Griffiths. He doesn’t take many marks a game for a key forward and might benefit at another club.

Taylor Hunt. Hunt is struggling to get games at the moment – if he doesn’t get many trade offers, then keep him for a couple of years.

Ty Vickery. I believe he has more potential and is inconsistent so he may benefit at a new club.

Reece Conca. Conca has potential but is injury prone which stops him from seeing much senior time – would benefit from a fresh start at another club.

These are the players they should delist: Jake Batchelor, David Astbury, Andrew Moore, Troy Chaplin, Steven Morris, Nathan Drummond, Mabior Chol, Reece McKenzie, Todd Elton, Jason Castagna and Ivan Soldo.

Finally, players that could be chased to play at the Tigers in 2017 are as follows, with their clubs also listed.

Tom Rockcliff-Brisbane. He is out of contract and would play well alongside Trent Cotchin and Jacob Townsend in the same midfield. It could be like the recruitment of Paddy Dangerfield to Geelong.

Tom Mitchell-Sydney. Would work well in the same midfield of Trent Cotchin and Jacob Townsend.

Brent Stanton-Essendon. Wrong side of 30 but could give Richmond some experience and leadership on field.

Majak Daw-North Melbourne. He has shown glimpses of how he can play and if he is given the opportunity, could start playing some really good footy.

Will Minson-Western Bulldogs. He would allow some back up for Ivan Maric if he went down with injury – could play as a tall forward if needed.

Jonathan Giles-West Coast. Giles can play forward and can give some back up for Ivan Maric.

Lynden Dunn-Melbourne. Dunn is struggling for opportunities at the Demons with the development of the younger players – he’s 28 so he could give five solid years of football.

Colin Garland-Melbourne. Like Lynden Dunn, he’s struggling for opportunities with the development of the younger players.

Jonathan Beech-Adelaide. He has plenty of potential and could be a very good defender in Richmonds line up with Alex Rance – only 19 so he could take Rance’s position when he starts slowing down after reaching 30.

Fraser McInnes-West Coast. He has plenty of potential – he has struggled for opportunities being stuck behind Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling in the pecking order – would benefit at a new club.

Dion Prestia-Gold Coast. Prestia has shown he has potential to be an A-Grade mid, just needs to stay injury free and he should become the player he’s expected to be.

For other players, it would be better to look to the draft and get some young, top-end talent to the club which would help with the long-term Richmond line up. When it comes closer to the draft, I will do an analysis on who Richmond should take in the AFL draft.

Do you agree with this idea? Are there any players you may keep or any other players you may trade?

So we should keep Townsend, Marcon, Ellis B (= not try and trade) and upgrade Moore C. Thinks Maric should keep going too

But should delist Castagna, Choi and Drummond (who has a contract extension) and trade Deledio

Right-tee-o

Whatever

Castagna just showed some potential. To me he is an upgrade on Matty White, but we need to give him time. He is exactly the player we have needed since we lost White.
Chol is a rookie in his first year and has shown he is the ultimate project player. So much upside, it's not funny.

Then he wants us to go after an ageing Stanton, Minson and pick up a couple of Melbourne C graders.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!

That is genuinely one of the most ill-informed articles I have ever read.

And how many times does he want to use the word "potential" ?

As much as I would love to see both these waste of space time wasters gone, I'd love to know how changing clubs stops them from there main consistent quality as a footballer, fumbling.  :rollin

The fumbling goes from being a negative when they are playing for us to a positive when they are playing against us.

Easy on I think Jackson and Hartley are thinking of getting this guy in as our new recruitment manager, He has some really good ideas....if he barracks for Carlton.
I believe he also wants Wallace back as our coach.
